Iced Ube Matcha
Michelle W.

Midori Tea House was such a great find! The matcha was smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. It wasn't too sweet. The café has a cozy, relaxing atmosphere, making it a great place to catch up with friends or unwind. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the overall experience was wonderful. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

There's this unique cafe called Midori Tea House on a corner lot of Pennsylvania Ave and West Broad St (Rt.7). There are some street parking as well as a parking garage behind the building. Once you walked in, it's a very tiny cafe with limited of seating but manageable. The menu offers hot and cold beverages as well as pastries and cakes. There were 5 items ordered. 1) White Chocolate Matcha 2) Pistachio Matcha 3) Matcha Latte 4) Ube Tres Leche 5) Espresso Cheesecake. Every matcha drink order was delicious but make sure you mixed the pistachio matcha very well before consuming it. If not upon your first slip, you will get an unpleasant nutty taste. The espresso cheesecake tastes exactly like tiramisu. It was smooth, creamy and delicious. The Ube tres leche tastes better with the sauce but I wish instead of allowing it to run on the plate, have it in a small ramekin so you can dip it. But otherwise the cake was soft, airy and very delicious. All of the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and provided great customer service. I would make another visit in the near future.

MY NEW FAVE MATCHA SPOT IN THE DMV!!! I've recently found a new obsession with strawberry matcha and I've been creating a list of the best matcha spots in the area. So far I've gone to multiple spots in DC, VA, and MD and there's only two spots that have high grade matcha, this is one of the two. Please pleaseeeeee never change your matcha quality!!! I've noticed tons of places will have higher quality matcha, but as soon as an influx of people start coming in they change their matcha quality. Which is always disappointing when you find a quality spot. I ordered the strawberry matcha with oat milk and my husband ordered the mango matcha. Both matchas were really good, smooth, no weird taste, and perfect sweetness. I ordered 70% and my husband ordered 25% sweetness. Both were great! They make a homemade fruit puree really leveled up the beverages. The inside was small, cozy, and clean. They had a decent amount of seats. The staff were helpful and kind and the drinks didn't take too long to make. They also have dessert options available.

Classic Basque Cheesecake

Cute matcha cafe with chill ambiance Stopped by for a treat and some matcha and did not disappoint. Nice minimalist interior with decently sized seating area. Seemed like a great place to sit and relax or catch up with a friend. Service was good but interaction is minimal. Got the matcha latte basque cheesecake. Both were amazing, 10/10. Definitely recommend!

Midori Tea House is a matcha shop that's walkable from downtown Falls Church. The ambiance inside was so clean and aesthetic. It's a great place for a first date or to catch up with a small group of friends. The matcha here is sooo high quality and fresh. The drinks were both aesthetic and delicious. Also, the wait time wasn't that long and the matchas were reasonably priced for the area. I ordered the white chocolate matcha, which was the perfect amount of sweet and the right color. My friend's mango matcha was also balanced well and was soooo delicious. This place falls in my top 3 matcha cafes and is definitely worth the drive. I'd recommend coming here when in the area if you're looking for a good matcha!

fantastic almond milk matcha latte- super high quality high grade. I've gone back twice since and quality is consistent. adorable interior thats welcoming and bright to work in. lovely staff. a neighborhood gem.

Ube Tres Leches
Mila F.

Ordered to go ube tres leches. The cake was delicious, texture could be more moist but the leche that they thankfully packaged separately made up for it. The flavor was also pretty good. Would re-order or check them out in person another time!

This is now amongst the top ranked matcha spots I've been too in the DMV! I ordered the Mango Matcha by the cashiers recommendation and immediately knew it was high quality matcha. I don't think I'd order the mango again only because it didn't add much value to the drink but I will definitely go back to try others. The space is small so it's more of a grab and go matcha spot so keep that in mind but still worth the drive. Highly recommend!

Iced Matcha Latte

Love the feel of this matcha spot! A little cute spot to get a great matcha latte! I love how they have different drinks of matcha to keep customer coming! This is my go-to spot to get matcha! Highly recommend!

Iced Maple Sea Salt Matcha and Iced Toffee Nut Matcha
Ashley B.

I was excited to try this place out and the interior is very calm and welcoming. When we walked in it smelled a lot like pine. I came here with a friend and we were the only people in the store but it still took a pretty long time to get our order. I ordered the iced toffee nut matcha and my friend got the iced maple sea salt matcha. The toffee nut flavor was very artificial so it threw off the taste of the drink. The maple sea salt matcha was much better and the matcha tasted stronger. I like the option to add soft serve and it's relatively cheaper than other places, but unfortunately you can tell why because the matcha flavor doesn't really come through.

First time at Midori and I fell so Matcha in love Ordered the Maple Sea Salt Matcha with Einpanner creme and Oat milk, and 75% sweet. Super yumm! The Matcha is not watered down, but maybe I'll ask for more Matcha powder, just a bit. The space is not that big, but it's cute and clean. Saw a lot of people studying or getting their work done. Great neighborhood as well. There's a parking garage nearby. I rated 9/10. Will definitely come back.

Iced Pistachio Matcha Latte and Iced Strawberry Matcha
Vy T.

Ordered a few drinks from Midori - in order of what I liked the most: pistachio matcha and strawberry matcha, then mango matcha, and then ube matcha (didn't like that one as much, but still good - it was a bit of a nutty taste). Service was great, as we picked up the drinks and they gave us a container to carry it. The inside of the tea house has some seating and is very comfortable and has a nice aesthetic.

Cute sign with a panda friend!!

