Terrible service, food just OK. We went for dinner with another couple at 5:30 last evening. 2 hours later, we were done. Our server, Devon forgot to put our order into the computer, then lost it entirely. He never checked on us for 45 minutes. When we called him over to the table, he realized his mistake. We asked for the manager. She did her best to try to make up for this goof, with complementary drinks and appetizers. However, the food itself was just OK, certainly not worth waiting an hour-and-a-half for. WE WILL NOT RETURN TO MATTISON'S! read more

Just had brunch here, Ordered their omelot cooked soft and it arrived dry and very over cooked. The toast was cold and not buttered and no butter on the table. Had a bloody mary and I don't know if it was the mix they use or if it was watered down. My husband ordered eggs over easy and they were pulverized. Went here the other day. The bartender Danica recommended an artichoke pizza that was absolutely fabulous. The live music is phenomenal and drinks were on point all night. We have been going here for a few years now. In the past, the service was horrible but then we got Pam as a server. Game changer. I always ask for her now. She made all the difference! Having Mother's Day brunch here. This is the worst experience ever. Our server Michelle was amazing but the kitchen was extremely slow it took over an hour for our food and I'm dining with a 5yr old and 7 yr old . This is appalling. We went to the restroom and the manager just tried to rush us out of the bathroom even though my 5 yr old is using the restroom. I would not recommend this place to anyone! We had thanksgiving lunch at Mattisons and it was very nice. Great service from the hostess to the serving staff. We had the traditional turkey dinner and it was very fresh and well prepared. Stayed next door at the Courtyard by Marriott and was really disappointed​ with our meal. Based on the prices and menu, we expected great quality and an incredible experience. Unfortunately what we got was a flavorless meal that seemed like a novice chef was behind the grill tonight. Started with the calamari appetizer which was average at best. Followed by a chicken burger (meh!) and some delicious sweet potato​​ fries (best item of the night). Both salads were poor knockoffs of stellar items at better restaurants and my ribs fell off the bone...along with the flavor. A chain BBQ joint on their worst night would have had better ribs! Finished it up with key lime pie that tasted old and was easily the worst I've ever had. Suggestion: serve a frozen pie from the grocery store before making patrons have to eat that one. As I'm writing this, I'm sitting in our hotel wishing we could go over and enjoy another meal during our stay. After this experience, my taste buds just can't trust next time will be better at Mattison's. I will say that Hatley Band did a good job engaging with the crowd with their music. I am brand new to the area. And moved from Seattle wa to Bradenton Florida . Tonight was my first evening in town . I decided to walk to Mattisons Riverwalk Grille to check out my surroundings and grab a bite to eat . Not only was the food incredible my waiter Devon was one of the most kind and genuine young men I have ever come across . He made my dining experience exquisite. Such a warm welcome to the city . I had the scallop dinner followed by the most incredible key lime pie I've ever tasted both melted in your mouth . Had lunch again at Mattison's Riverwalk. I ordered the lamb chop salad. YUMMY! The lamb chops really were very good. There were 3 of them and that was perfect for a lunch. Our server was a sweet young lady, very attentive without being "too there". Hubby had the chicken sandwich and liked it. I would order the lamb chops again any day. I probably will next time if they are on the menu. Oh, I almost forgot, the salad wasn't over-dressed. Is that a word? I have on occasion had just too much dressing so always order it on the side but forgot this time. We actually have never had a bad meal there. We went with family (8) who were visiting a year and a half ago and despite being slammed she got all the drink orders right and the dinners came promptly and hot. The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is the appetizer we had: the collard wontons, were very good. I had pizza and salad. Pizza wasn't good at all, came out cold. Salad had old greens that were wilted. Husband had a grouper sandwich that he wasn't crazy about. Grouper wasn't fresh. Service was awful. So slow. We were there for two hours. Our server disappeared and was no where to be found. We sat for over 45 minutes awaiting to pay. Won't be back. read more

This place used to be one of our favorite spots. However, we had a horrible experience Saturday night. we were seated for 1.5 hours and still did not have our entrees. Our waitress had an attitude and was very rude. Finally I asked for boxes and said we would take the 2 entrees homes We also requested the check. I asked how long it would be until the food was ready. Waitress had no idea. We spoke to manager and she couldn't give us an answer either. So after 2 hours, we left, never receiving our dinner. Skip the brunch food, they've cut corners but not pricing, food is bland and presentation is pathetic. Atmosphere was great. There is a section for people with dogs to eat separate from everyone else. The appetizer was good but the meat was not cooked to temperature it was well done. I had to send it back and the replacement was also well done. I'm not sure why that was an issue. At least they took it off the bill, but at $20 for one filet medallion it should be cooked properly. Went there Wednesday night and enjoyed our visit. We're fans of Mattison's and have gone to other locations and always liked the food. They did a temperature check and (almost) everyone was wearing masks. We liked that they sanitize the salt and pepper shakers. Our waitress Pam was terrific - attentive, but not overbearing. Grouper Piccata (my favorite) and Greek Salad with baby lamb chops were excellent. Our one complaint is that we noticed the bartender (who made our drinks) was the only one not wearing her mask.
