    Pulled Pork Slider (side view!)
    Jaclyn F.

TLDR: Good food, but service could have been better. Da Nani Pirates is located in Kahului, super close to the airport & other stores as a part of the food truck lot with other eats! We had the calamari, the ahi tacos, & the pulled pork sliders. The Calamari was tender & the fry was perfect, but it was a bit difficult to chew which made it #3 of our 3 plates. We also had the pulled pork sliders with Guava buns & that was #2! It was tasty, but my favorite part of the dish was the curly fries & the house sauce (tasted really really good inside the pork sliders themselves). Our FAVORITE dish was the Ahi Fish Tacos! The Macnut & pepper crust on the Ahi was amazing & the portions of the veggies & fish was perfect for us. ALSO for the price you pay for the tacos, you're definitely getting a good amount of Ahi. We also got this with Ono on the side; the tacos were definitely our #1!! In terms of the seating area, if you want to dine at the food truck lot, there are plenty of tables available, but do keep in mind that there are pretty massive flies that may land & take interest in your food ;) Though the food was delicious, our overall experience with Da Nani Pirates was more on the negative side because of the customer service. When asked about the menu for clarification, our cashier/server seemed extremely aggravated and annoyed, making his responses pretty unhelpful in answering some of the questions we had. Additionally, my husband did want some extra protein on our tacos, so we clicked the "extra ono" option on the screen. When he got our receipt, he called out my husband's name and passive aggressively said, "dude you know that Ono isn't Ahi" and proceeded to speak to him in a condescending tone. I would've given Da Nani Pirates a 4/5 just based on food, however I do believe that customer service is paramount and I always reserve that one star just for customer service. With that said, I do think that Da Nani Pirates is worth a try & hope that your experience is better than ours.

    Grilled fish tacos

I ordered the grilled fresh fish tacos from Da Nani Pirates food truck. They were really good, especially the pineapple coleslaw. They were very filling, and I was only able to eat two of the tacos. I took the third taco home and ate it the next day. It was still delicious. If you are looking for a good fish taco, I recommend this place!

Quick service, tasty tacos (shrimp, fried fish and grilled fish, and pork) The ambiance we fine, had a live dj when we went, it's a food truck stop and if there's one thing I have learned while here it's always try the food trucks. Pork taco was OK but highly outshined by the fish and shrimp! Lovely highly recommend. Also the calamari and the sauce that comes with it FANTASTIC!

Pork Sliders with mac & rice

This food truck is located at the food truck hub near Costco. Probably my favorite mac salad of the trip, and I tried a lot of mac salad. I ordered the pork sliders, and opted for mac and rice instead of fries. It was all really good! The guava bun was excellent and soft, while offering a sweet aspect to the savory dish. They have a huge menu, and the fries are curly. They were really good! The ahi slider also received rave reviews from our group, as did the tacos! There's seating throughout the compound here, just picnic tables. First come first serve. Also, ordering is through a kiosk. Something I'd never seen before, but made life so easy! Highly recommend checking out these food trucks.

Employees were friendly. My husband didn't particularly fancy the mayo and avocado on his sandwich. (he's a picky eater though) He enjoyed the other parts of his sandwich and the hot fries. So many food trucks so little time.

We had a 4 hour layover in Maui before heading to Kauai and wanted to leave the airport for food! The lady at the front desk recommended the food trucks about a mile down the road and we were grateful that we went because the food was delicious(way better than anything at the airport)! This was a quick 5(if even that) Uber ride from the airport and it's a bunch of food trucks and seating under a shade structure! The fish is fresh and the flavor was to die for! The burger bun was guava flavored so it was a perfect hint of sweet added to the flavor! The portion size was massive and was perfect after not eating all day! Would definitely recommend if you need a quick bite to eat on a layover!!

The food is delicious. Curly fries. Fish sandwich. Food truck service. Outside tables with lights and coverage. Gravel lot. Lots of wild chickens. Food to go works too.

Anything with the Seared Ahi is great, and I love their other food as well! Always great and consistent food that makes for something as tasty as it is aesthetic - their plate lunches are definitely a must have if you get a chance to order from them - Miguel Morales Photography

Ordered the beer batter fish sliders and they came with French fries. The fries were good and crunchy. The sliders were pretty good too. I would come back!

