Yesterday i spent two and a half hours on the phone with Microsoft. Ugh. Problem "mostly" solved, but not entirely. I knew it was just going to be a little tweak, but I didn't know what the tweak was. Jordan came to speak to Woodland Sponsors a couple of months ago and my boss saved his contact info, so I gave him a call this morning. We made an appointment to connect remotely this afternoon. he was right on time, i gave him access to my computer, he poked around and identified the problem within just a couple of minutes and I'm back in business!! Yaay. Jordan seems reasonably priced and only charges by the 10th of an hour for remote help, so it's much more economical. My 2010 Dell tower started having problems with Outlook (PST files are corrupt and I cant seem to repair) and I believe that the hard-drive is starting to go. Spoke to Tom about the issues over the phone and instead of a pricey repair (which would have benefited him) he suggested that based on the age of the machine it would be most advantageous to just buy a new one. He took the time to provide me with the best way to migrate my data and what to do should if I encounter any problems. I'm going with his recommendation and ordering a new machine tonight. I'm very impressed that he not only took the time with me on the phone but he also sacrificed the repair fees he would have made by repairing my outdated machine. Last Friday after my computer crashed and my regular tech person didn't call back, I called Matrix on Saturday. A woman I know recommended Matrix highly. From what he heard he kindly suggested it might be a better investment to replace my 7 year old, no longer supported, Windows XP. We made an appointment. I had just purchased two outdoor NEXT cameras and went online to find someone to install them for me. Jordan Gootnick had several good recommendations on a local website, so I called him and he came out to scope out the physical layout of our house. The more he delved into it, the more he shifted away from the cameras I had already purchased. One reason was the poor internet reception we had from certain areas of the property. Another was the monthly charge we would have to pay to be able to look at videos from our NEXT camera. And yet another was the cameras he installed (both the distance and clarity of the camera views, both at night and day, were superior). So he recommended an entirely different system than the NEXT system. We returned the NEXT cameras and we're delighted with the new camera views, the speed of the internet, and the fact there are no ongoing expenses. The cost was more to install the new system, but for something like theft, we felt it was easily worth the extra $. We highly recommend Matrix and Jordan Gootnick. He knows his stuff. read more

I had the pleasure of working with Jordan back in 2005-07 when he handled all of the IT issues for a small business where I was a partner at that time.
