We have been shopping for a new mattress for a while and were ready to make the purchase from a well-known furniture/bedding retailer but thought we should look in Sleepy's before committing. I have hated this entire process and have not liked ANY of the sales people we had encountered so far. We were greeted at Sleepy's by Paola who turned out to be a breath of fresh air! Paola was very knowledgeable about the different products and certainly did not have that "used car salesman" attitude that we have encountered during our search at other stores. She was so friendly and encouraged us to take our time sampling the different mattresses she was showing us. She made us even more comfortable by giving us our privacy when testing the mattresses that we liked. There's nothing worse than that awkward feeling of having the sales person stare at us while we're lying on the different beds. We ended up purchasing a Tempur-pedic set from Sleepy's (which was not the brand we were intending to purchase from the other retailer). It would have been typical for me to have gone out and comparison shopped the pricing on Tempur-pedic but we were so happy with our sales person, Paola, we bought it from her. The delivery was made the next day. The delivery men were very nice and good at their job. They were also very respectful of our house. I have never been a big fan of Sleepy's but this was definitely a positive experience. read more

We had a sleep number bed for years, recently it started to become uncomfortable, so we were in the market for a new mattress. We did consider another sleep number bed, however, we also wanted to look into your traditional mattress again. My husband first went by himself, when he came home he suggested I visit the Commack store because there were a few mattresses I should look at (lay on). He also said I should deal with Stephen, because he was very impressed with his knowledge and his salesmanship. A few days later I met my husband there and we jumped from bed to bed. We narrowed it down, but were on a tight schedule and told Stephen we would be back over the weekend to purchase a mattress. We went back and spent another hour making up our minds. During that time Stephen sold mattresses to two other families before signing us up. As he was helping those customers he never forgot about us. He never made us feel rushed or pushed us into making a decision to get us out of the store. Both my husband and I were extremely impressed with his ability to handle three different customers at the same time. At this point I can only comment on the service we experienced at the store, but we are really excited to receive our new mattress. Sleepy's The Mattress Prefessionals....And that is exactly what I found at their Commack store...PROFESSIONALS! A well dressed young sales rep by the name of Stephen De Angelis greeted me as I entered the store at 10am on a Saturday morning. A friend of mine had recently purchased an electric bed from another Sleepys and she has been so insanely happy with it (she has anyone who visits her try her electric bed...no kidding) I figured I will stop at a Sleepy's and check it out. Stopping at the Commack store was "chance", having Mr De Angelis there that morning was "fate". He was everything a sales person should be...Knowledgable, not pushy, and able to LISTEN to what you want within the price point you are able to spend and assist you in finding exactly what you are looking for!!! Everything including the financing was completed within 40 minutes.....He really made it so easy to purchase the perfect bed for me. This is the second time I have purchased a mattress set from a Sleepys store and I can honestly say I would strongly suggest anyone who is in the need of a mattress to give Mr De Angelis a call.By the way, my electric bed and mattress was delivered yesterday and I LOVE it !!! Paul Licari (Sleepy's representative) was very helpful in the assessment of physical analysis regarding this customers total comfort and / or physical handicaps associated with the alignment of back support that constitutes medical management of posture support and lumber spine issues. I am very happy with his attention and recognize that this is a serious inquisition to purchasing the right mattress set and am in search of the right match that will accomodate comfort, stability, and a good nights sleep. Other wise the search is null and void of any reasonable evaluation and/or his services would not constitute the customers lack of expertise in this area or quest. The service was quite appreciated and He is thorough, adequate and equipped to represent this facilities best interest. May God bless his compassionate yet professionalistic nature and continue to use him as a vessle towards tototal wellness associated with the totality of SERENITY during the day and at night always. As a follow up to my first review of Sleepy's, my husband & I are very pleased with how we were treated & helped on Sunday, August 19th. Our mattresses & adjustable beds were delivered as promised. The mattress was too high, even though we took measurements & thought it would work. Needless to say I was upset. However, after call the store & speaking with Mike I knew this situation would be resolved. We went to the store, tested another mattress & figured out which one would work best & be the right height. It was an even exchange...no out-of-pocket expense to us. We left the store...I was still feeling uncertain because the frame we measured the mattress on was not exactly what we now had at home. My husband & I turned around, went back & asked James & Mike if they would transfer the mattress we picked onto the adjustable frame we purchased from them to see "excactly" what the measurement would be & if we could easily get into/out of the bed. The guys were great...they were more than willing, we had a good laugh & yes...it was perfect! Exactly what we need. I need feel more at ease knowing the mattress being delivered in 10 days will be what we truly need. read more

