We were referred to this place by our good friends as they purchased a bed here with Tom in the past. We went in, and were delightfully greeted by Carina. Let me tell you....if you want a PRO that knows everything there is to know about beds, GO TO CARINA!!! It's extremely apparent that her caliber in knowledge of beds and the right brands to go with according to what a person needs and keeping in mind practicality, she's got that all!! Good return policy on their better beds: 180 days I purchased a Sleep Fit (Mattress Land brand bed), high quality, mid priced bed. It will be made in Fresno, California (Yeah! for American made). Delivery is in 10 days. Range of prices that I saw in store were $1,200-6,400 for a full set King. Went to Mattress Land to look at a new bed. Used their computer to recommend which mattress to look at. I ended up buying a new king mattress. Hasn't even been 14 months and it's sagging and so uncomfortable I wake up sore every morning. Should have kept my 20 year old mattress. It was more comfortable than this expensive thing. Not happy. I wanted to return my bed after one night and they made me wait 30. I could not find my receipt and the manager told me OH TOO BAD FOR YOU. Called the corporate office and they easily found the invoice for my purchase. I told them how rude and non professional the manager was. They told me they would contact him and to let me know how I was treated. He was nice that time. The bed after only six months was faulty and what do you know, they don't sell that brand anymore and won't back up their warranty. I will still pursue replacement. read more

I stopped in on Mother's Day after taking my mom to the Fandango buffet. My mother has Cerebral Palsy and is on a fixed income and we were pretty straight up with Karina when she asked about our budget ($1000). The lady working there (I believe her name was Karina or Katrina) was AWESOME! She ended up giving my mom a killer deal on a mattress for her elevated bed that was sorely in need of replacement. All told, Karina found the best mattress for the budget and made my mom very happy. Just as importantly though, she helped my mom (Who is in an almost constant state of pain due to her disability) be as comfortable as possible for the budget she was on. For that I will definitely be a lifetime customer to this store and even though I live in Reno I will be coming back to this store to purchase a mattress next time I am in need of one. read more

However, after meeting Thomas Bolena and spending 2 minutes with him we knew he was "the guy" we wanted to buy from. Thomas is so knowledgeable about all the products and was kind and patient. look at the age of the previous reviews - 2007 and 2009 - so do NOT base your thoughts on these - I recently was looking for a new bed and Kevin was quite helpful. They have this machine that measures your pressure points - which will then tell you which firmness is perfect for you. Based on that and my previous on line searches for a comfy bed, Kevin pointed us towards a Simmons Ultra - which has 3 types of memory foam, enabling the bed to help regulate your body temperature over the entire sleep cycle (meaning a better night's sleep). Simmons was running a special - free bed frame - so overall I saved 700 bucks off the list price. In all a very nice, non pressure environment - Kevin was funny, at ease and informative when we had questions. What more do you want from a mattress store? read more

Went last week to to get a bed mint Katrina told her our needs. She went to a bed not even the most expensive or cheapest but the right one. I have never been so comfortable! I have so many problems in my back and neck! She found it. She even showed us another one a little closers to it but the first one fit prefect! We left to think about it. And went to another store. So disappointed. Bought a exspensive Top of the line Mattress King and it started to sag. I called their business to tell them that there was something wrong with my mattress they told me to switch it around and sleep on the other side it bad that is brand-new should not have a sagging problem it's just shouldn't happen and so I called back and I say you know what I want to exchange it for another bed but they said they will not do that because I have to call me I'm supposed to call the corporate Mattress Land office to have them come out and take a look and see if my bed really sucks so the only way around this is to say to Mattress Land it's a comfort issue. Then I have to choose another bad number because I have a mattress king and they go and comfort levels like for example Comfort 1 Comfort 2 Comfort 3 well I'm in Comfort 3 and I have to get a comfort to in order to get this matter resolved and it's going to cost me $150 what is going on with this world it's just so screwy that you can't get good customer service anymore and saying something given different number of bed I'm in just so you know it's called Mattress Land and it's located on 151 Clearview Drive Number 10 Carson City Nevada watch out buyers read more

