It's not the food that bothers me, it's the music, really good choice of music and i love the live music, but the volume, it's so low, i can't hear anything, and i have perferct ears! Took 3 golfing biddies from Tampa for dinner at Mattison's City Grill. We were seated quickly. Our waitress appeared right away. Drinks were promptly delivered and were all perfect-as ordered. I had the bbq ribs and was pleasantly surprised at the weariness and tenderness. The sauce complemented the pork. The crispy grouper sandwich was said to be well done. Another friend had a sushi roll which was greatly enjoyed. All in all, a pleasant meal was enjoyed. Only drawback was a leaky roof. Will return. read more

We've dined at Mattison's many times the last couple of years. We love the outdoor feel of the restaurant. The food is always delicious. This particular evening, we were meeting friends from home (MI) for dinner and conversation. Our server, Pam, was very attentive. The only down side of the evening was the loud band performing on the other side of the dining area. They were very good, (We enjoyed dancing to their tunes on Valentine's Day.) but it was very hard to carry on a conversation during their sets. read more

I was staying at the Courtyard across the street and the front desk guy said the food here was good and they had TVs to watch basketball. Well, the food was good but they only have one small TV in a very small bar area. I had the fish and chips and it was really good. The batter on the fish was very tasty and the fish itself was light and flaky. The fries had a little seasoning of some kind that was quite good as well. My son had the burger. It was very big and he said it tasted good as well. The service we had was excellent. Our waiter checked on us frequently enough to be helpful without being annoying. All in all I would say that if I were in the area again and wanted a place to eat, I would keep this on the list. If I want a place to watch a game, not so much. read more

Met friends yesterday for lunch at Mattison's. What a disappointment. We have gone to this restaurant for many years and always enjoyed the outdoor seating and the food. While the outdoor seating was still there, although buggy, the food was not very good. My husband specifically told the server that he was allergic to cheese, and both items he ordered came sprinkled with cheese. The accompanying lamb chops for his salad where dry and tasteless. My breakfast "hashbrowns" were ordinary fries and my toast arrived at the end of my meal. The other two salads were underdressed and the accompanying chicken was tasteless. Upset with myself for suggesting that we meet here, especially with a 35 minute drive. Unless they improve service and food, we will be going to other places. read more

Mediterranean Ceviche $12 Shrimp & white fish, tomato, lemon juice, capers, olives, shallots, toasted pita bread OK, there was ONE shrimp on the plate & the rest was in a small mini bowl. This is more like a soup but no spoon included. ACK! Billy Rice was advertised to be there as entertainment....no Billy AGAIN! The calamari was crisp and fresh and not overly breaded and definitely not chewy at all. And the bruschetta was great. Dinner was artichoke appetizer and sushi...both were good not outstanding. For lunch the next day we had blue cheese bruschetta which was very good and also "lump crab cakes". Went there for the first time last night. Ordered fish and chips. Took over half hour to get only after complaining to the waiter. Food came out soggy and only warm. Obviously sat in kitchen. Sent it back and replacement was mediocre at best. Waiter never checked on food until I finally complained about the wait. Same with drink orders. Waiter never checked on any orders. His reply was "I put the order in". Everybody at our table had to wait forever for simple food orders. Only good thing there was the music. Waited forever for our bill also. WOW! Great service from Ryan on Saturday night. Very friendly, made great recommendations and was attentive. Great band playing, nice outside setting with Tiki torches and plenty of seating. They have music 6 nights a week. They have a big bar too. Food was fantastic. Ribs that fell off the bone, great bbq sauce and flavor. Cole slaw that had a nice touch of apples and cranberries. Chicken was super moist and flavorful. Sweet potato / Brussel sprout / bacon hash was really good and fresh, great addition to the chicken. Menu had a large selection. Terrible service, food just OK. We went for dinner with another couple at 5:30 last evening. 2 hours later, we were done. Our server, Devon forgot to put our order into the computer, then lost it entirely. He never checked on us for 45 minutes. When we called him over to the table, he realized his mistake. We asked for the manager. She did her best to try to make up for this goof, with complementary drinks and appetizers. Just had brunch here, Ordered their omelot cooked soft and it arrived dry and very over cooked. The toast was cold and not buttered and no butter on the table. Had a bloody mary and I don't know if it was the mix they use or if it was watered down. My husband ordered eggs over easy and they were pulverized.
