Spent a night on Maui and was craving fish n chips. Yelp never disappoints! I mean, how can you go wrong with a restaurant that's named, "Maui Fish n Chips"? They're located in an unassuming small strip mall, tucked away in the corner. Parking is available but it's limited. It's a small-ish interior but they do have tables inside and outside, You order at the cashier and they bring the food to you. For the fish, I selected the ono. It comes with 2 decent size pieces. The batter was pure perfection! Crispy on the outside and without all the grease. The fish was fresh and tasty. The meal was $16.99 and it came with fries that were just your typical fries, but hey, that's not the star of the show. Service was amazing - fast and friendly! This place is great. It's a storefront with outside seating out front. We got grilled fish and rice. When they brought mine out to the table they had mistakenly made me fried fish, which they replaced with the correct order quickly. However, it gave me an opportunity to try their fried fish which was excellent. I got the grilled fish for health reasons, the fried fish was so good, next time I will throw caution to the wind and eat fried. read more

Wish I had taken pictures before we ate everything but I only got pictures of the garlic fries so I'll start there--you must like garlic if you order these. They had roasted garlic, garlic aioli, and probably garlic powder--DELICIOUS!! Also had the fish and chips and the teriyaki chicken--AMAZING. We were next door at Maui Bread Company and wanted lunch. We asked them about Maui Fish'n Chips and they said it was good, the fries were amazing and they were always busy. They didn't open for another 20 minutes but they gave us a menu and let us sit at a table. We ordered right when they opened and the food did not disappoint! I ordered the two fish and chips option with fries. I chose the mahi mahi and cod. My mom ordered the cod and substituted slaw for fries. The fish was so fresh and delicious. Perfectly fried and not overly greasy. The fries were extra crispy and seasoned. The tartar sauce had a nice flavor and my mom really enjoyed the slaw. The portions were pretty large. The cod was maybe 5 small pieces and the mahi mahi about 4 small filets. We could have split one order but ended up having enough for dinner. Price was reasonable for the quality and portion. The staff was super friendly. They brought the food out to us and checked in to make sure it was to our liking. I will definitely go back in the future. read more

Popped into Maui Fish and Chips on Sunday night right before closing time as we were starving after traveling all day. We ordered fried cod tacos ($18)) and chicken thigh and rice ($16). The food was quick to arrive at our table and it was super fresh, made to order. The tacos were flavorful and crispy and delicious. A great sauce over the top and good crunch from the fish and the cabbage below the fish on the soft corn tortilla. The chicken thigh and rice was cooked perfectly although the rice is a bit mushy. The flavors were good and the chicken tender and well seasoned. Maui fish and chips really hit the spot after a long travel day. I believe we will be back before we leave so we can try the ono, which I hear is delightful. read more

One of the first restaurants I ever went to on Maui, back in 2017. $6.99 fish and chips in 2017 is now $15.99 in 2023. Located at the back of the Dolphin shopping center anchored by Cafe O' Lei in front of Kamaole Beach 1 across the street. Outdoor seating on a food court. Place does not serve tap water. Bring your own or pay $2 for bottled drinking water. Wife's $15.99 Ahi tuna cooked right with red on the inside and seared on the outside. Breading coating on the edges of the slices was too salty and had to be scraped off, particularly on the outside slices. Underneath the tuna was lightly cooked cabbage, next to two large scoops of brown rice. Diluted wasabi sauce to spice up things. Would have preferred one scoop of cole slaw or cabbage instead of the second scoop of brown rice. Cole slaw is $4. My $16.99 bowl of ono fish came with chunks of white fish mixed with mushrooms, onions, sliced squash over white rice. The fish was not too dry and was enhanced in flavor by the light brown gravy. Probably would order the mahi mahi next time as the ono had too little flavor without tartar sauce, which doesn't go with bowl food. Neon sign on the roof lists the word teriyaki, a remnant of the past restaurant owners? The best place for distant obstructed ocean view is the table right next to the garbage can. read more

Fish was fresh and fried to perfection and the batter was seasoned well and not overcooked. Includes an order of fries and a buck to upgrade to the furikake (not really worth doing imho) but they were great. The onion rings were thick and tasted like onion rings should. WOW! I spent 5 days in Maui and I came here for the seafood I previously ordered from every lunch & dinner spot fish or shrimp and was so disappointed but THIS spot satisfied every craving. Another place our family stumbled upon when looking for dinner nearby and found great review for this spot. It was a little under an hour until closing so we hurried to place an order. The line wasn't too bad for a Monday night dinner but still some waiting. We ordered 3 grilled Mahi with rice, a seared Ahi with rice, and some furikake fries to share. The seating is right outside the restaurant, about 8-10 tables but we were able to find something. The fish was solid, good seasoning and lots of rice which is a nice plus. The furikake fries were nice and crispy, good amount of furikake. The seared ahi was also solid but I only tried a small amount of it. The prices were decent, about on par with other fish spots we've been to. Overall solid spot if you're looking for fish and chips. I just wish i tried the fried fish but the grilled fish is still a great option. read more

Came here in the middle of the afternoon for some fish and chips. Ended up ordering the cod Fish and chips with crispy French fries and one order of Mochiko chicken with garlic fries. Both fries were cooked just right. There were large chunks of garlic! So Good. The cod had a thin batter and the fish was nice and moist inside. We ended up with 5 pieces. The Mochiko chicken was different from home. It was like popcorn chicken with teriyaki sauce on top I'm used to a dry crispy batter and a sirachha and Mayo sauce.
