Paid top dollar for a minor brake repair. Service manager claimed they couldn't repair properly since it was was way over their expertise. If you like paying, then having to do the repair yourself, this is the place to go. Trying to reach anyone one with any authority is like trying to reach OZ. 11 August 2025, I was eventually contacted by Bob who is a regional Manager. They fixed what they could that day, let me know what was going on with the other stuff, and set me up with an appointment. All in all a very satisfying car garage experience. read more

We had an appointment for 10am and we didn't even get noticed in the waiting room until about 12:30pm. I simply went in to get two snow tires put on and apparently that takes 3 hours to do. When I finally got my car back, the bill had extra shit on it that we didn't ask for. On top of being charged more for bullshit because of being a women, they messed up my front tires and now my car automatically goes off to the right if your not pulling on the wheel to the left. It's absolutely fucking absurd the service they provide. I don't recommend a living soul to visit this nasty establishment. read more

I recently went with Mavis for new tires. I bought the tires thru their toll free corporate number. Before I took my Jeep into that location, it drove great. I had no issues and went down the road straight before the new tires. The day they were installed the employee handling my appointment, convinced me that along with the new tires we should do an alignment as well. He said with new tires its recommended to have that done to make sure the new tires wear correctly. The jeep drove great so I take this as a money grab and probably didn't have to be done and I wish i didn't have that extra service. Work was completed, I picked up my Jeep and then headed home on the NY state thruway. The jeep had a bad vibration and pulled to the left. I called Mavis and made an appointment to bring it back. Dropped it off for the follow up appointment to have them correct how it drove. Went back later to pick it up and the manager said the tire balance was way off. So the original person who mounted them did it wrong. I asked about the alignment that I asked to have checked and he said with the tires out of balance that should correct the problem and they didn't do the alignment check. Back on the NYS Thruway, the Jeep still had the same shake and pulled to the left. Talked with the Manager again who said Sunday is the slowest and best day to bring it in so they can make it right. He said both his assistant managers were in that day and would take care of all the issues to make it right. Sunday at 9:00AM when their doors opened, I dropped it off. I specifically told the guy it pulls and we need to redo the alignment. Told them to take their time and I would be back in a few hours. When I picked up my Jeep, Cameron the Assistant Manager said that I was all set. I asked how the alignment was and he said they didn't check that. WHAT? The Manager told me he would make sure it was done correct, I told the employee at drop off it pulled and they needed to check the alignment. He looked at the clock and said "we can't get that done now". I also asked to have the brake pads checked, no mention of that when I picked up the vehicle. So 3 times back to Mavis and still not right! I won't be back, I will take the jeep someplace new! Nobody should have to take a vehicle to a tire shop 4 times to get an alignment and tire balance right. Zack the manager did refund the alignment cost, but now i have a vehicle that needs to go to a different automotive shop. I should of never let them touch the alignment when it was perfect before going to Mavis! read more

Me & my boyfriend are from syracuse and were in buffalo visiting our friend & seeing shane gillis...we were on our way back when we popped a tire & had to get towed to a mavis. We got there at around 5am and waited until they opened at around 9am. When they opened we went right in there, explained our situation, and they were SO helpful. They were compassionate, communicative, upfront & honest, caring, friendly, and got right to it even though they had other appointments/other people waiting!!! This is actually one of the best service experiences ive ever had, and since my boyfriend is a mechanic (and protective of his car lol) he wanted to look at his car before it was done and they had no issue with him doing that!! I highly, highly recommend them for any service issues!! And thank you to them for getting us out of there quickly and for being so so nice!!! read more

Made an appointment a week in advance for an oil change. Got a phone call 20 minutes before my scheduled time asking to move it back 2 hours. I agreed because luckily I was local and needed it done. Show up at the new appointment time - they tell me it's going to be a while and I'd need to get a ride. So they close at 5 on that day, and at 4:45 without hearing a word, I decide to head back over and my car hadn't even moved. As I went to go inside, a mechanic got in my car, backed out of the parking spot, and then got told to park it back in the spot so ANOTHER vehicle that wasn't there before could go into the shop. Another guy inside had been waiting 4 hours to have new tires put on and he also had made an appointment. He told me over a dozen people had come in without appointments and got their vehicles right in. So I asked for my keys, to which the Cameron guy acted completely shocked. Then they have the balls to send me an email the next day saying they're sorry that I MISSED MY APPOINTMENT. Trash business. read more

