Great time with captain Jen! We have a boat at home and free dive/snorkel regularly year round. We debated on spending just a little more money and just renting a boat and doing a little tour ourselves but we are so glad we went with this charter! The crew was friendly and funny, as well as knowledgeable about the sea life and history of islands etc. We loved chatting with them about the differences in our sea life at home, as well as being able to ask them questions about the history they shared. We had a beautiful morning out on the water. We saw lots of other charters after we hit the spots already so it wasn't crowded at any of the spots with other tour groups. Also when we looked around the other boats were packed and I purposely chose this charter for their low number of spots they allow, even though their boat can hold many more people. Exceptional trip and fabulous crew. Quick shot from Kihei boat ramp to Molikini. They took us to three separate spots (2 in crater, one on backside!). Like snorkeling in a fish tank. Great descriptions of different fish, geology, history etc. so informative! Their boat is perfect. Not too big, stable and fast, only 15 people on board. Great snorkel gear including prescription masks. No need to rent in town. Plenty of flotation devices for those uncomfortable or unfamiliar with snorkeling. Very accommodating and great with the young kids taking part. The joy and wonder of the littles was priceless. As a bonus, took us to real Turtle Town off Makena. As captain said, "we can't make it any easier for you!" He wasn't exaggerating. We swam with at least a dozen just cruising around us and nesting on sea floor about 15-20 feet below. Wow! The crew were delightful. Thoughtful, genuine, funny, caring, safe and enthusiastic. You could tell they love their jobs. Bonus points for how compassionate they were with one tourist not feeling well. Having done numerous snorkel trips on Maui and Big Island, this was hands down the best ever. BTW, even if you're staying in West Maui, I'd recommend driving down instead of going from Lahaina or Maalea. More time actually snorkeling vs. transporting. The trip was amazing. Our captains Cary and Allison were awesome, helpful, full of tips, helped when my daughter was anxious and would not get in, and kept us moving all morning. Unlike other snorkel trips we saw while we were out, we were encouraged to explore while the captain followed us on the boat. The boat was easy to get on and off and super fun. This is a family owned and operated and the personal attention given to us while we were on the boat was far above our expectations. I honestly can't recommend this trip enough. We searched for snorkel tours before heading to Maui and hit the jackpot with this one! Alex and Bella were an awesome team and made the trip even better. Snorkeled two spot inside the Molokini crater and one on the back side...so many fish!!! Then over to turtle cove, at least a dozen turtles. Bella and Alex were amazing from the get go. Bella is the sweetest and so impressive with her knowledge and she is a mermaid! We got to watch her dive down to some wreckage and it was so cool! Enough with my fan-girling. She is definitely in love the ocean and she made the trip so wonderful! Alex was so fun, his dad jokes and amazing DJ skills made this trip so memorable. We also got to see Molokini for a long while, then we stopped at the sunken side of the crater. It was so beautiful! We also got to stop and snorkel on the back side of Molokini! That was so cool!!! Next we stopped near Red Rock (I think that is what it's called) and we snorkeled there, went about 100 yards out and due to perfect conditions we stopped over some WWII wreckage. We saw perfectly down to a tank and another carrier. It was incredible! Last we ended at Turtle Town. The day would have been 5 stars based on the snorkeling, however Bella and Alex made this a 10+ experience. We loved everything! Highly recommend. If you do nothing else on your trip to Maui, book this excursion!!! read more

My family and I went on a snorkel experience with Maui Snorkel today. It was fantastic. Our captain was Jen and her first mate Bella were a pleasure to have this experience with. I had not snorkeled in awhile and was a little hesitant. Bella reassured me and got me safely into the water with no problems.The crew gave us lots of interesting information about Molokini and the surrounding area. They also gave us tips of places to go and visit while visiting the islands. The equipment was great and easy to use. Bella made sure everything fit correctly and made sure before I got into the water that everything worked and I felt secure. Our whole family loved the trip. Great experience of molokini crater snorkeling with these guys. We saw lot of different types of fishes including baby shark and several turtles. Trip started at 7am and ended at around 10.45am. So we got remaining of the day for other fun to do. We snorkelled at 4 spots. One of the advantages of these guys is, it starts from Kihei boat ramp which is closer to Molokini crater so you spend less time in going to crater. First they take you to left end of crater, then right end, then back of crater and then turtle village. Our tour guide chose the place based on best conditions suitable for snorkeling. Don't expect fancy food and cinnamon buns like other tours. These guys focus on snorkeling experience which is what we liked. Smaller groups of 16 people helps as well. read more

I did days of research for this tour. I wanted a boat out of Kihei which is where we were staying. I also wanted a short ride to Molokini so we would spend more time in the water. And my wife and I also wanted a boat with a restroom and one that supplied wetsuit tops since we planned to be in the water most of the time. We got all that and more with Maui Snorkel Charters. Most of the half day tours are about the same price so the previous factors were the deciding ones for us. The bonus was the knowledge and fun nature of the captain and crew. The captain gave a great snorkel gear orientation which made my wife feel very comfortable and relaxed in the water. Easy access in and out of the boat. We snorkeled at 3 Molokini spots including the backside and it was spectacular. Big boats can't go backside. Excellent visibility. Then we did the Turtle Town 'cleaning station.' We loved every minute of this trip and it was well worth the price we paid. No extra charge for wetsuits and great banana bread was a bonus! On the way back, whales were singing and if you put your ear on the boat's roof metal support tube you can hear it amplified! One was singing under our boat so we just stopped and listened. incredible! Thank you MSC! We will always remember this experience. Don't miss this tour. They live up to their slogan 'Best Day Ever.' Had the BEST time!! It was beautiful weather the day we went out and our guides took us to four amazing spots! We went to two different spots at Molokini and were constantly amazed at the variety of colorful fish. They also took us to two spots to see turtles. We saw dozens of turtles of various sizes and it was so amazing swimming with them! (of course, please respect them and keep at least 10 feet away :) ) We didn't see any reef sharks but another couple on our boat did when we were at Molokini! Gear and snacks were provided. They also provided de-fog for the goggles (which worked so well) and reef safe sunscreen. The boat itself was great and everyone had plenty of room. There's a dry box under each seat for your belongings. I was excited but very nervous for this just due to having a general small fear of the ocean. But the guides were great and gave safety tips and told us exactly where strong currents were so we knew to avoid those spots. One of the spots they planned on taking us to ended up not being the safest just due to the current water conditions so we skipped it. I definitely felt like they had our best interest in mind and felt very safe the entire time. We plan to book with them every single time we come back to Maui. They are worth EVERY penny. read more

We rented the No Ka Oi as a private charter for the family. It was amazing. Captain Doug and Ryan were super professional and friendly. They observed all the best practices of sanitizing and both Capt Doug and Ryan wore their masks the entire duration of the trip. We saw a variety of fish, a few sea turtles, an eel, and a spotted eagle ray, which they said was a rare sight. I've seen more density and diversity of fish snorkeling in Mexico and in Hanauma Bay, Oahu. read more
