I was doing some shopping and popped in for some lunch. I was pleasantly surprised to find the bar filled with ladies; some in groups and others alone. The bartenders were friendly. I could tell they were relatively new but that was only because I was sitting right where they were making the drinks. A server came in to give them a compliment about a drink they had made. The customer said they made it perfectly. (I don't know which drink it was) I ordered a glass of Sauvi B and the chicken and waffles. Honestly I was a bit underwhelmed by the presentation. Right off the bat, I noticed that the waffles were very thin. They would not hold up to the sauces and the chicken. I was right. The waffles basically fell apart. They needed to be much thicker waffles to complement the chicken. They chicken was great. The sauces were delicious. I wouldn't order it again. The waffles were disappointing. It was an expensive brunch for what it was. $56 with tip (2 glasses of wine) - the food was around 18.99. The decor is nice and the people were friendly. Upon arrival, we were greeted and sat down immediately. Our server, Kendra, came and took our drink orders. Upon her return, we ordered the chicken fried pork chop, fried pickles, burger and fish and chips. Everything was great and flavorful. The portions were large enough to leave you full and more. The venue itself has a cool retro vibe. Clean, well lit and the noise is average. I overheard another server stating it was happy hour, but we weren't made aware. I was seeking pork chops so I decided to go to ,The League Kitchen, heard they serve fried pork chops. Love the waiter, Wyatt, He was very attentive make sure that I had water and my wine was absolutely served perfect. This is the kind of service that most people dream of walking, into a restaurant, honestly. He went through the menu with me so that he could tell me what else I could have as sides with my pork chops and mashed potatoes and gravy. So after I ordered my entry my waiter made sure that it was served on time. I also ordered the house wine which was absolutely divine. So when my entry came the pork chop was tender moist and full of flavor not salty just perfect and it was fried very, very well it was not too crispy but yet very succulent the mashed potatoes with gravy or something you would see out of a southern kitchen. The green beans I ordered as a side also cooked perfect it wasn't overcooked because I noticed a lot of restaurant's, overcooked their 'green beans which is wilt and loses all the flavor. I was very appreciative, for the fact that he brought me 2 napkins they were cloth napkin , not paper I totally loved that. Again, I was very happy that everything came out wonderfu , I left as happy as could be, I highly recommend The League' and I'm definitely going to come back again since they really take care of their customers here and I could tell at the bar that there's a lot of people that are regulars, that is a great sign that the restaurant is doing quite well. We had the best experience here, and it might have been because of our waiter, Wyatt. Our family came in about a week ago and we're lucky enough to have had great service. Wyatt not only gave wonderful recommendations on drinks, wine and food - love those meatloaf bites! - but he made our kids happy and my mother in law, too, and that old bag hasn't cracked a smile in years. This was the first time at this location. It's really nice inside. Spacious and bright. Nichole was my service and she was super nice. She gave me the run down on their half price appetizers. I ended up getting the shrimp. The shrimp was crispy and it comes 6 on a plate. The dipping sauce was nice. It was sweet. Had a great appetizer. I will come back again if I'm in this area again. The downside is the fries. Very plain. For $2 you can upgrade to truffle fry, and maybe I should have done that. At first I was giving this place a 4, but upon more reflection it's at best 3.5, so I'm giving it the 3. Service was attentive. I appreciate that there wasn't an automatic gratuity even though there were 9 of us (separate checks). I did get to try one of the truffle deviled eggs someone else at the table got. We finally tried this restaurant after seeing it mentioned multiple times in a foodie group. First off our server Nichole did a phenomenal job introducing us to the different menu options and gave some great suggestions as she went over it. I opted to follow one of her suggestions and got the grown up grilled cheese which was amazing. It came with tomato soup that tasted fresh and not super salty. The hubby ordered the chicken pot pie which had a nice flaky crust and again wasn't overly salty which we loved. It was a generous amount and I ended up helping him finish it. It can be a little loud, I think next time we will opt to be outside or see if we can get a booth on the outer edges and not in the middle. We will definitely be returning for their burger deals and to try some cocktails. read more