I believe it will be a great mattress if it ever gets delivered. Paid cash for it 2 weeks ago, it will supposedly be delivered tomorrow (14th day of waiting). Since I don't live in Reno, or Washoe Valley, I can't get the early delivery I deserve for being forced to wait for something I've already purchased with my hard earned money. If the bed turns out to be what I expect, I promise to write a better review in the future. UPDATE - As I promised, I am updating my review, now that I have received by CalKIng Posturpedic bed, frame and Head Board. As expected I am completely satisfied with my new bed! It has only been 5 days, but I am sleeping better and for longer periods than I have been able to sleep in years. Tom, our salesman, was great, extremely knowledgeable and very patient and cooperative with my wife and I. I must say the entire experience, other than the delivery shortcoming, was truly exceptional and an enjoyable experience while we were in the store. As for my delivery complaint, I offer a simple, yet critical observation: When you only deliver 2 days out of 6 to any community - you need to put your priority on the customer's needs as opposed to the convenience of your delivery personnel or shipping manager. We went in, on a last minute whim, to purchase a new mattress and box springs set. Our old bed was so hard and uncomfortable that we woke every morning hurting. We made the mistake of allowing the salesman talk into using their "computer bed program" that is suppose to be very accurate at telling you what you need. It told us we needed FIRM...NOT! Thats what we already had and don't want. We found a bed on the floor that was perfect. He said that was the most popular one and they had to order and it would be delivered. We purchased new sheets too so we had a sheet set that actually fit a king size bed (but...they don't carry that in the store either) they said the sheets would be delivered with the bed in 11 days. The bed was delivered on time but no sheets. They won't be available for five more days. BUT THE BED THEY DELIVERED ISN'T WHAT WE PICKED. Its hard as stone and after sleeping on it last night and been awake for the last not only do I feel unbelievably tired but I still hurt. They said we have to sleep on it for 30 days before they will talk about an exchange and we have to pay $75 for the exchange. This is bad business. Neither one got up up let alone bothered to to say can I help you . So disgusted I left and went to Mattresss King where I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door . I am the administrator of a senior residence here in town. This business told us a resident's bed would be delivered on a certain day around noon. That morning we dismantled her old bed and moved it. Then right around noon this outfit calls and says they can't deliver for another 2-3 days! Horrible! This is some of the worst service I have encountered anywhere. read more

Went to the business 3 times trying to find a bed for my father, the first two times we were qouted $1500 and the third time we we're going to purchase the bed, the "manager" qouted us $2800. When we tried to ask about the other salesmens price quote, he stated " it doesn't matter what he qouted, because I'm the manager". We had a WONDERFUL experience! I walked in and told the woman (Karina) the same thing as sleep train- we want to buy a mattress today and our budget is $500... I showed her the same the brands that sleep train showed us along with prices. She was up front about the delivery possibly being more but she told me she could show us what she had to see if there was something we liked. Karina was helpful, inviting, and super nice! She showed us another bed that was comparable to the ones sleep train showed us but a little bit more. She told us with out delivery it would be cheaper. Because of how nice and helpful she was we opted to pay more for their mattress and pick it up our self. It just goes to show you that with good customer service, customers are willing to pay a little more and with bad customer service, like we got at Sleep Train, customers WILL find some where else to spend their money, even if it means spending more than their budget!! Terrible is the nicest word I can use to describe the Carson City Mattress land store! Bought a mattress and adjustable frame from them in March. Because we live in an outlying area, had to wait 3 weeks for delivery. Decided after 30 days to exchange our mattress for a softer one. Went to the store on April 30th and upgraded our mattress. We were charged $140.00 delivery fee for the exchange. The delivery fee when we purchased the original mattress was only $40.00! "Tom" the manager said the $140.00 fee was a store policy. No delivery date was provided when we made the exchange. We were told they would deliver when they had enough orders in our area despite paying $140.00!! Delivery day arrived. The delivery men were supposed to attach a headboard mount to the bed frame. The lead delivery man told me it wasn't his job. The delivery men dragged the new mattress thru the mud and smeared mud on the ceiling when they brought the mattress upstairs! Called the corporate offices to complain about the mud stain and refusal to install brackets. Spoke to a woman at corporate who assure me she would make things right. 2 hours later received a call from the Vice President of Mattress land who apologized profusely and offered to refund our delivery fee and send us a set of sheets. I was impressed by the VP's offer and his apology. Bottom line, I'll do business with Mattress land again but not at the Carson City store! read more