The garlic shrimp scampi here is amazing along with the service! It's apart of the little food truck parking lot across from Costco. Definitely worth as a snack before we dropped off our rental car. :)

My teenage son really enjoyed this burger. Lots of cheese, caramelized onions, not a lot of greenery and the patty was pretty big. We weren't asked how we wanted the burger cooked so it came out well done. Curly fries were good. The only thing he didn't like about the burger was that the bun was a little hard and overall it was "too much bread".

Fresh catch of the day: maui maui.
    K.G. F.

Fresh catch of the day was maui maui and it was the best fish I've had this trip. Perfectly cooked, very light excellent sauce. Cabbage had a light sweet dressing, Mac salad fresh, even the rice was good. Highly recommend and we'll be back!

I ordered the grilled fresh fish tacos, the beer battered fried fish tacos, a side of curly fries and a aloha maid drink which came out to be a total of $48. The meal did not disappoint, the tacos were amazing! The fish was really fresh, well seasoned and not dry at all. The sauce, cabbage and pineapples in the taco also really enhanced the overall flavor. I highly recommend stopping by if you're visiting Maui & looking to eat some fish tacos!

Looking for a kid and family friendly Restaurant with Local and Filipino Cuisine? Look no further…read moreand head to Tante's Island Cuisine in the heart of Kahului at the Maui Seaside Hotel. Our Ohana and family friends have been eating here for years. They serve Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. If you're looking for a place to have a small gathering or celebration, they do catering and had a small party near our table (we were told to be quiet during a prayer for that party which we respectfully did). Our family of 7 ordered a variety of food. My nephew is Vegan and there was a Veggie Stir Fry he ordered with Tofu. My Brother in Law who is on the pickier side and likes it "simple" got Beef Teriyaki with Macaroni Salad. And my mom and niece love their Filipino food so mom ordered a Tamarind Soup with Shrimp and Vegetables called Sinigang and my niece ordered a Peanut Sauce dish called Kare Kare. My dad, sister and I stick to our favorites. He got his usual Baby Back Ribs (which I didn't get to picture), my sister got Sautéed Mahi Mahi with Lemon Caper Sauce and I got my usual Local Favorites Combo that had the most tender and savory Beef Teriyaki and crispy Mahi Mahi with Tartar Sauce on a bed of Cabbage. The Molokai Sweet Potato is a must when you get a side but this time, I did crave some greens so I opted for a side salad with Papaya Dressing. Your Meal isn't complete without Dessert! And Filipino Ice Dessert I might add...Halo Halo (which literally translates to "mix mix"). Being the true Fil-American that I am, I don't like to "Mix Mix" because I prefer my Ube Ice Cream in tact lol. I explained this to my Brother in Law from the Mainland who also said this is the first Purple anything he's ever eaten haha! But this is a refreshing ice dessert to end the meal since it has fresh cantaloupe, avocado, coconut, banana, and jellies, and the ice is creamy with an evaporated and condensed milk mix. If you want to "mix mix" let your inner Filipino out! Our visiting family had a great time catching up and enjoyed our yummy meal together. The Filipino aunty servers are always top notch and serve your food with Aloha. We probably only waited 15 minutes or so for the food as well which is always appreciated especially when hungry.

They've been part of the island's food scene for over 12 years now, and I still remember their off-the-beaten-path spot on Hobron Avenue in Kahului. You would have never guessed there was delicious food being served up there, but those who knew, knew. These days, you can find them in Kahului parked at Da Tambayan Corner on Lono Avenue, or sometimes popping up out at Ho'okipa. Now, full disclosure -- I don't eat raw fish, so I can't personally vouch for their poke bowls, but that's what they're known for and I've had a number of friends and family enjoy it. What I can vouch for, though, is their fried poke -- perfectly seasoned ahi cubes, floured and fried, served over rice and lettuce, and drizzled with a creamy mayo aioli. Get it hurricane style for extra sauce and furikake seasoning -- it's delicious and gives it an extra boost as once in a while it's on the drier side. Another favorite is the poke bake, which is just as satisfying and generously portioned. Started getting this recently and it hits the spot. Highly recommend either dish, especially if you're like me and prefer your fish cooked. And whatever you do, don't skip the furikake fries -- curly fries topped with aioli and furikake. SO good. Beyond the great food, my team has worked with Like Poke for company events, and they're always a hit. Friendly service and consistent quality eats that keep people coming back -- they're a favorite among locals for a reason.
