Shrimp shumai, eel sushi main course, haru salmon (we'd eaten some of each before I took the photo)

The food here is spectacular. We've been here twice recently and both times we ordered their wonderful shrimp shumai and haru salmon. The shumai is made with fresh diced shrimp and comes out super hot, dumpling perfectly steamed, in a steamer basket. The salmon is the most delicious sushi I've ever had - soft like butter, spicy on top, a delish melange of flavor. Their miso soup is something special. All just wonderful. Great service too.

I have no complaints about the food. We mostly ordered some boring but tasteful Thai dishes so we never really saw what this restaurant was capable of. And I understand in large groups, sometimes the personal effect of proper service can be compromised. But there is no excuse for the waitress screaming at the patrons. Here is what happened. The waitress was behind me and she was clearly frustrated with the large group. Trying to get the groups attention, she actually screamed "who wants more wine?" And she screamed right into my ears as I was seated in front of her. I said "Don't scream in my ears!". And do you know her response? She said "well then, don't listen!" She simply could've said "I'm sorry" and that would've been the end of it!no yelp critique. The rest of the dinner was plagued with poor attention by the waitress. Dishes took over a half hour to come. No need for that. We were ordering noodle dishes, ten minute tops. Will I return?perhaps because they are the only game in town. They have a captive audience. Maybe the waitress was just having a bad evening. Still, there's no excuse for her behavior.

They…read morehave a wonderfully long happy hour every day lasting between 4pm and 7pm, meaning I can stop by before trivia, get a bunch of drinks and apps, and then do some trivia! Totally worth it and a really great way to spend a Thursday evening. Service is always kind, I tend to go in a small group with the intention of chatting, hanging out, and eating a few bites while we wait for trivia to start. We get in well before trivia so we never have issues with seating, but it starts to fill up as 7 rolls around! The chive bites are a showstopper--my friends and I almost always do 2 orders or more, and we love the sauce and dip everything else in it as well. The boneless wings are delicious and not a bar's typical "chicken nugget"-esque wing, but rather a really great fried bite. Their lemon drop is $6 during happy hour, so how could I not pick that as my drink of choice? And their spicy basil udon with chicken or tofu is delicious every time. Last night when I was there, the owner, Michael, gave us our shots for coming 3rd place in trivia and he was super pleasant! The whole place seems to have tons of events (like a Survivor watchparty night I'd love to catch!!) and just the best vibe ever. Pride flags are abound and it's a really great spot. Worth stopping by! I came for the trivia but found myself wanting to come to do more trivia just to get those happy hour appetizers and that spicy basil udon :)

This is, bar none, one of THE WORST meals I've ever had. I recently stopped in for a takeout lunch…read morefor the first time. Ordered the pork dumplings in hot oil, Udon chicken noodles, and glass noodles with chicken. All were terrible. Normally when I order hot oil dumplings, the amount of hot oil they are tossed in is generous and you sip up the oil with the dumplings. Not here. It's like they just drizzled the dumplings; and they were allegedly steamed, but it tasted more like they were microwaved, which is gross when originally serving a dish in a restaurant. The two noodle dishes were dry and the glass noodles did not have a hint of the garlic sauce they were supposedly cooked in and the chicken was either nuked or boiled. Again, gross. Not even a hint of stir fry and the veggies in the dish were chintzy. The Udon dish was slightly better and it might have been quickly stir fried, as it had some spice to it, but again, the chicken was as dry as in the glass noodle dish and sparse veggies. At $38.48 for this disaster, I felt it was a clear ripoff. I don't mind paying for food but when the quality is at max a 3 out of 10, I'm out. I should have known I was in trouble when I walked in and the dining area was mostly a bar. And that seems to be what this operation is: a bar that happens to serve Asian food. I have no idea how this place is averaging 4.5 for a rating on Yelp. Stay far away.

Waiter was friendly and gave us some time to make our selections. I chose the egg roll, tangerine beef. Hubby chose the orange chicken. I asked the waiter if the soda came in a can. He said yes. We then waited for our meal. He returned quickly with my soda, in a glass with lots of ice. Not what I expected. But I guess I wasn't specific about my drink order. My egg roll was good. Cut decoratively in half at an angle, piping hot. Our food arrived shortly. Both plates were generous and came with white rice. Cut a portion in small pieces to taste with rice. Tasted so good, burned my tongue a little it was so hot. Ate a bit more, and that's when my mouth started burning up! The dish was a little more spicy than I expected. Tried to eat more, but it was too much for me. My hubby on the other hand was in his glory. He Loves heat. The spiciest the better. He tried mine and said it was just as spicy as his, which he loved. So, I just thought we would take mine home for him to enjoy later. I have to say it was good, before I had to cry uncle. So would definitely have to return for another try and let them know I can't take the spiciness. I did notice that the restaurant was busy with takeout orders. So I guess that's their main business. So I wouldn't say this was a cozy place. But the food is good. Lots of parking outside since they're next to a supermarket and liquor store. There weren't any 'lunch' specials, so this was over $50 with tip. By the way, lots to choose from the menu. I only took pictures of some pages.

We went at 5:30 expecting to wait because it was small and "cozy" and it was Chinese New year. (1) no problem eating in during dinner hours (2) not a stitch of celebratory anything for Chinese New Year.. not even a place mat. No chinese noodles at the table and there was one continuous plain bench and brown tables (no table cloths) on the opposite side aka cafe style and cafeteria style seats. Hardly "cozy" at all. We ordered shrimp with then and they came with fried/tempura shrimp, which we found odd. There was also egg on the dish but it did nothing for the noodles. We ordered the noodles regular so they should have had some sauce but there was none. The chicken dishes were both really good. The chicken wasn't overly fried or breaded. It tasted fresh and had a good bite to it. I like the spicy garlic chicken a bit more because of the spice. The haka chicken was more of a sweet and salty flavor. Both were tasty. That would've easily fix that dish and balanced it with a sweet and savory combo. The ramen was solid, egg was seasoned and cooked just right. The broth was good and mixed well with the chili oil.
