They take the time to explain you different tire options, speed ratings, tread types etc. Not only did they not try to up sell me, but they told me about a near identical tire that was on sale and saved me a lot of money over just replacing with the same tires that I had. They also did not try to sell my any extra services, and just explained services they would be happy to do for me, but were not urgent. First, the front counter person was not happy that I presented a Groupon for the State Inspection and Oil Change. Fine, I get it, you want to charge more for your service. If that's so, don't offer Groupon to entice new consumers to your store. Now, here is where the story turns juicy. Instead of following my instructions and placing the oil I purchase from Napa to be fill into my vehicle, they use their own oil, which, as a business owner, you could have saved money. SERIOUSLY, the technician completely disregarded my instructions to use my oil that I purchased from anther location and siting in the front seat of the car, which saves you money, and fills the tank with their own. PLUS, THEY INSTALLED THE WRONG GRADE OF OIL IN THE TANK. John, the service writer exclaimed, "it's ok to use 0w 20, instead of 5w 20, since they are so similar." I replied, "oh really, so if my SUV needs a new engine because of this mistake, you certainly are going to pay for it, right?" With my response, John said that he will change the oil again and use the same filter that was newly installed. However, at this point, I didn't even want them to change my oil any longer. I was unsure what would happen next if they did. So, I declined the offer. Finally, my check engine light illuminated orange as I traveled to the store. I knew it was for a something with the fuel system which was fixed. Since they accommodated me with returning so I could pass my emission test which failed the first time, I feel that an increase from one star to two is sufficient. Though, my visit there will be my last.

The very next day, I drove my SUV to Vec Tire and Phil, the service tech, evaluated my SUV. The braking system needed to be replaced, and the axle needed to be repaired. Zach gave offered good price for repairs, and my vehicle was up and running a few days later. My SUV runs great and I feel the entire team there are honest and open with their customers.

I wanted to write this short review as a follow up on the great service provided by Tom & son's at their great establishment. So, I went into Philly a few weeks before the big snow storm and possibly hit a speed bump, and possibly caught some air with a not so smooth landing. Two weeks later we had the biggest storm of the year. I had to leave my home and I drove on a street near my home that hadn't been plowed yet. After that I started hearing a scratching sound every time I left my driveway and occasionally on the road. When I checked I saw I had dented a panel that covers the front end of my car. I decided to head to Tom's one day while doing some errands to see if he could take care of it. Just a pop-in. I told what had happened and he could actually see it from just looking under, so he can let me know when to bring it in and all that. He figured the part and asked if I had bought it already cus I did bring him my fog light before. He remembered. So I told him no, he'd have to order it. He said to bring it in and they'd use the lift. In my head I was like, really now?! Cool! A young man I believe his son, asked for my keys and drove it in and put it on the lift. He said the damage was minimal and nothing else seamed to be at all. He took out the panel and reworked it back to normal. The whole experience was only about 20 min and the cool part was they let me stay inside while doing it! They brought the car down and asked Tom "How much I owe'ya?" He said "Nah, don't worry about it." I said really? Let me at least give you something for lunch or something for you guys. And he said you're good don't worry about it. I thanked him with a firm handshake and hug and thanked his son as well and went about my day. It was a minor thing but it had a world of difference to me, not only that he didn't charge but just giving that feeling of how my fellow man could help me out in a time of need. I was very relieved because had that not been fixed other issues could arise (Think of Newman when he hit that sewing machine on the highway) that's what I was worried about. Hahaha! This business is truly in my heart and should be in yours too, so stop in, they are local! I said I'd be visiting them again, and I was riiight! :)

I have been trying for months to reach this business by phone, and have not had one phone call returned, despite leaving a couple of messages. I finally decided to try reaching out through Yelp. I thought that I'd finally made some headway, as shortly after filling out the form, I received a response with a list of their services and their prices. But it turns out that was merely an automated system response. Where it gets worse is I responded with the service that I would have liked. . . But crickets. Even though Yelp showed that my message was "Read". I gave them a few days, assuming that they were just busy. But I can't believe that a business can be so busy as to not provide at least an acknowledgement. My final communication was reaching out to thank them for their initial automated response and mentioning that I assume they have no availability. And again. . . crickets. The final straw was the notification that my message on Yelp had indeed been received and "Read", yet still ignored. I really wanted and tried to support this women-owned business, but I am extremely disappointed in their lack of communication. Reply to Business Owner's Response: A quick search of my cell phone's call history shows that I did in fact call the correct number. The screenshot below shows that I have been trying to reach out to you since May 2025. And if you look closer, you will see that each of the icons are outgoing calls. Not one call back was ever received from you, despite the voicemail messages that I left. Additionally, I still have my landline, so a couple of calls were also made using that phone number. However, I don't feel that it's necessary to provide a screenshot of those call records. After my last call of October 28, 2025, I finally reached out to you through Yelp in November 2025, which leads us to this review. Thank you for your response to my review, although I wish that I could have received a proper response outside of this forum. Good luck to you in the future.

My wife and I are returning customers. The entire team at this particular location is nothing short of outstanding! We were treated professionally and kindly from the very first phone call. The manager was just as concerned about keeping costs within our budget as we were. Parts and labor pricing was absolutely fair and affordable for the work we had done even though she has an import and I have a domestic. We've had issues in the past with other establishments but now plan to continue going to Mavis for all of our maintenance needs. Professional, honest and thorough. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone in need of an efficient and honest mechanic. I went in for tire alignment and Shawn B sat down and went over all of the results and possible causes for my problems. The mechanic Sean K even stopped out to check that everything was ok before I left and made sure I did not have any additional questions. This is fantastic shop and will absolutly recommend STS in abington to anyone I come across. It is not every day you have a good experience at an auto shop but STS is a shining example of what other should strive to be. read more
