Queue: Mater's Graveyard JamBooree has been given its Halloween overlay and it is a fun overlay. The photo ops are nice in the line but this goes relatively fast so be quick on the poses and the selfies. Attraction: This is the same Mater's Junkyard Jamboree ride but with different Halloween themed music. This is one of my favorite rides in DCA. I love that the height requirement is low. It is fun for the whole family. The fact that the music changes throughout the seasons, makes it a go to all year long. Also, different songs rotate throughout the day keeps this attraction from becoming stagnant. read more

I'm surprised that I've never been on this ride until now! I got to experience their Halloween reskin during Oogie Boogie and there was no wait whatsoever. This holiday version has spooky purple lights, Halloween decorations, fun Halloween themed music, and Mater telling spooky punny jokes. The ride itself is quite interesting and fun, you get swung around in the trailer/bed (???) of the tractor and I thought it was neat that the circle tracks at the bottom are interlocked with one another and you steadily move across the entire area and you're not just limited to one spot. We love riding on this with our 28 m/o toddler, but beware that it realllllly whips you around a few times, so if they parents aren't bracing their feet and holding onto the lap bar, you'll end up squishing your kid in the middle of you lol. Our son thinks it's all fun and games until one of the big whips hits, then the ride is kinda loud at that point, so he can get a bit meh towards the end ... but then always says it's fun once we get off! The lighting while standing in line, especially under the covered part of the line, makes for really good pics! read more

My three-year-old Leo B. loves Cars but is oddly terrified of the tractors. We've watched all three movies several times, and when he was smaller, he used to run out of the room whenever the tractors came on, sometimes closing the door or hiding behind furniture. Now he just says "I'm scared of the tractors" and makes me fast-forward the scenes. We brought him to California Adventure for the first time just before his third birthday, and we were all disheartened to learn that the toddler-friendly Mater ride was, in fact, full of those weird little tractors. I asked if he wanted to ride and he flat-out refused, almost crying when I carried him up to observe the spinning tractors. I guess he got braver in the next six months, because when we went back in October, he was all over Mater's Graveyard JamBOOree, the spooky version of Mater's Junkyard Jamboree. We had two-day park hopper tickets and hit this ride both days. The line wasn't long and it moved pretty fast. We were with our one-year-old, who is under the height requirement, so we also took advantage of the rider switch service. This allowed my husband and me to take turns riding with Leo without going through the line a second time. The ride was genuinely enjoyable, a spinning thrill ride that was fun and exciting without scaring our tractor-shy three-year-old. Mater sang the Monster Mash and other seasonally appropriate songs as we whirled around. Leo overcame a fear and got rewarded with four rides on Mater's Junkyard Jamboree. I assume there will be many more in the coming years, until he's tall and brave enough to tackle the big kid coasters. read more

Super fun ride geared for the tater tots in Cars Land in the California Adventure park. But anyone over 32 inches tall can ride it. I did, I totally enjoyed it. Hop on into the trailer that is hitched to a tractor for Mater's hoedown. As Mater sings out, the tractor & trailer spin around in a figure 8 circles as they square dance their tail gates off. Those tractors get whipped and spun around and so do you. The trailer fits 2 adults comfortably. The building for the attraction is cutely decorated like Mater's junkyard. Yay-hoo! read more

Remembering enjoying the ride when we visited last time. Must 32 inches tall to ride this. Two adults can comfortably ride in this trailer. It's a super fun ride, last just 90 seconds, And you may have a wait time of round 1 hour. Kids love Mater and really are crazy about him. It's spins around a lot but not scary at all. I love Mater's Jingle Jamboree. Disney decorates this particular ride for the holiday while holiday lights, music, and cool festivities! It's one of the first rides that you stumble upon as entering cars land. It's next to several small stand-up food stations. As soon as you walk in, you notice that it's Mater's outside work-shop. There are two different queue up stations for this ride. The ride is a lot of fun for the little ones! My daughter enjoyed this ride and it's one of our favorite one's in California Adventure. You sit in a small tractor, going in three different circles, and getting whipped around really fast! If you get dizzy really easy, I'd recommend avoiding this ride. The wait time is typically really short, even on the busier days, I don't see the wait time ever exceeding 30 minutes. There is no fast pass for this ride either. This is one fun, wild, and happy ride! Check it out while you're in Cars land at California Adventure! read more

