Spicy Mango Shrimp Roll Shrimp Tempura Roll

Needed a quick before catching my train. Went to Matsuri! We ordered the Spicy Maki Combo, mango shrimp roll, shrimp tempura roll, and the Matsuri Ramen. The spicy maki combo was decent! I'm no fish expert (the 3 rolls all looked the same). But they all tasted fresh and had their distinct flavor. Very delicious. The mango shrimp roll and shrimp tempura roll were both good. Mango sauce was sweet and but not overpowering. Tempura was crispy and the sauce on top was good. The Matsuri ramen was average, broth didn't have much depth. Noodles okay, meat okay. Overall Matsuri is a good fast comfort spot. Nothing flashy but acceptable.

Great service and sushi is fresh. Delivery service is quick. Once you order they have on file what you previously ordered and assist you if you don't remember what enjoyed last time. Ambiance is welcoming !

I enjoy looking into sushi lunch specials, so I decided to try that of Matsuri for takeout. I ordered two 3 roll specials ($15.50 each) that come with miso soup or salad: chose the eel avocado, spicy tuna, yellowtail scallion, yellowtail scallion, spicy mango shrimp, and Alaska roll. The rolls don't have too much rice. I would only order the eel avocado and spicy mango shrimp again next time though. I was not a fan of the other rolls. Additionally, I ordered both the chicken and pork katsu bento box ($14 each), which comes with miso soup, salad, fried shumai, California roll, and rice. Both were good, affordable, and satisfying.

Ordered from here on Ubereats and they definitely have fresh and tasty sushi, unlike some places if you order delivery it doesn't come as fresh. Prices are decent and they have a lot of menu options to choose from sushi or other types of Japanese food. Definitely recommend if you're looking to order out or dine in if you're in the area.

I tried this restaurant yesterday for the first time and loved the food! It tastes so fresh! We ordered spicy crunch salmon roll, Dynamite roll, Viking roll and a kani salad. The kani salad was a big portion! All of the rolls were very tasty. The service was good, attentive. Indoor seating available, there is no outdoor seating. I will be back again

A friend wanted to meet here for dinner & I can never say no to sushi (pro - it's right off the 61st train station) It's like a hole in the wall, the inside is small but the staff greeted us & sat as down quickly. We ordered kani salad & chasu bun as our appetizers! It was good but I think the prices were a little expensive (especially for the woodside area!) As for dinner, I ordered 2 rolls (California roll & shrimp tempura) & she ordered shrimp noodles! My rolls were okay - I expected them to be tastier?? My friends noodles were a nice portion, came with miso soup but she also stated that it lacked flavor! All in all, I might come back again for the convenience & maybe try a lunch special since the regular prices are on the pricier end!

Came here with my boyfriend, he loves sushi so he said this one in Woodside is the best. I ordered pork Gyoza's like I usually do when I go to sushi spots; they were tiny and delicious. We came an hour before closing, the hostess let us know awkwardly but she still let us sit down. The food was overall delicious and the waiters were attentive.

This is probably my favorite Japanese restaurant in town. The service is very friendly and quick. The prices are a bit high than other places but it is totally worth it and obviously the Matsuri ramen is the main event and every time i go it's top-notch. Also don't skip the desserts, they have a lot of options to choose from. They also have a sushi bar. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes to eat japanese food. read more

I love this place not only because it's a few blocks away from me, but their food is really good as well. They have really good lunch specials which is what I usually order and leaves me super full. I either get a three/two roll combo or their chicken katsu bento box. read more

Amazing restaurant in a great location right under the subway. The interior is designed well and is very clean. The waiters and owner are very kind and make sure youre taken care of. The quality of the sushi is outstanding, I wasnt expecting sushi of that quality but it exceeded all of my expectations. Everything from the raw fish to the hot dishes are done very well, and I have found myself ordering from here super often. One of the best restaurants in Woodside, if not the best. read more