I'm a sucker for Ube and a sucker for matcha..so this could be the place. I was so excited to try the Ube matcha but it didn't live up to my expectations. There's another matcha tea house with a much better drink and a matcha flight to try. However, what saved Midori is the Ube tres leches. OMG--so delicious! I've never had dessert like this but I'll easily come back for this slice.

First I was greeted by a customer while I was reading the outside sign on a pumpkin spicy latte, a customer that was leaving stopped and turned and explained it was everything and do good and if I have not, I must as they put actual pumpkin puree inside not just that pump pump stuff. So I was sold walking in. Next up was home made cookies making ice cream sandwich's by the front door. before I could even get through the line to the front, I was greeted with more baked goods, cupcakes, scones, macroons, dog biscuits - normal biscuits! So I went to town ordering a variety being asked by my lil and my inner child. While sipping on my now, pumpkin spiced latte from here, I saw actual meals being served and I missed out on ordering sandwiches from the back :( Something I will be coming back for! I did get up and order more things, like a fall inspired cookie ice cream sandwhich, all alone by itself in a sea of other flavors, I had to rescue it. And the sour macrons! When did that become a thing??? They were so good and perfect for our movie night later that day. I'm very happy to have stumbled across this find.

I got the savory pie that was stuffed with an unctuous gumbo filling made with creole spices, the holy trinity (onions, peppers, and celery), and a generous portion of chicken. The pie pastry had a perfect flaky crumb that held the filling together. A friend had their breakfast sandwich, which had a rustic and delightful tang from the inclusion of sourdough in the biscuit batter that paired well with the thick slab of egg and crispy bacon. Incredibly savory items. I'm always gravitated towards how well a cafe can do a savory menu and this exceed my expectations. Friends I came in with who got their coffee said that it was very delicious, and the baristas can make a beautiful frothy and rich matcha latte. Its both parts technical skills to pull coffee or whisk matcha and sourcing of high-quality ingredients. Drinks make up a large part of any cafe, so to do it well here in this neighborhood cafe is exceptional. The baristas are running that place like a tight ship! Tip well!

It has become the definitive home base for several of my local groups, and for good reason. The "No Agenda - Just Coffee" Crowd Since October 2025, this has been the quarterly meeting point for a group I help organize (2 entire meetings so far!). We bring together a mix of IT-centric CxOs, startup founders, innovators, govtech, thought leaders, and industry insiders. The beauty of the space is that it handles the "no structure, no rules" vibe perfectly. We show up, grab pastries, and just hang out. It's a low-key break from the grind, and the staff handles the morning rush with impressive efficiency. The Sunday Morning Tactical Post-Game Every Sunday at 6:30am, Northside serves as the rally point for our F3 The Capital workout group. We split up--ruckers head one way, runners another--and we all converge back at the shop by 7:30am. There is nothing quite like hitting the patio after a solid session for coffee, tea, and a high-quality breakfast. The Menu and My Personal "Hack" I've been significantly more health-conscious this year, so I generally keep the order lean. My go-to is a standard drip or an Americano with exactly one pump of vanilla. If you are looking for a meal, the avocado toast and poached egg sandwiches are objectively excellent. However, if you want the best thing on the menu, order the cheddar chive scone and ask them to heat it in the oven. It is a game-changer. The Vibe It has a genuine neighborhood feel. You'll see a broad spectrum of people--from tech folks on laptops to workout groups and families. It even transitions into a great bar scene in the evenings. It's consistent, high-quality, and remains my top recommendation in Falls Church.

The bear claw was large and tasty with an enjoyable cinnamon flavor and the lemon meringue croissant was unique and enjoyable as I'd never had a croissant with lemon meringue filing. They weren't cheap but they were tasty and enjoyable. I did want to mention they have parking but it's hit or miss on getting a spot since it can get crowded so walking might be easiest if you live nearby. I really wanted to love this place…read more My family and I chose to come here for Easter because it's dog-friendly -- which felt like the perfect combination for us. They even have a dog menu, and the patio setup is honestly beautiful. The ambiance is warm, inviting, and aesthetically on point. The staff greets you right away, and first impressions were genuinely great. We chose to sit outside on the balcony so my puppy could join us, and that space alone is worth noting -- fire pits going, cozy atmosphere, just really well done. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. We ordered food for all of us, including my daughter and my puppy. My food and my puppy's food came out fairly quickly, but my daughter's meal never arrived. After waiting quite a while, I had to flag down the waiter, only to be told -- after the fact -- that they didn't even have what she ordered. At no point before that did anyone communicate this. So now she has to reorder, and we're waiting all over again while the rest of us are already eating. When her food finally arrives, there's no silverware. Just... dropped off with no thought to the fact that she actually needed utensils to eat. We also ordered lemonade, which was great -- but when the waiter offered to bring more after the issues, it never came. To try and make up for things, they brought out a dessert that looked beautiful, but when we asked what was in it (due to food sensitivities), the waiter had no idea. He eventually came back with an allergy sheet, which felt like an afterthought rather than informed service. At that point, I asked to speak with a manager. Instead, the waiter told me, "I just got out of trouble -- what can I do to make this right?" That response alone was incredibly off-putting and unprofessional. We ultimately just had my daughter's meal removed from the bill and decided to move on. Even my puppy's waffles -- which was one of the things we were most excited about -- came out slightly burnt. Overall, the lack of communication, poor follow-through, and disorganized service completely overshadowed what could have been a great experience. It's disappointing because the space and concept have so much potential. Unfortunately, I can't overlook the service issues.