I just love this ride. It makes me laugh every time I go on here. You just can't be in a bad mood with this ride. There is usually a short wait and this ride is well worth your time. The ride really swings you around and it can be quite deceiving as being a boring ride, which it is not. The set for the ride is thoughtful and interesting with an homage to Cars movie. This is such a cute ride. Our grandson went on 3 times and loved every minute. A little like a combination of teacups and tilt-a-whirl it is a great introduction to thrill rides for the younger set. Really great ride but may not be suitable for very young children as the ride, "whips" around. My 2-year old daughter didn't like the whipping but otherwise would have enjoyed the ride. Mater's Junkyard Jamboree is a rompin, stompin good time of a ride located in the Cars Land area of Disney's California Adventure. The ride itself is short in duration and very simplistic in nature but is put together in a fun and creative way that is sure to please riders of all ages. The ride itself is a whip style ride based off Mater's junkyard where each rider sits in a trailer which is being towed by a tractor and whips around a spinning track to the rhythm of the music. There are two sides to the ride and each houses around 15-20 tractors (2 seaters) and the line moves fairly fast. Any fans of the Cars movies will get a kick out of the ride and its colorful overtones and the Jamboree music performed by Larry The Cable Guy is fitting for such an event. One of the more enjoyable rides in Cars Land, and except on the most crowded of days, the line is tolerable. Speaking of the line, I like the "recent" addition of the "Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales" posters and artifacts. If you like Mater, you'll love the short Tall Tales cartoons (I tell ya, the stuff you know when you have kids...) Them Imagineers is clever, ain't they? This is one of the few rides at Disneyland where it pays to go with someone who weighs over 300 lbs. The spinning, whipping, and swinging action seems to be enhanced by the strain placed on the spring-loaded joint between the cars. However, you may get crushed or a broken hip if that giant person slides across the seat at you. Mechanically, you have been on this Whip N Whirl style ride before if you've ever been to a carnival or a county fair. Disney made it larger, and filled 'er up with the lore and decor of the beloved character from the Cars franchise. I still think they should have a Mater's Backwards Drivin' ride... But then, that's why they're Disney, and I work at a middle school. read more

This ride looked really deceiving when I was watching the tractors spin the carts around while waiting in line. It didn't look like it goes that fast at all. How the ride is designed looks very cute. As we were in line, we heard Mater tell a joke. It was so cheesy that we just looked at each other and made a face (I still love Mater though!). After we were seated in the ride, the tractor started off by going slow. Then within a few seconds, it started whipping us around pretty hard as we round the turns. It went around in circles and was also super rattly. I was totally caught off guard by the speed. Mater was also singing some songs in the background although it was difficult for me to pay attention because I was trying to keep composure. Mater's Junkyard Jamboree is similar to the Mad Tea Party ride at Disneyland except much more rattly, like you can feel the vibrations all over. Remember that scene in Cars when Mater strolls down the bumpy road that Lightning McQueen finished the first time around? Yeah, it feels like that and I kinda had his same reaction. Just writing about it is giving me a rattle effect in my ears. Overall, I thought it was a fun ride but the vibrations were a bit much. Just be sure to really tighten those seat belts! read more