My husband and I recently purchased a Gemma Mattress and boxspring from Paul Licari, manager of Commack Sleepy's. My son needed a new mattress and I wanted to purchase one that was "environmentally" friendly. I really didn't imagine that I would find what I wanted so fast, order it that night and have my son sleeping on it within two days, but that was before I met Paul. Paul administered a diagnostic test to determine the mattress firmness that best fitted my son's needs and spoke about the different features of two different types of "green" mattresses. We found Paul to be extremely well-informed and totally professional. We appreciated the amount of time that he devoted to helping us make this important decision. The whole process went very smoothly and thanks to Paul's expertise, we felt confident that we had made the right choice. He advised us to purchase a mattress pad to protect our new purchase and the mattress pad was well-priced and very well made. My son is thrilled with his new bed. We plan on purchasing the same bed for ourselves. I am extremely satisfied and would recommend anyone who needs a bed to go meet Paul. read more

My boyfriend and I went to this store looking for a king size bed. We were greeted by Steve, really nice guy, very knowledgeable. He asked us what we were looking for and pointed us in the right direction. Laid on a few and picked one. After a a couple of weeks, we felt the mattress was too firm so we went back to exchange it, Steve wasn't there that day. We ended spending MORE money for a mattress that cost less than the first one, we should've waited for Steve, the salespeople was not very helpful. In less a year, we experienced dipping/sagging in the mattress. We called the 800 Sleepys number. What a joke, they sent us a kit w/ a string and a measuring card to see how much the mattress was dipping, upload pictures to the website. The pictures didn't reflect the major sagging. I called Sleepys 800 number 2x, spoke to manager, they said nothing they can do! We were so frustrated. We finally called Steve. Everything was resolved within a half hour, he made a call and we received a new mattress the next day. I highly recommend speaking to Steve when visiting this location, he won't steer you wrong. read more

Finally dragged hubby to buy a mattress after 25 years (OH yes we got full 25 years use of our mattress).! Dreading the whole process, we walked hesitantly into the Sleepy's on Jericho Tpke in Commack. NY. I had googled top mattresses etc. so I was prepared for the shrewdest of sales people. Now personally, I don't like sales people who swarm around, especially when I'm climbing on and off beds. Well, John Meguin didn't do that. In fact, he is as laid back as it gets, BUT, so knowledgeable and helpful in a most approachable and comical way. Also, It really doesn't hurt that he is a full time Long Island based engineer, and works part time like so many of us Long Islanders trying to pay our incredible property taxes and electric bills, etc. these days. John went out of his way to be sure he fully understood our preference and concerns before guiding us to the spot on products to consider. I am writing about my recent experience at Sleepy's - 6183 Jericho Tpke., in Commack. I went in the store as an insecure customer, with a lot of sleep issues, and left there feeling very secure, totally relieved of all anxiety over my issues as a handicap person shopping for an automatic bed. Every aspect of my my experience, including my many questions, were handled in a very professional but relaxed manner by Lenny, the manager and Marilyn, his assistant; they are a great asset to and compliment the company. I immediately felt at ease and comfortable, and knew i was going to have a lot of my concerns fulfilled. By the time I left, I knew I was right; the hospitality and genuine concern made me feel quite secure. In this day and age, when people don't go the extra mile to help others in a caring way, it certainly was gratifying to experience. They are a wonderful asset to the company. Finding the perfect mattress is Essential to a good nights sleep. My Husband and I have had a hard time finding something that we would both agree would be comfortable. If it wasn't for the effortless salesmanship of PAUL LICARI, we would have given up!!! This man is an OUTSTANDING salesman!!! He's patient, completely informative and very honest. He is a NO PRESSURE salesman. ONLY wants the best for you!!! He's well-educated about any of the products and genuinely wants you to find the BEST MATTRESS for your comfort. I recently had the good fortune to interact with Sleepy's in general and sales associate Stephen De angelis in particular. He provided friendly, knowledgable and professional service throughout our initial meeting and advised me that my existing mattress was covered under a 10 year warranty. I called Sleepy's service department. They dispatched an inspector who arrived as agreed and inspected the product. The very next day, Steve called to advise me that my mattress was covered in full. I was overjoyed by the fact that for once, I wasn't burned by the fine print. My wife and I went back and spent another few hours with Steve today to make sure we found the perfect mattress for our needs. He was able to provide clear answers to every one of our many questions about the various products we were considering. His friendly and patient behavior made the entire experience a pleasure. DO NOT BUY YOUR MATTRESS FROM HERE! Manager is a liar and shady businessman who does not hold true on his guarantees. I was apprehensive about my mattress choice and was deciding between a firm/plush. The manager John in Commack assured me that I could easily exchange the mattress for the softer one within the return policy guidelines for a delivery fee of $99. After the 21 days, per policy, I called to exchange my mattress, and he told me I would have to pay more than 1/2 the price of the mattress on top of a delivery fee. After trying to explain to him that this was not what he had told me in stores, he quickly got nasty and threatened to make me pay the full price for a new mattress. He was clearly trying to make some additional money and take advantage of the situation. Needless to say, I went elsewhere and they were able to take care of it and exchanged my mattress for the agreed upon delivery rate of 99$ for no additional cost. SUCH A HEADACHE, would never give him another cent. read more

