What really sold me was their familiarity with the neighborhood I was moving into -- that local knowledge made the whole process smoother and gave me confidence right away. They coordinated with me while their team was on vacation and scheduled my move for the very next day after they returned. Alfredo took the time to speak with me directly on the phone, answered every question, and made sure everything was lined up. On move day, only half of the crew ended up being available, and without me even asking, Alfredo proactively discounted the price. That level of integrity and customer care is rare. Everything was handled efficiently and respectfully. 100 out of 100 -- I would absolutely use Making Moves again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, local movers.

You could say I have a lot of experience with movers as I inherited my father's personally woodworked furniture which added to my own collection that he made for me. I have a lot of sentimental (and heavy) stuff plus I have a herniated disc, so moving is even more overwhelming. And moving every year for so long has been so much less than ideal. I had a go-to mover but they didn't reply when I reached out so I figured I would try someone new out bc, maybe I can have options. Incredibly, Making Moves packed everything much more thoroughly and somehow the move seemed shorter...?! Even accounting for the shorter distance, this move was seriously fast but not lacking one bit in caution. And here is the kicker, it was less expensive too and the team was bigger. I still love the other mover but this team has beyond proved itself so I guess this is my first choice mover now. Treat this team right. They are in demand for a reason.

The living shades have the perfect visibility for our view to still come through, while making a huge difference in temperature from that afternoon Hawai'i heat. The bedroom shades are black out, just the way we like it and keep the room much cooler throughout the day. He definitely knows what to do and completes the work successfully and efficiently. He even carries a small dustpan/brush to clean up minor debris that has fallen from removing the existing fixtures. He had suggested to buy the new fixtures from Amazon since there's many choices. I scheduled with him once the new fixtures arrived. Again, another successful project done by Emmett! I asked Yelp for a recommendation and Oahu Windows and Doors contacted me very quickly. They said they would send Nick, "our repair guy," out to take a look and give me an estimate on a repair. Nick arrived exactly at the appointed time, took a quick look (and listen) at my door and diagnosed the problem in a minute or two. Then, since the problem was a seal on the door, asked me if I simply wanted him to remove the seal to stop the sound, and gave me the pros and cons of doing so. I said yes and he removed the seal and put things back together. He gave me some tips on what to use to lubricate the door, as well as--if I ever wanted to replace the door--what I should look for and how to save money. Nick was knowledgeable, personable and effective in solving my problem. I highly recommend Oahu Windows and Doors.
