Maui Fruit Ninja is the BEST!! I've never had a better acai bowl than from this little stand! We ordered two pineapple bowls, one with strawberry and acai sorbet with coconut and granola on top and one with fruit only. The fruit is so fresh and delicious and the sorbet was wonderful too. The bowls are on the pricier side but so so so worth it for the quality and the presentation! The service was great! The man working at the register was very nice and helpful. You order at the counter and wait around 5-10 minutes for them to make your bowl. I can't stress enough how good this spot is! Best fruit and and smoothie bowls on the whole island and we have tried several. Very kind and cool people run this fruit bowl stand. We had amazingly helpful service, incredible fruit and sorbet bowls, and the best lemonades of my entire life. (I'm not a sour lemonade fan, this was perfectly sweet and yet refreshing.) I requested no papaya in my bowl and they happily obliged my request. We also got some banana chips from them and they were awesome. I wish they would open up a store front so I could visit all day, but I'm grateful for what they're offering! Will definitely visit again! We took our fruit bowls over to the beach within a few feet away and sat on the grassy shade beneath a bush and watched the ocean and listened to the waves. Equal parts tasty, refreshing, and instagram-able. What more could you want from a fruit bowl? I kicked off my first afternoon on the island at Maui Fruit Ninja, and it took some trial and error before I found their Wednesday location (Honua Kai Resort, by Duke's Restaurant). They're wedged between the resort and the beach, which I tried (and failed) to access via Kaanapali Shores Place. Honoapi'ilani Park Access Road runs parallel to that one and finally led me to the boardwalk where they're set up. I ordered a Pineapple Bowl with Strawberry Sorbet, Granola, and Coconut. My mom ordered a Papaya Bowl with Strawberry Sorbet and Macadamia Nuts. They mixed up which toppings went on which bowl, but admittedly, we were a bit all over the place while placing our orders. While the papaya bowls run a bit smaller in size than the pineapple bowls, you get to scoop papaya flesh out of the bowl and enjoy it on its own. So the value is pretty even across the board. The mixed fruit in the bowls was so tasty, and the sorbet made it that much tastier. Its strawberry flavor was authentic and not-too-sweet, while its iciness cooled down the otherwise room temperature fruit. I'd definitely recommend splurging on an açaí/sorbet addition to your bowl. It took 15 minutes to get to the front of the line and another 15 minutes to receive our order, so if you're coming after 12 pm, prepare to wait 30+ minutes! They started to run out of items shortly after taking our order at 12:40 pm. Not sure if I'll make another afternoon visit because the wait was a bit much. (I can't blame them for being popular.) But it was a really fun addition to my foodie adventures in Maui! read more

Their selling point is local, dairy-free, vegan and gluten-free. I simply love it for their simplicity. ORDERING: Order online via their website and pickup is somewhere in Lahaina. Or, free delivery is available to the central valley with a $20 minimum purchase done on Wednesday's and Saturday's (meeting point is at Krispy Kreme in Kahului, according to their website). FLAVORS: Local Lilikoi Sorbet, Ube Cookies, Dragon Fruit Sorbet, Maui Mango Gelato, Coco & Cream, Pumpkin Pie, Ube Gelato, Pineapple Whip and Coconut Gelato, each sold in 1 pint containers. THE GOODIES: Maui Mango Gelato - $7.00 Three simple ingredients: Mango, water and coconut milk. I like mango but don't love it like some folks, but man, this was absolutely delish! Intense mango flavor with a hint of creaminess like a dreamsicle. It's not heavy or filling and not overly sweet as there is no added sugar. If Tasaka Guri Guri made a mango flavor, this would be it! Coconut Gelato - $7.00 You got it, just three ingredients as well: Coconut meat, water and coconut milk. Had this consisted of stringy coconut meat like those found on coconut shrimp and cakes, I wouldn't have liked it. Here, the meat was pulverized to the point that all you're left with was a concentrated infusion of coconut flavors made into a smooth sherbet. Yummers. OVERALL: Highly recommended. I haven't done a personal order yet but will soon as I want to try that Ube Cookies flavor. read more