Newest Japanese Restaurant in Woodside. The restaurant was quite crowded for dinner, which is likely in part due to their 15% grand opening special. Their food tastes fresh, and the service is on point as they aim to please. The atmosphere is somewhat utilitarian, however the location is great, located directly underneath the 61st St. Woodside station. The menu is pretty standard Japanese fare, though well executed. This restaurant will likely do well, given its good food, excellent service and location. read more

The food was amazing ! I got the chicken teriyaki bento box and shrimp tempura roll. Although it was a little on the pricier side, I really did enjoy my meal. I also forgot to ask for soy sauce and chopsticks, but they made sure to add them inside my bag! read more

Awesome prices, for good food. If you get a chance to order the lunch specials, the price is very nice: 3 rolls for 11$, bento boxes for 12$. Rolls taste great, my favorites are the spicy mango shrimp, and four seasons. Duck roll is interesting too if you are a duck fan. read more

Friendly staff. Quick service. But most of all, good flavorful food. I had the had pork gyoza as an appetizer. They were pan fried perfectly...nice crisp on the bottom, without making the rest chewy. Next I had the beef yaki udon. Nicely prepped with a good balance of udon noodles, beef, and vegetables. Again, great flavor and seasoning. All around great experience for my first time here. Give a shot, and hopefully you'll have a great experience like I did. read more

Don't order delivery from this place. Use to be good not anymore. Delivery took over an hour to go 5 blocks. Food arrived cold, sent it back. I spent $42 for cold food? No way! Person answering phone hung up on me 5 times before I lost my composure. They told me never to order from them again and they didn't care if they lost my business! In the time of a pandemic and businesses need money...this one doesn't care about anything. Order from another restaurant. Problem has been resolved. They made good on their word read more

Edit: JUST as I finished this review, my delivery came. Their deliveries are always quick! These guys are so great! Thank you!! I've ordered delivery from all the Japanese restaurants in the Woodside/Maspeth area and Matsuri is, hands down, the best. Beside the delicious, quality food and extremely neat and carefully packed deliveries, (seriously, as busy as they are, they always pack with extreme care!) their customer service and delivery men are the friendliest you'll meet. I tend to stick to the same orders at restaurants but Matsuri always meets beyond my expectations that I find myself trying something new for each order...and loving it! I've had the bento boxes, simple rolls, tempura rolls, the hibachi pineapple fried rice---all delicious! Last week, I loved the Spicy Lover roll and the beef udon soup. I've yet to experience a dine-in and I'm sure it'll be an excellent meal when it happens. Thank you Matsuri!! read more

We started with calamari and it was crunchy but the sauce was okay (not thick). Tried their chicken katsu bento box and beef yaki udon (no photos), both were very delicious and affordable. Although the yaki udon looked pale than the photo on the menu, it was surprisingly tasty. The bento box is a complete meal with spring rolls, shumai, salad, soup, rice, sushi and your choice of meat. The desserts were all mouthwatering. The creme brûlée was creamy and sweet, the tempura ice cream (green tea) was my favorite minus the tempura ( the coating) I should just have ordered the green tea ice cream by itself, the bomba got three flavors on it, also very good! I forgot the name of the other dessert but it was also good! All the platings of the desserts were excellent. We enjoyed every bite of it. The place looked cozy and clean! We will definitely go back and try the other entrees on their menu. read more

Matsuri is conveniently located across from the LIRR, steps away from the 7 train, and directly in front of bus stop. Not only can anyone easily get there, the food is exceptional !! I've been to the cliché Nobu and Matsuri is the best sushi I've tasted. The owner takes pride in his restaurant and does everything from cooking to serving to enjoying a beer or cocktail by the bar with his customers!! read more

The Sushi Pizza was tasty, although thought some may think it was a little pricey for the size. The flavorful tongue in the Cheley Khatsa was tender, as expected. Glad I didn't get it spicier! It came with white rice, which helped. Although I'm not often in this section of Jackson Heights, might consider stopping by another time to check out other specialties. Recommend you check it out as well.