Although you don't actually get to meet or see Mater on this ride, you get to enjoy the different songs Mater sings as you wait for this ride. My nephew even has a favorite one of the 7 different songs that are played. On this whipping ride, you get to ride on a little trailer attached to the back of one of Mater's little tractor friends. As the ride takes the little tractors in a figure 8 track, the back trailer whips around from left to right with the different turns. Part of the appeal is that younger guests (that are taller than 32 inches) may ride, and what kid doesn't adore Mater? I also know for a matter of fact that adults love this ride as well. One word of warning, smaller kids tend to slide on the seat despite the seat belt. My little nephew slid on one turn and knocked into the side of the trailer. Now I hold him close to me on the ride. Even an adult like me slides around, but I can use my feet and hands to brace myself for the turns and whips of the ride. This is one ride that we cannot miss on EVERY visit to California Adventure. read more

My son and I spent the Veteran's Day holiday at Disney's CA Adventure today, and as we were walking through Cars Land, he insisted we go on this. I did not want to as it is all about the spinning, and I have issues with spinning rides and have recently had a bad bout of vertigo. But my little guy insisted, so I sucked it up and we went. Luckily the line was short and we waited maybe 15 mins to get on, but the wait didn't bother me because as usual, the Disney/Pixar theming is so friggin good. The song Mater sings and all the junkyard signs and details are great - I especially liked the poster of "El Materdor" (see photo). The spinning wasn't as bad as I feared. But I'd forgotten that the ride can be quite jarring. When you switch from one spinning disc to another you really get whipped around. Each time that happened, my poor small son slammed into the side of the tractor seat or me from the force. So I put my arm around his shoulders to try and prevent him from smashing his body or head against the side. So please take note if you have little ones - it can be a little rough. Overall this was a fun ride - my boy loved it. Would I get on it again the next time we're there? Probably not if my husband is with us- I'll have him ride with our kiddo rather than risk getting sick from the spinning. read more

My daughter and I always tell everyone to try this ride because it's looks are definitely deceiving. It appears to be a slow moving kiddie ride, which it is, but it's sooo much fun for the adults as well!! Just watch the expressions of both the kids and adults on the ride. Their squeals of joy and smiles say it all... The little tractors whip you around corners unexpectedly on a figure 8 track in various circles without making you dizzy or nauseous like on the teacups or Flik's Flyers. I promise. You'll have to try it and see for yourself. This is my daughter's (and possibly Mommy's) favorite ride at California Adventure, so we always try to ride this twice while we are at the California Adventure side of the park. read more

Date of visit: March 26, 2016 We'd been putting off this ride as long as we could, due to the fact that we thought it was a kiddie ride. Well, after riding it, we could honestly say this - IT'S NO KIDDIE RIDE! Basically, Mater's Junkyard Jamboree bears a small resemblance to Luigi's Rollicking Roadsters in that you strap yourself into a tractor and get spun around to a prerecorded country track. But that's where the similarities end - the track is a figure 8, and you will get so whipped around fast that you won't have time to nae-nae! I would also like to take this opportunity to apologize to my girlfriend for smushing into her while we were being spun right round, baby, right round... even though there's a seat belt, it's big enough for two, possibly three people to share. Still, a good ride for the little ones, and the ones who are little at heart. Check it out when the line isn't so bad (oh, and that "petting zoo" next door with the baby tractor is cute)! read more

This ride is loads of fun! 3 kids can fit comfortably in one car. Remember the riders on the ends get smashed! The cars all kind of do a rhythmic spinning around the ride area. We love this ride mostly because of the happy dizzy feeling you get while riding. The line is never too long either. This ride is definitely a silver medal in my daughters list of must ride rides whenever we come to the parks This ride is located at the beginning of cars land right when you're walking in to the left hand side it has a very rustic woodsy vibe it is a tradition nontraditional track tape of ride where you are swaying spinning in the little tractors that mater loves to wake up in the middle of the night The music during this ride does feel very jamboree banjo very fun. There is a mini tractor outside of the ride to the right of the entrance for photo opportunities for people who don't wanna ride the ride but want to capture the memories The lines are usually pretty full for this ride but nothing too long or crazy I think the longest I have waited in line for this ride was maybe 20 to 30 minutes max read more