We recently visited The League Kitchen at the Galleria in Bee Cave for the first time. It's always busy when we walk by, and now we can see why. It's a great spot for any meal of the day. We went for lunch while a friend was visiting and were seated quickly at a lovely outdoor table. Since we had our dog with us, I appreciated that the table wasn't in the middle of everything so he could relax and people-watch. Our server, Sarah, was wonderful. Very friendly, patient, and attentive. She even brought a water bowl for our dog, which was so thoughtful. The food was delicious. I ordered the burger, cooked medium, and it came out juicy and perfect. The quality was excellent. While $20 is a bit steep for a burger, I didn't mind it for a special, really satisfying one. The BBQ sauce tasted homemade with a rich, unique flavor. The manager also stopped by to check on us and apologized for a slight delay with our friend's beer. 3.5 Stars I had the pleasure of watching the championship college football game on a Monday night at this local venue at the Galleria. The atmosphere was vibrant, enhanced by plentiful indoor and outdoor seating options. The interior design is classy casual, creating a welcoming ambiance perfect for enjoying a game. We were fortunate to snag a cozy but spacious corner booth, which provided a view of the numerous TVs strategically placed throughout the space. To kick off our evening, I tried the passion margarita. While it was enjoyable, I found it to be quite boozy and sweet --definitely not for the faint of heart! For appetizers, we ordered the spinach artichoke dip ($14.99) and ahi tuna tacos ($16.99). The tacos were nice, but I felt they could have benefited from more tuna; they seemed a bit under-filled for my liking. My boyfriend opted for the Society burger ($15.99) - The League runs a buy one get one free burger special on Mondays so we got two of them :). The burger did not disappoint--it was massive and delicious, accompanied by a generous serving of truffle fries that were crunchy and irresistible. I also tried some of the blackened ahi tuna with green bean tempura ($26.99), which was quite good as well. Great decour, props to the interior designer. Not sure what their usual menu is like, but I was allured by the tiki menu. I had a Mai Tai and the pork chop. Both were not great. Mai Tai tasted like a dive bar cocktail - needs more fresh juice. Pork chop was dry and the teriyaki sauce was thin and not very great. The brussel sprouts that came with it were pretty good tho. In any case, based on this one meal, I was disappointed for a place that has 4.4 stars. Especially for the prices they're charging. read more

Came here for a team dinner after a work meeting. The staff was quick and friendly. They did forget a lot of things but we did have a big group. They had a set menu for us. The meatloaf bites were good! Super flavorful and not dry. The shishito peppers were interesting. I got the half chicken as an entree and it was good! Chicken was roasted to perfection and not dry! I went to a late lunch with my daughter and it was enjoyable from start to finish. I had been to the league on 620 but had not been to this one before. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and entertaining. We split a club sandwich and without us even asking they divided the food equally and brought us each out a plate. I love when restaurants do that! The club sandwich was very good but my favorite had to be the truffle french fries. They are just so good! We had originally gone there so that I could get one of their awesome wedge salads. Unfortunately they do not serve that any longer. But the club sandwich and truffle fries were a great substitute! I decided to read many of the recent reviews and the two things that stood out were that fish and chips are too greasy, and the service is hit or miss. One interesting aspect of this establishment is that it is literally next-door to a large stage amphitheater. So if there is a show going on, just sit out on the patio with your drinks and watch the show. Inside is plenty of seating, full bar and a plethora of flat screens. Since we got here for a late lunch at 3 o'clock on a Monday, there were specials galore, such as discounts on mixed drinks, beer, appetizers, and even two for one burgers (monday only). We started with the coconut shrimp which were really plump and flavorful. They were so good I seriously thought about ordering another round. We decided on the Monday special of the two for one burger special, and I added an extra patty to mine which made it difficult to get down. I should've stuck with a single. The burgers and fries are definitely a 4 to 5 star experience, although they do not come with mustard or mayo, gotta ask for those. We still had room for dessert so we ordered their coconut poke cake. It comes out warm and has a fairly thick consistency. I discovered that one of the secret ingredients in the cake is sprite. As for the service, we were well attended to, but I'm sure it helped that there were just a few patrons during our time here. Definitely a place I would come back to, especially after 3pm on a Monday when everything is at a great price. read more

First, I have always enjoys the vibe of this place, whether sitting inside or out. Definitely a draw. Our waiter was very friendly, although service was a bit slow. I did ask a question about one of the specials on the board without success. We were greeted by a very nice and efficient hostess. She said it would be a while for the children's menus to be printed. 30 minutes later we were told a printer problem was not fixable. We ordered 2 appetizers: the deviled eggs and the meatloaf sliders. A majority 2 of the deviled eggs were frozen. We brought it to the attention of our waiter and he said he was sorry. The individual meatloaf squares served on mashed potatoes were barely room temperature. Unfortunately, they he meatloaf was extremely dry. We have ordered both of these appetizers before and never experienced this problem before. Two of the 4 adult entrees and the 2 kid meals were fine. The other 2 adult entrees were the grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. These items were all hardly warm. Very disappointing. I was hoping my food was hot like my son's chicken pot pie.....steaming hot. We will return but this experience was not what we had expected. read more

We stop by the League Kitchen & Tavern in the Galleria area for pre-party snacks and drinks the other weekend. If you haven't been to the Galleria, the League is easy to find at the center square. We were seated pretty quickly by the friendly staff and the waiter explained the new menu. Everything looked good, but we settled on the tuna tartare tacos and truffle fries. Both were amazing good. Love the crunch on the tacos and the sauce brought it together nicely. The fries were flavorful. Our drinks, Vesper Royale and Smoked Avocado Margarita were awesome. They tasted as good as they look. If you are a gin lover, like myself, Vesper Royale is the drink for you. The gold dust added a nice visual touch to the drink.
