I used to live in Chinatown and would go to this place multiple times a week, back when they were still Kyo Matcha. Their soft serve is perfectly milky and just the right amount of sweet. I love adding corn flakes and oreos as toppings for a little bit of crunch. The mousse cakes were also delicious with a nice oreo crust on the bottom. I also appreciate that they've now removed themselves from the Kyo Matcha franchise so that they can add more flavors and items to the menu. If you go on the weekend this place will have a line out the door. If you go on a week day it's way less hectic and stressful. read more

But it's hard to find a place that has those things that actually taste like REAL matcha. I've had the matcha soft serve here a couple times now and I can't get enough. Also, love that there is NOT a hole in the middle of my soft serve once I make my way down. Filled all the way, great consistency, great flavor. Popped in as I was craving a cute but not too sweet dessert and this really blew me away! I haven't gone to a place like this outside of Japan so I was hesitant but proceeded with caution. We ordered the matcha and red bean towel cake, the soybean dango, the mix parfait, a crème brûlée matcha bubble tea and the genmai teapot for 2. The parfait and the dango completely blew me away! I would come back just for those two items alone. The dango was freshly prepared and because of that was warm and gooey perfection. I love matcha and happened to see a post regarding Kyo Matcha's grand opening so I had to stop by. The line was out the door, but my friends and I only ended up waiting around 20 minutes which was not bad at all. We ordered the following items to share: -Matcha and Milk Soft Serve Swirl: I got this in a cone and was surprised at how high they swirled the soft serve. It was much taller than I was expecting but it hit the spot on a humid day. One thing to note is that the soft serve melted quite quickly. I didn't even realize it had already been dripping all over my hands until my friend pointed it out. After this, I had to pretty much wolf it down to avoid making any more of a mess. -Hokkaido Fromage Cheesecake: This was pretty good - it was light and not too sweet. It was reminiscent of the LeTao cheesecakes I love eating whenever I'm in Japan. -Matcha Red Bean Towel Cake: I would skip this next time I come here. I was intrigued by the presentation of this cake, but in my opinion, the matcha cream filling was rather bland and there was too much of it. Overall, it's nice to have a dessert place specializing in matcha in the Chinatown area (conveniently located as well). Stopped by here in Chinatown after seeing it on TikTok and it was phenomenal! It's decorated super cute and we were able to order on the kiosk and our ice cream was ready within a minute even though it was super busy. The matcha soft serve was so smooth and creamy and flavorful. Next time I will get the matcha vanilla swirl as this one was suuuper matcha-y. Cone was pricey at $7 but worth it. I went with some friends in the afternoon on a weekend and the place was busy as always. Typically there's limited seating so you'll have to take it to go. The matcha latte was pretty similar to any other matcha latte I've had at random coffee shops throughout the city and was a bit pricey for what it was. They use High quality matcha here and you can definitely taste it. I got the strawberry matcha latte and the bf got the black sesame matcha latte. Both were 10/10. The strawberry matcha was prob the best I ever had. We also got the matcha pudding which was okay prob 7/10. Easy access in chinatown with limited seating but I've come here a few times now just to order to-go. Have tried their crepe cakes, soft serve, and towel cakes of various flavors and have not been disappointed. The matcha flavor is what you come here for and that's what you get. However, there are other options that we tried such as the Ube or Earl Grey crepe layer cakes. The ube flavor in particular could've been a little stronger but the Earl Grey was delicious as well. There's quite a few different items on the menu so still trying to make my way out here to try each item on the menu. It was a pretty cute cafe, but the tables were pretty dirty and most chairs were not pushed in. The tray return was also filthy with many trays and plates stacked up and having not been attended to. At the time I visited, I was the only customer with a pending order, the other two parties had already been served, yet with three employees behind the counter, there was no one maintaining the seating or the tray return. I had ordered the Tiramisu Crepe Cake, which I did like, but I found that the pricing was quite expensive for a lackluster experience. There are other places to get tiramisu desserts in Chinatown Square for a better price, and with a cleaner interior. It feels a little silly that tip options start at 18% when the restaurant is not maintained during downtime. I would have been more understanding if it was actually busy, but I was unable to enjoy the ambience, and felt most comfortable quickly leaving after having finished my food. Unfortunately, I do not think I will have it in me to try this cafe again in the future with so many other options existing in Chinatown Square. read more
