Dined: 5/27/26 We arrive on Key West via Celebrity Reflection cruise ship. We wanted to find the best Key Lime Pie on the island. This place is absolutely the BEST! The crust is phenomenal and the filling is perfectly balanced (not too tart). We even saw him making the pies! I also ordered their Frozen Limeade drink ($6). PERFECT drink for the humidity and temperature. The baker/server was extremely friendly and fast! If you love Key Like Pie, Mattheessen's is THE PLACE! We will be back!

What a cookie, these are good and tasty. We rated the chocolate chip that we had as better than average but not great. The service is quick and the staff was fine. The store was clean and the cookies are laid out well in the display cases.

Super friendly! Excellent advertising with the sheer size! Multiple locations across the island

My kids say this is the best ice cream they have ever had. The chocolate dipped key like pie was so good too!

Freshly squeezed lemonade for me in the door, but the homemade giant chocolate chip & pecan cookie with warm ice cream made us stay. The shop is located in the middle of a busy (even on a Wednesday) street, filled with shops and visitors. We paid to park a few blocks away. The four stars is for the 5-star price. That lemonade was small for $7 and the cookie and ice cream, while tasty was $17. I'd still consider visiting again for the key lime pie.

Homemade ice cream and huge delicious cookies. THE BEST! A must visit. Right across the street from La Concha hotel.

First of all the smell is encapsulating! The homemade waffle cones, cookies, fudge!! It all looked so appealing! The service was fantastic and we tried several types of icecream and they were creamy, full of flavor and perfection!

Impressive bakery. Huge cookies, macaroons and chocolate dipped key lime pie! We opted for just a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie and it was delicious! Warms and soft but crispy on the edges. Service was good and happy to serve you. Cute shop!

Wowzer! Their cookie with chocolate and pb fudge is rich and definitely a little piece of Heaven! Our kids had chocolate ice cream. They loved it. The cashier was super friendly as well.

This was such a fun place with great local ice cream, the really fun part is checking out the local Keylime pie that was made just right and then dipped in chocolate. I never experienced such a thing before, but I really love it. The customer service was awesome. Highly recommended!

It's close to Mallory Square, and they even have their own space where the pies are made. I chatted briefly with the staff, and they told me that yes, this really is the place where it all started. They also mentioned that many other spots claiming to be "the original" actually get either their ingredients or their pies from here. Overall, it's a cute little spot. Besides pies, they sell cupcakes, coffee, and a variety of general goodies and touristy items. We grabbed a small, cozy two seater high table by the window and enjoyed their tart pie. And yes--be ready for that sharp tang that hits your jaw at first and then grows on you! There are benches outside too, and it felt peaceful sitting there. The pie costs $7.

I am a stickler though on the fact that I will refuse any specimen that is green in color since it's screams inauthentic. One of my local friends even handed me a coupon for this place, so it was one of three pie concoctions that we sampled during our vacation. Lucky us! The staff here are welcoming and able to handle crowds efficiently and kindly. The store is incredibly cute and has a wide array of Key lime products as well as souvenir type inventory. Great place to perhaps do one-stop shopping if customers are pressed for time or just don't like to spend time at multiple places. The pie was delicious. Tart, sweet, fresh, cool, refreshing, and nice crust. Highly recommend!

The decor is seductive in such a tasteful and classy way, everything is so romantic. It's beautiful. Cozy, intimate booths. Sparkling chandeliers flickering in candlelight. Ambient lighting. It is a perfect place to end your evening with your partner. We made reservations the morning of, on a Wednesday evening for our anniversary, and were seated promptly. Service was incredible from start to finish. I appreciate their ipad menus with questions to ask your partner, peruse the menu, and read about the origins. There are plenty of drinks and deserts with double entendre names, they're so fun. Huge positive that they have virgin drinks, and several to choose from. Both deserts we tried were out of the world delicious. The missionary crisp ice cream and flavor was 10/10, no notes to improve. Key lime from behind was the best key lime I've had in my life and quickly became the best we have tried on Key West. Incredible and what a lovely place!!

Romantic lighting and private booths made for some good ambiance. The iPad menus were great and very useful in selecting desserts and drinks. Everything on order is accompanied by a double entendre title, which makes it fun to pick. Candy rimmed beer was good; and the berry crisp and ice cream offerings were tasty. Honestly too big, even for two. But they were trying to do something different. To know: they do not have a license for hard liquor. A fun spot to have a sweet treat. Maybe don't bring the kids.

The service was quick and there was some seating outside with some sand so even though it is a few blocks inland there was still a relaxed, beach feel to the place. I got the coconut joy mini donuts and my boyfriend got the chocolate paradise ice cream. The mini donuts did get a little soggy from the toppings so I would maybe eat a little faster than I did (though I didn't take an unreasonable amount of time) or go for the ice cream. I think Rooster Treats is a fun change of pace from the more traditional storefronts lining Duval Street. Instead of a typical shop, it operates out of a permanent trailer. You order from a raised deck platform, then head down to enjoy your treat at one of the tables set up in a makeshift sandy beach area. The whole setup works surprisingly well. It gives you that relaxed, toes-in-the-sand feeling, almost like you're unwinding right by the water. It has a great vibe. We're not huge fans of soft serve, mainly because the flavors and textures can feel limited. Rooster Treats makes up for that with the generous amount of toppings you can add. I ordered the Chocolate Paradise, which came with chocolate drizzle, sprinkles, and Oreo crumbs. It was delicious, and the portion size was very good. Glad we checked it out before heading home.