Before you take your vehicle here, look at the claims about this business Better Business Bureau! I wish I would have and saved myself the headache of dealing with this business. They are unprofessional, rude and ignorant. After wasting four hours on two different days, I find out to fix a low pressure warning they replaced the tire stem valve in the WRONG tire. I confront the assistant manager ZACH about this asking for my money back and was told to contact the regional manager. I have since contacted the Mavis HQs and was told the same. And not surprisingly the regional manager has not returned my call. Save yourself the misery of dealing with this business and go somewhere, anywhere else. read more

We were traveling to spend the night in Batavia when the low tire warning came on. The next morning my husband found a nail in the tire. We arrived at Mavis hoping to get a patch and get on our way sooner than later. We waited outside in line (thankfully first) until the shop opened. The clerk behind the counter took our key after the explanation. We weren't sure how long it would take due to hearing other customers who had appointments and we did not. Fortunately, they took our car in right in, put it on the lift and patched the tire in good time. The price was so reasonable! We did have to come back when heading down the road and the tire pressure was still low. The mechanic had forgotten to pump it up after patching, but it was quickly done and we were safely on our way about five minutes later. Great prices, friendly customer service, time waited as expected. I pre-ordered 4 tires online the day before and came in the next morning to have them installed. Website is very user friendly. As with any car service appointment expect to wait while the work is being done. My appointment was estimated 1 1/2 hours for installation of 4 tires and an alignment. After a lovely trip to Niagra Falls for the weekend, we were traveling back to CT when we noticed our tire pressure was low. We exited in Batavia to put air in the tire and saw a nail. *sigh It just so happened that a tire tow truck was at the gas station and told us to drive up the road to Mavis - there was a shop open on Sunday that could help. We got to the shop and it was a 45 minute wait for a new tire. One of the tech's took it upon himself to help us out right away & patch our tire. We went in to pay & were told not to worry about it... it was on the house. I've only seen this type of goodwill in movies. Wish I would have got the tech's name, but everything happened so fast. I have to say this place is the best. The front counter manager Dustin, was one of the best I"ve ever seen. Very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly,, and saved me money on tires. Very honest also. Edit: I was contacted very quickly by their corporate office and they apologized profusely and made it right. Only lost a star because they said they couldn't reprogram the TPMS. I have the tool to do it myself but it seems unreal that a tire shop wouldn't have a TPMS tool for a GM car. They're $15 and reprogramming takes 60 seconds. That aside, a very positive outcome from a less than pleasant situation. Don't waste your time. Clearly the associates can't read a clock. I pulled in at 5:46 after having a bad experience at their competitor across the street and the door was lock and an older gentleman stared at me from behind the counter. I just wanted a quote that would have taken 5 minutes. I respect everyone needs time off but it wasn't like it was 5:59. They lost my business for life. read more

I am always pleased with the fast service at Mavis when I need to get my inspection done or an oil change. I was especially thankful a few days ago when one of my tires had extremely low pressure. I took my vehicle in and they quickly found a small hole and patched it. I waited in the waiting area, but it took no time at all! Called ahead and asked if they could take walk-ins. The guy was super super nice. He said he could get me in but I might have a little wait. Drove to Batavia, went in and the guy at the counter said he couldn't touch my car for at least 2 hours and he wanted me to leave it. I couldn't... My husband was at a funeral. He said he couldn't do anything for me cuz he was too busy. I drove my happy butt across the street to Dunn Tire... Literally, across the street... And the tires were cheaper, the front desk guy was awesome and they said they can get me in 30 minutes from when I walked in. It's too bad, because the guy on the phone was the reason I went there at all. He was so nice, accommodating and wanted to help. I won't go here again... Dunn Tire has my business, even if they are a little tiny shop in a hard to park place. read more

I am a courier and was driving back from West Henrietta, NY. I stopped at the rest stop to before continuing my drive home to OH. I woke and had a completely flat tire. The tow truck driver brought me to Batavia NY and to Mavis. I am so pleased I was brought here! I thought I would require a new tire and instead my tire was repaired and I was back on the road. I would give them zero stars if I could. DO NOT GIVE THEM BUSINESS. Called around 10am on a Saturday to get an inspection done on a 2019 Honda that actually only needed a safety inspection and the first guy on the phone said they could do it but then the tech got on the phone and said he was too busy today and hung up on me. I then went to Monro but they had run out of safety stickers. I stopped by Mavis before having to drive to the city to literally just get a sticker slapped on my windshield and asked if they could do it quick. The guy immediately said no. I explained it's literally just a safety check it's not even a full blown inspection. He just kept saying no and that he was done with inspections today. IT WAS 3:30pm AND THEY DON'T CLOSE UNTIL 5. They gave us a "new" tire that just kept leaking air AND they cross threaded one of the lug nuts so my wife and I had to go to a different place to get a new tire and to get the cross threaded lug nut out. Save your money and don't EVER go to this Mavis. It will just end up costing you more money in the long run to fix what they mess up. read more

