I make an appointment on line and one hour before my appointment I call the store to confirm and ask if they have the tires that I need. After 15 minutes waiting on the phone they told me that they don't have the tires and they going to call me when the tires arrive. two days after I still waiting for that phone call. I went in for simple front end brake pad change..simple. They took tires off...walked around the car...all I needed was front brake pad change...Well after hearing that I was relieved, since I mistrust most mechanics and have heard horror stories. then I left to go to store since that was that. I get a phone call 30 minutes later that I have a broken shock absorber in the rear ... when I asked why this wasn't mentioned earlier when I was present .. they said because the "master mechanic" was not available. I would never have left the place if someone mentioned there would be another inspection required. I had an issue going on with my 1.5 year old vehicle that the dealer up the street on rt 46 couldn't figure out. I had vibration on the highway and uneven wear of tires. In one short visit the tech found the misalignment and corrected it in my front end and I have had no further issues. 6 months has elapsed with no further problems so my issue has definitely been resolved by Mavis. Me and my family have had issues with mavis on more than one occasion. I don't know why we went back. Customer service and the guy at the front desk was very rude and had an attitude when asked about why I was being charged for just having them look at a (brand new) leaky tire that they installed. Turns out they used a quick fix technique to seal the tire even though I specifically told them I don't want service from there and I'll pick up the car. The guy at the front desk said with attitude "if there's a problem, don't worry about it, you're free to go" and rudely slide the keys at me across the counter. Last time and this time, I got the impression that they're just there to make a quick buck and care less about the customers and more about the sales. They do half ass 30 sec diagnostics on your vehicle and tell you there 101 things wrong with it and tell you it's urgent to fix it just to make a sale. No thanks. On top of these experiences, their prices are SKY HIGH. You can go somewhere else and get the same work done for 3/4 of the price they're charge. Prices are unreasonable. AVOID MAVIS AT ALL COSTS (at least this location). read more

Got a nail stuck in my tire, they brought it on the lift right away fixed it. Front desk guy was super nice and made sure everything was taken care of and that the tire was plugged. Back on the road, couldn't be happier with the experience. I'll probably end up buying my tires there when I need them. read more

My overall experience at Marvis have been excellent. Though there seems to be a big turn around in employees, everyone has been pleasant and courteous. I haven't had a complaint on the service I've received on any of my visits. I never knew there is such thing as a plastic bag big enough for a tire. I got a kick out of that one. Just got home from Mavis Discount Tires. What a pleasant experience! The manager at the front counter was very attentive and informative while I explained a problem with the tire/low pressure light coming on in my wife's car. I waited in the customer waiting area, which was very clean with a big flatscreen TV. The mechanic put the car up on the lift and inspected every tire. One tire had a metal object stuck in the tread. It was removed and repaired. When they were finished, the manager shook my hand and sent me on my way. What a kind deed from an extremely customer-friendly business. We have gone here for 3 different tires and had been really pleased with the service. My husband was out today when he noticed the pressure in his tire quickly dropping. He pulled in to get it repaired. They turned him away saying they didn't have time. If a customer has a tire going flat, how do you turn them away? Worst place ever! Mavis tire in rockaway are a bunch of rip offs! The tires loose air when it gets cold, guy tells me I need 4 new tire sensors at $80 a piece plus labor lmao, is that so? I went to the MAVIS TIRE ON 619 DUTCHESS TURNPIKE. I had a check engine light on. I was told it was a sensor and it would cost $240 to fix it. I was traveling on a Sunday and was 400 miles from home when my low tire pressure light came on. I googled tire shops near me and found Mavis Tire was open. I told the super nice guy at the front desk what happened and he had me immediately pull around back where one of the techs checked my pressure and filled the tires. The nice tech told me to have a safe trip and to keep an eye on the light and have it checked when I got home. I asked how much and he said no charge. Wow. Today I spend the worst thing that would have happened in this place, first call to make an estimate of how much it would cost me to change the tires, brakes and front discs, they told me that $ 580 would go with everything included, then call to make the appointment, I explained to the person who attended me what only the forwards had to do, when they call me to tell me that my car was ready, they tell me that the fine price would be $ 1010 and I said what ? why? and he told me that they changed the brakes and discs on the back that I had indicated to them, as it is possible that these people make decisions for the clients and do what they want! Needed tires because were we were going on vacation that day. The had the tires in stock which are sometimes not readily available. The car was running fine with no problems, just needed tires. They said that the car was out of alignment so I said ok to do the alignment. They told me the rear shocks were leaking. I had just had service with a dealership and they hadn't said they were leaking. On the trip to up state New York the car seemed like it was shimmying and that the steering wheel also wasn't straight. It was at a 30 degree angle when riding straight. Came back to them in August. They said that they would realign and rebalance the tires. After the 2nd alignment the steering wheel was almost straight, but the car was still shimmying. Again (3rd time) back to them and it was taken for a test drive. That person ( Nick) said feel he didn't feel anything on the ride but 2 of my family did when the drove the car. Nick said he would check the alignment and the balance on redo it again. I was told when they were done that one tire was out of balance. Then they also said the my rear shocks now were completely out of fluid and the front ones were leaking. After this service the car still did not feel right. I decided to take the car today to my dealership and they told me that the car was out of alignment, wheels not balanced and also all of my lug nuts were stripped. They also said the shocks were not leaking. I had to pay another $89 to have the car aligned and now $160 to cut off and replace the 20 lug nuts that they stripped. How dare the rip off customers! They call themselves a tire store. They are totally clueless and also crooks. My car drives the way it should and only because my dealership is cares about their customers. I expect to be reimbursed for the alignment and lugs nuts. read more

I desperately needed a full set of tires in January for my old Toyota. I didn't want to spend top money for tires on a car that has over 200k miles on it. So I got three quotes on comparable 2nd tier new tires. Mavis had the competition beat on price. They will work with you on a deal. They will however take an eternity to install these tires on your car. My car was up on the lift within ten minutes upon entering the shop. It's wheels were off. Ten minutes later a tech informed me that my rear struts were bad. I thanked him for noticing what I already knew but declined on replacing them at the moment. He said he would go ahead and put on the new tires. I watched a NFL playoff game which had just started between Carolina and Arizona. It was the end of the third quarter before my car had new tires. The cartoonish manager assured me that this was typical service. They wanted to take every precaution in balancing the tires. I thought he was joking. He actually wasn't. read more