My dear friend Lynne lives in Long Island and bought her bed at Sleepy's. I live in the City and needed a new mattress, so she referred me to the salesman, who took care of her. Now, remember that I live in Manhattan. We have a gazillion amount of Sleepy's stores here. Why would I have to travel all the way to Commack? The answer came very quickly once I spoke to Paul Licari over the telephone. He was very knowledgeable and experienced, so I decided to take the trip. It was absolutely worth it! When I got to the store, Paul had us lay on a special bed that determines what type of the bed we would need in accordance to our weight, our natural sleep positions etc. Once the report was concluded, he proceeded to show us the mattresses best suited to us. Today I felt like I received a masters degree in mattresses...I was shopping for a day bed for my son that will be staying in my house for a few months. Paul Liciari after I selected the frame started asking me all these questions about my son he was working on a screen.....height weight etc..all these questions gave him an answer as to the firmness of what would be the most comfortable for him He explained everything I needed to know and never knew prior to this purchase today. My wife and I visited Sleepy's to purchase a mattress for our guest room. We were greeted by Steve Deangelis. Steve is very professional and knows his trade. We said we were interested in a Serta mattress (based upon family recommendation and knowledge gained via the internet). Steve immediately showed us several styles and explained differences and satisfactorily answered all our questions as we stretched out on the beds. We eventually decided to purchase a Sealy brand mattress (we currently sleep on one now). Steve's attention to detail and ensuring we were comfortable with the purchase made for a pleasant experience. When we enter Sleepy's store, we were welcome by Stephan Diangelo. He took his time to explain to us about different mattresses. After trying many mattresses we decided to purchase a foam mattress with cool senses. It was delivered the next day. Few days later, Stephan called us and asked how the mattress is. After sleeping for 3 weeks, we made a decision to change the mattress. My husband and I loved the mattress but for some reason the mattress kept us to hot while we slept. The nights become very uncomfortable for me, so I decided to call Stephan and ask if we could do something about it. He advised me to pick another mattress and recommended Sleeping Beauty Advantage Celeste luxury firm pillow top mattress. So on a whim, I stopped by Sleepy's to see about replacing my 15-year old mattress. I decided on a firm Beautyrest. But after it was delivered I realized that it was a bit too firm for my liking so headed back to the store to see if I could exchange it. The salesperson, Stephen De Angelis, was very knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. He showed me a variety of options all within my price range and within a half hour I left the store a very happy customer. And when the mattress was delivered, it was fantastic!!! I was first helped by Guy Derival who was infinitely patient with me as I tried mattresses for over TWO hours. He really listened to my needs and financial situation and never tried to push me. I finally ordered my mattress but returned the next day to change my delivery date and double check my mattress to make sure I made the right decision. I was VERY disappointed that Guy wasn't there but Steve who Guy highly recommended was there. I ended up upgrading to a Kings Down mattress that is just heavenly. Steve is extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend both of these gentlemen. They're professional, knowledgeable, trustworthy and personable. They are most definitely an asset to Sleepy's, I've already recommended this store location to co-workers and friends because of them. read more