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving we discovered a nail in one of the tires of my 2007 Honda Civic. I called ahead of time to see if they had a tire, as I had a warranty with an out-of-state company and needed a quick fix until I reached my final destination. They had four or five options for my vehicle. When I rolled in, one of the employees walked out to greet me and recognized me for my vehicle. Right away, I was serviced and the whole process took less than half an hour. Luckily, there were not many people in line, but they employees there work quick and are thorough. read more

I have went to Mavis for many years BUT I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!! I went in for an oil change, supposedly got my oil change, but by the time I got back home (15 miles) THERE WAS NO OIL IN MY CAR!!! My husband and father in law had to do a new oil change on my car and Mavis said there's must be 'something wrong with my car' terrible customer service!!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! On a trip from Rochester to Toronto we had an unexpected problem with the car we were driving. Thinking we would end up having the car towed back to Rochester, we started calling rental car companies as a last ditch effort to continue on with our weekend plans. Unfortunately there are no rental car companies open after noon on Saturday. That was when came across Cole Muffler Brake in Batavia. Dan the Manager was working behind the counter as I explained the symptoms. Within 20 minutes, the car was up on the lift and the problem had been found -- a cracked strut mount. Not sure what caused it, but Dan had us out of there within 40 minutes and we were back on the road to Toronto. Very pleased with the service and professionalism -- they were able to salvage our plans for Toronto. read more

My GMC Accadia takes 18" tires, there is not one place that has them in stock. However, I called Mavis and tt (I believe his name is) Dave. We discussed my options and decided on a brand. He was the most respectful salesman I have dealt with in the 5 years of owning this vehicle. Because I am a female, most men either dummy down the tech talk or try to sell me stuff I do not need. He did not do that, and I would like to thank him for it. Also, when they tell you up front you have the option of leaving your vehicle for 3 hours and coming back for it or sitting and waiting while the work is done, the choice is yours don't get upset because your there for 2 hours. They do not offer appointments, it's first come first serve. The staff is courteous and when i asked how much longer bc i had another appt, they gave me the option of coming back later to have the alignment checked, which i accepted. All in all, the price was about $6 per tire less than the 4 other retailers i called, and the wait was exactly what i expected. Been to mavis in Batavia twice , once for an inspection and the second was for a muffler. Both times they were very helpful. I explained that I was very limited on time due to my work schedule. I went here and had to wait over 2 hours after they changed my appointment to a day later and I could not go on the trip I was supposed to. They then told me that I had a broken bolt in my alignment I could only get at my dealership. I proceeded to leave Mavis Tire and my tire pressure light came on which they assured me was normal. Once I got to my dealership they said the the part was not broken, they could've done my alignment, and they did not clean the rims as they should've. My brand new tires had 17 pounds less air than they should've and now it's going to cost $50 for my dealership to fix what should've never been happening. read more

I'm writing to praise the help I received from Steve (the manager) and Keif (the service tech) at the Batavia, NY Mavis Tire/Cole Muffler location. Several weeks ago I was traveling in the area and my car started to make a scary mechanical noise and shudder. I stopped at the Batavia, NY Mavis location, and Steve and Keif worked quickly to determine the problem (loose lug nuts on the front wheel), and rule out any other serious issues. I was very concerned and stressed, as it was late in the day, I was away from home on business, the rental car agencies were closing, and I was 30 minutes from my hotel with no way to get there. However, they took care of me right away and sent me on my way much relieved. I know it is probably typical to get more complaints than "atta boys" from customer feedback, so I'm writing this review as I want to make sure they know I was very appreciative. read more

Chris, the asst. Manager, made sure I got the best price for not just my tires, but on the ball joint I needed too (and yes I knew I need this so it wasn't one of those pressure things) . Having checked around I know I got the best price on my tires, mavis was at least $100 cheaper then the other places. We will come back next time we need tires. read more

Had a slow leak , I thought it could of been the valve stem, after the manager told me about a half hour wait, they got me right in found a nail in my tire (had a new roof put on the house last summer and it was a nail that must of got missed). They only took 20 min. or so fixed the tire checked all the other ones put air in a couple of other ones, they checked my brakes remounted the tire on the car after re-balancing it.. In and out and the cost was a lot cheaper than 3 other places I called after I got home just to compare prices. When I need tires I will make sure I go to Mavis for new tires.
