This place is legit. Phenomenal brisket, killer burnt ends and ribs. The service is fast and friendly and the atmosphere is terrific.

Get the pulled pork - hands down five stars! The coleslaw was one star, never took a second bite of it. The corn bread also had no flavor - two stars. Their specialty is bbq meat and they do that phenomenally. Will just get food to go next time, so I can make my own sides. Don't pass on the pulled pork though, it's worth the drive! So freaking good. It's Texas BBQ, but it made us feel like being back in SC with the vinegar sauce. We ordered brisket, pulled pork (i sauced it before this pic lol), medium mac and cheese, and small green beans. Boy was this comforting and delicious. Pork and brisket were so tender and we loved the pepper crust. We sat outside and while there are buckets you can pick sauce bottles from, they were all on other peoples tables and we had to ask to take them. Don't sleep on the green beans; they were flavorful and garlicky and delicious. The mac and cheese was also very well seasoned and not bland like at other bbq joints. The meat was divine, and we both used the vinegar and hot sauces which were also so so good. We ate the whole tray, no shame. I also ordered a salty dog cocktail which while delicious, tasted mostly like grapefruit juice. I don't know if it's because it's batch made, but there was definitely a lack of liquor in the drink itself. Other than that, we loved Matt's and can't wait to come back! read more

I'm a barbecue snob. Sorry. I grew up in Texas on Tex-Mex and barbecue. This is good barbecue - way better than chains like Mission BBQ or "Q" and they serve the ultimate - Beef Rib. Yea brisket is a must, and it must be done well, but if you don't have beef rib, you're not Texas barbecue. Matt's brisket is great - and their beef rib is delicious. How do you know if it's good? If you have to put sauce on it, it's not that good. At Matt's we didn't even touch the sauce they offer, not because the sauce isn't good, but because their barbecue doesn't need it. As it should be. If you're a transplant in need of a fix, or if you are a native still wondering what good barbecue is supposed to taste like, go to Matt's. But get there early, because like any barbecue joint worth their salt in Texas, it's first come first served, and when they sell out, that's it. Try again next time. read more

Went for the first time Friday night. Tried the brisket, melt in your mouth brisket, delicious. I tried all 3 sauces liked them all, but Loved the "Hot". Delicious Brisket and pulled pork. Really like having the Shiner poured in a branded Mason Jar. Thought the sauces were very good, even though you don't really need to sauce up the meat. My wife and I got married in Florida in August and we stopped at multiple bbq joints driving home that were featured on Triple D. If you have not tried Matt's you need to get over there today. Change your dinner plans right now and head over. Obviously the Brisket and Pulled Pork are phenomenal, however my favorite is the ribs. All the sides are great as well and the service is top notch. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Matt's new menu item, The Smash Burger is the best burger you will ever have. This I will guarantee. If you are going to take my advice and try the burger make sure to call ahead as it is served at limited times. Anyone who gave Matt's lower than a 5 star rating needs to get their taste buds checked. They probably eat at fast food places everyday and have no idea what quality food taste like for a quality price!!!! read more

We visited Matt's today and I have to say it's one of the best tasting BBQ sandwiches I have ever had. And believe me my waste size can attest to my love of BBQ. The meats are smoked to perfection over oak logs in a smoker that looks more like a torpedo than something you would buy at Home Depot. I had the brisket and it was heaped on in thick slices so you could really enjoy the flavor . My wife had the pork and she loved it. It's a great addition to Lemont, which by the way is becoming a real bumping place to hang out. read more

Some of the best brisket I've had. The burnt ends are great and to be honest the tots are awesome.

A bit on the pricey side but we'll worth the money & drive. Highly recommend. It does not disappoint.
