If you're visiting from out of town, the maverick helicopter tour is not to be missed! You see a whole side of Maui and other Hawaiian islands that cannot be seen from the ground. The tour is about 55 min, and you see everything from waterfalls to whales in the ocean. It's spectacular! Jake (if I remember his name correctly) is the best. He was so knowledgeable and had tons of fun facts about Hawaii. He was even lightened the mood when my sister got motion sickness. That being said, if you or someone you travel with usually gets motion sickness easily, I recommend some medication beforehand. Not to worry either way cuz they're prepared for instances like that with wet towels and barf bags. read more

My boyfriend and I booked a helicopter tour right at the beginning of our week long trip in Maui. Our tour was for the day before we left and it was the perfect way to bookend our trip. The staff was so nice and welcoming. The woman who booked our flight was extremely helpful and friendly. On the day of our tour, we met our pilot, Felix I believe was his name and he was awesome! I had never been in a helicopter before, I was a little nervous but the entire trip was amazing! Getting to see Hawaii from a different perspective was a once in a lifetime experience. We landed in the Hana Rainforest and it was beyond beautiful. We were given water and champagne, we got to take pictures and take in the views. I highly recommend this trip to anyone. We had paid for the Dream Flight but due to rain & clouds our pilot gave us an alternative flight suggestion which was absolutely breath-takingly beautiful. He was very knowledgeable and always asked how we were doing which this being my first helicopter flight and not a big fan of flying anyway meant a great deal. They are first class from the time you pull into their parking lot to the time you set back down. No hard push sales to purchase the pictures/video at the end. We were recently on vacation in Maui and we decided to go on a helicopter ride. I did my research and got a recommendation from a local snorkel shop. We originally choose the Maui spirit tour, however there was not enough people signed up for that tour. So, they upgraded us to the Maui Dream tour. Our pilot was Brad-He was professional, friendly, skilled, knowlegeable, accommadating. I could go on and on. He deserves a raise. We had a wonderful time and the views were breathtaking. The only reason we did not give it 5 stars is that the video we planned to send to some family that can not travel did not work which was a bummer. Great experience though! We were trying to book a Maui ride for the same week during June'22 and couldn't get availability anywhere else. Thankfully we called Maverick and they were able to spin up a ride for us. We flew with Jake Harmon on a 60 min tour of the Maui Molokai voyage. We arrived 30 mins prior to our departure and the reception was helpful and quick in completing the documentation. Soon Jake took over, helped us get family portraits with the helicopter and explained the emergency procedure in case it was needed. Jake helped us get settled in the vehicle from helping with life jackets to seat belts and headphones. Once we started the journey, Jake was very generous and patient in explaining the details of the areas we were on top of, history, wild/ocean life etc especially the endless questions from our 6 year old. What an amazing flight. Our pilot, captain Nick, was so personable and knowledgeable. His info about plants, topography, fauna and Hawaiian history was vast. If you need a helicopter tour named after a Top Gun character, look no further - go with Maverick. And somehow "Jester" and "Goose" helicopters doesn't sound quite right. Anyway, look at their photos and videos - they are in no way an exaggeration. This is what you will experience. I hesitate to over hype this (especially given the fairly high cost involved) but some of these views and locations may bring a tear to your eye. I'm sure all the other helo companies are great too (and Yelpers say they are) but we happened to use Maverick - which had the only slots left when we did a last minute weekday morning booking. (Last minute = the evening before!) I realized after booking that this is the same company I happened to use for a night flight over the Vegas strip some years ago... which was the surprise highlight of that vacation. In both cases, the experience had excellent service and communication about how everything worked - which is nice if you're a first timer in a helicopter. read more

