    Agua bar

If you are looking for fast food but Mexican, I recommend this place. Aguas are pretty good. They let you sample. They have 2 sizes, regular and large. Large is pretty big, I couldn't finish it. I really liked the blueberry coconut water. My wife had the horchata. It was ok for me. Food: They have several options but I had been craving flautas forever so I tried them. Nothing wow but they are fully stuffed with chicken(not skinny kind). My wife ordered the Miners bowl which she liked a lot. Good amount of food. I'll go back to try their brisket next.

New Mexican cuisine place on the west side - near Cabelas! They're known for their Agua Frescas - they have so many different flavors. Everything is very reasonably priced! Three tacos, rice, beans - all for 9.99. It was decent, but the rice was really good. Friday and Saturday's they have brisket as an option. We ordered chips and gauc , it wasn't on the menu but they do have it as well as two salsa types. This place just opened so the line is pretty long and everyone is new, so have to be patient with that. Decent amount of seating. We will be back!

    Hatch green enchiladas with chicken

Stopped by Matteo's recently and tried the hatch green enchiladas. I also ordered a fresa crema agua. Meal was out within 5-10 minutes. So I noticed the enchiladas were flat instead of rolled, not used to that..still looked delicious. Tried cut into the it with my fork was a process, shoulda asked for a knife. Anyhow, the rice and beans weren't anything special but the green chile sauce did have a kick, wasn't hot but kinda spicy. Overall not the best I've had, ain't the worst either. I'll be back to try a different plate..

Menu- great stuff here for a good price!

This was my first visit and I was looking forward to an exciting food experience. So the prices were great for the portion size. I wanted to try two things so I asked for the orders to be packed into go containers even though I was going to sit for a minute and taste. I only gave it four stars because the food tastes exceptionally salty to me and there seemed to be no other taste- Holy Smokes do I have Covid???!!! The fries were super plentiful and the bright green sauce was so picturesque but I was looking for taste and all I got was salt. The chicken flautas were filled beautifully! They were nicely rolled and beautiful look at. Another generous portion- there were three of them and they were big, plus rice, beans topped with cheese and shredded lettuce. So I went to bite into the flauta and it was as if the oil in the deep fryer was not hot enough. The shell was crispy but soaked up too much of the oil and that permeated the flavor. The management and staff deserve kudos for staying on top of the place. They cleaned tables and the chairs as soon as customers left and were constantly sweeping the floor. This was excellent. Because this is a great family style place, it can get messy quickly with little kids dropping stuff but the staff was on top of it. Another great thing is that the containers to go are really good. I will be back to try them again.

So yummy! I really enjoy their chicken flautas..the service is really good. The cashier offered me samples of their fresh juices and they were so good-wow, wasn't expecting that. I like that the ambiance is more of modern taco shop vibe. Looking forward to trying more of their menu :)

    Brisket fries

Been here at least 3x and not impressed with different items I've tried. This time I tried the brisket fries but for 11.99 I expected more meat and cheese to match the fries. It was lightly sprinkled with flavorless brisket and hardly any cheese. I asked for salsa and was told they have green chile for an extra $1 (tiny portion). In addition, fries were very soggy and not seasoned. Picture shows ratio of fries. Note: Aguas frescas are pretty good though. I believe they were $5 at 1st but today paid $6. Other items I've tried-Matteo Bowl, Carne Asada fries and Carne Asada nachos.

When you advertise a plate and it says rice and beans and I pay 10$ a plate. Don't short change me. Torta tiny had one yesterday was a lot better plus today I purposely ordered on line ordered the plates didn't get the rice and beans. Food is good but the rest is not. Very small portions don't include what menu says go to Los Jarrones instead better value.

Ok, so I went back and.. hands down the Carne Asada tacos are FAR SUPERIOR to the green Chile chicken "enchiladas" so I'm updating my review and rating. But I still think the Matteo's burrito is way overpriced..

The food and drinks are delicious, and there is plenty of options to choose from. The staff is really nice too. Great location as well. Lots of shops nearby and Flix Brewhouse.

Went here to see what the hype was all about. No bueno! Food has no taste. Cheap quality, over priced. Go to Chipotle instead.

While the food was never the primary…read morereason I returned, the excellent margaritas and outstanding service kept me coming back for nearly two decades. Unfortunately, that loyalty came to an end after a recent experience that was both disappointing and unacceptable. My family and I chose this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. Every guest paid separately, and there were no issues during the evening itself. However, as the event concluded, multiple attendees, including family members and in-laws, overheard servers making derogatory comments about our party. Among the remarks were that we were "ungrateful," "cheap," and "broke," along with other inappropriate comments that no customer should ever have to hear. I brought the matter to the attention of ownership, hoping for a meaningful resolution. While I was told the employees had been reprimanded, the proposed remedy was a $25 gift card. After nearly 18 years of patronage, the response felt dismissive and only added insult to injury. What disappoints me most is not simply the behavior of the staff, but the lack of accountability and concern shown afterward. This was a place I once considered a reliable and welcoming destination for family gatherings and celebrations. Sadly, that trust has been lost. As a result, I will no longer be returning or recommending this establishment to friends, family, or colleagues. Respect for customers should be a fundamental part of any hospitality business, and in this case, that standard was not met.

The food arrived within about 10 minutes for our group of six, which was impressive. The complimentary fried tortillas were very good, and the salsa was enjoyable as well. I ordered al pastor tacos. The flavor was good, but the meat was very dry. I liked the portion size, especially the amount of meat, but it would have been excellent if it were not so dry.

About 8 large chile toreados, grilled onions.and plenty of corn tortillas. The charro beans were mostly bean soup. I actually poured some of the bean soup into a bowl so we could serve ourselves to avoid some spilling. The baked potatoes were generously bathed in butter. They did not provide any other toppings for the potatoes. Personally I think some sour cream, or Mexican crema de la Mesa, some chives, some other toppings would have been nice. The queso fundido was good but also a disappointment. It was missing the chorizo that I had paid extra for. The meat was very good. Well done but not dry or hard to chew. I was pleased to see that the chicken was not cooked into dryness. We did come across a couple of meat grisel or what in Spanish is called "nervio". This place has a small sign that states that if you pay with a credit card a 3% service charge will be added to your bill. I am pretty good with math and I pointed out to the cashier that they actually charge 4%. He did make a correction on my bill. Be ware of your bill. Otherwise they do give you plenty of food. It reminds me of a Mexican parrillada/ grilled cook out. The food here was very good, good tasting, and in spite of the small glitches worth it. We will be returning again.

Looking back, El Cometa is what started my taco obsession. Their tacos al pastor con queso are so good. The marinated pork is perfectly seasoned, a little greasy in the best way, and topped with melted cheese. One thing I love is their salsa bar. I always grab the red salsa, green salsa, and guacamole. I pile all three on my tacos, and every bite is amazing. Their tacos remind me of my favorite tacos at the resort my family visited every summer in Cancún. Even though it has been years since I have been there, El Cometa brings those memories back with every bite. The staff is incredible. Last summer, the hostess recognized me right away and seated me immediately. She even remembered my order. I order the exact same thing every visit: tacos and two cans of Sprite. The fact that she has been there since I first started coming in 2019 makes every visit feel like coming home. From 2019 until I moved away in 2022, I went there almost every week. To eat here, everyone lines up at the cashier to place an order, but somehow I always felt like royalty. The staff knew me, and every visit felt welcoming. El Cometa never disappoints.