My wife and I flew the West Maui - Moloka'i tour and it was spectacular. Maverick's terminal is very nice and we were greeted and checked in by a friendly, professional staff. After a safety briefing, the flight left on time. Our pilot and guide Eddie was excellent in both roles. The flight itself was breathtaking. There were multiple spectacular waterfalls on both Maui and Moloka'i and a variety of remote, beautiful rainforest valleys. The sea cliffs of Moloka'i as well as the fish ponds and fringing reef were all amazing. We were even able to spot two gigantic manta rays from the air. If you want to pay 1200 for an hour and that your pilot makes you feel like he's making you a favor , this is the place , "mr" Felix took the entire hour to flirt to my wife and totally forgot about the rest of the passengers , we had an older lady throwing up in the back of the helicopter but Mr pilot didn't seam to care much about it... also it's funny the way they arrange the seating ... We had an incredible rainforest tour back in October. It ended up only being four passengers and our pilot which made for a much more personal tour. The hangar is easy to find. Be sure to follow heliport signs NOT airport signs. Everything went smoothly and we didn't need to arrive as early as they suggested but they also didn't seem extremely busy. Our captain was very nice and made us feel very comfortable about getting into a tin can with a stranger at the helm as is flies off into the air. The tour was incredible. Maverick actually owns a piece of the rainforest where you land and a local is there to show you around. We got bananas right off the tree for breakfast! I wasn't very excited about the horticulture part of the tour but I have to admit that I found all of it extremely interesting! You learn so much about the native and invasive plant life and the local people. I would definitely fly with Maverick again! read more

My initial reservations were through a 3rd party business. When i called to confirm my reservation, i was told i didn't have one and to contact the 3rd party people. When contacting them, i was told my order never went through because no matter how many times they tried contacting Maverick, no one ever answered the phone. When 3rd party was finally able to get through, they rescheduled our tour. The day before the tour, i missed a call from Maverick as i was on another tour. I then called and was told our helicopter was in for maintenance and we needed to reschedule. They gave me a new date/time, which i had to confirm with all other participants. We are in town visiting and we were told we had to do the helicopter tour with maverick of the island and we are so glad we did. The front office staff was extremely friendly upon our arrive and checked us in quickly. Our pilot Alex then took the time to personally introduce himself to each of us individually (it is 6 people to a tour) before the tour started. The tour itself was amazing! The views were absolutely breathtaking and to see the island and all the waterfalls was beautiful. Alex was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had and gave us all sorts of fun facts and details about the island. He also made a point to ask us constantly if we were all comfortable and if we needed more air or less air etc. Honestly I had some air sickness (never fun!) however Alex was extremely professional and kind. He made sure I was okay and offered me a wet nap and made sure I was okay. He made what could have been a difficult or embarrassing situation a low key and non event. After doing some research about numerous helicopter companies, I chose Maverick based on the positive reviews and because they had a tour that has a rainforest stop. The tour itself was awesome, our pilot was really cool, and they did a good job of switching everyone around on the helicopter to give everyone a chance at the best views. Only downside to the tour was that we left an HOUR later than scheduled. Everyone at the front desk was nice and apologetic, and kept saying it was because the helicopter was fueling still. Does it take 30 mins for a helicopter to fuel?!? They made this up to us by giving everyone in our group a free t-shirt and professional helicopter photo that they take before you go in. So it was a great experience, I loved all the greenery and waterfalls, just be aware for planning purposes, that you might leave an hour later and be late to other activities planned throughout your day. read more

We went on a helicopter ride 02/10/21 with Maverick Helicopters and it was absolutely amazing. We had the most incredible time and definitely worth every penny. Jake was our pilot and he was very knowledgeable and made sure everyone on the ride got to see everything. We spotted whales and he would get closer so we could see as well as move the Helicopter so the people behind us could see. He has answers to to our questions and some awesome facts about the islands we saw. He also had a great Playlist which made the ride even more enjoyable. We booked our flight while on vacation and we super excited. We drove 1.5hours each way for the tour. When we arrived, we check and awaited the flight. We were then told that both helicopters could NOT fly because of mechanical issues. So the offered us a refund and said that we could try to find another time to book a tour, which of course we have no time left on vacation here available because we are only here 5 days. That ruined the entire afternoon on one of the limited 3 full days we are in Maui. We could have done so many other things but now can't because of their lack of communication an preparation. Choose any other company other than Maverick. Terrible experience, no additional solutions to offer, poor leadership. read more
