This place was a life saver TWICE in a month!!! I had a tire leaking air for a few days...I brought it to my local garage and they couldn't find the leak and to order a new tire was going to take a few days. I took it to Mavis with no appointment and I had my two little girls with me (Summer time-no school!) and they tried SO hard to find the leak...and couldn't find it...but it was obviously leaking somewhere...so I had no choice but to buy a new tire. I couldn't risk driving around with a leaking tire and I watched them work on it for a while trying to figure it out!! Than a month later I am pulling out of store and my OTHER tire hit the curb and I knew I messed it up! Before we left the parking lot my warning light was on and by the time I got to Mavis...it was totally flat. Even though it was the end of the day, they squeezed me in (again my girls were with me!) Both time they kept me in the loop communicating to me. If you could give 0 I would. Scheduled a NYS inspection just because you could get an appointment online, I usually just go to a local mechanic. Told me my front tires won't pass inspection and said for $400 they could give me new tires and do inspection. I said no and took the car to a local mechanic. No issues in and out with a new inspection sticker. Never trust the chain shops there's always something. One thing that was good at least they let me leave without trying to say I failed the inspection and owed them $37. read more

WORST EVER - do not go here! I was told to bring my car in at 9 AM for an alignment and to replace two wheels. When I arrived at 9 AM I was told by a young man with no mask on that there was nobody there to work the computers therefore I would have to wait about 45 minutes. Shortly after he answered a phone call on speaker and the entire waiting room could hear that one of the employees who worked there was having a bad day and running late. About 45 minutes later they took my car in and told me it would take 45 minutes for my tires to be changed and an alignment. They put my car up on the lift and for about an hour and a half my tires were not even taken off of the car I asked them if they could rush please because I had been there since 9 AM and it was now 11 AM. During this time one of the employees took his mask off proceeded to use his bare fingers to get a piece of hair off of his tongue wipe his fingers on his coat and pulled his mask back up never washing his hands or sanitizing - mind you this is in the middle of this global pandemic- and proceeded to use the computer. About seven times I asked how much longer and I was told 20 more minutes. I would've taken my car and left however there were no tires on it the young man who was not wearing a mask who was working on my tires was having trouble inflating the tire properly I saw him very aggressively working on my rims. I finally said to the manager this was ridiculous I had now been waiting for 4 1/2 hours for two tires to be changed about half hour later they pulled my car out with no alignment being performed never balancing my tires after putting the new wheels on I looked at my brand new rim and it was completely scratched up and ruined. The guys at the counter were nice and they squeezed me in last second because I had a brake issue where my brake light came on. They fixed my brakes but unfortunately did not actually fix the issue that caused my brake light to go on. Honestly they may have made the situation worse by rushing through my brake job while squeezing me in. I ended up having to go to another shop and paid over $1,500 for a real fix after spending $450 at Mavis for new brakes and rotors. I'm sure I was close to needing both so it wasn't a total waste of money but it wasn't the fix I needed at the time. The lesson here is clear, this is a good shop for simple items like tires, simple brake changes, and other routine maintenance. Then I speak to the manager there and he wanted to charge me double for the services. I explained to him that I have an order confirmation and he says he can't find it in the computer system. Horrible again!!!!! After a bad $2000 experience with mavis in 2019. I decided to try to give them a third chance abd get a ny state inspection done. I called michael at 20 w jericho at 3 pm. He said they could definitely squeeze me in but they close at 5 so id have to get there by 3:15. I did make it there and I decided to take a walk while I waited. Michael calls me at 4 and says my registration is invalid and he cannot complete the inspection. I asked him if this is a common occurrence ? He said it's never happened before. Then I asked him what would be the normal procedure check with the DMV if my registration is in fact invalid ? He kind of stuttered and hesitated and said yeah. When I came to pick up the car Michael sat using his phone I didn't even acknowledge me . when another customer came in behind me looking for new tires he rushed outside to see if he could help them. I was a little bit surprised that this Behavior. So I helped myself to my key got in my car and left. the next day at the Toyota dealership the car inspected just fine and there was no issue with the registration . Kind of leads me to believe maybe Michael just didn't want to inspect my car because he ran out of time and he over promised? I don't know what was the reason for his odd behavior. And of course I was reprimanded by my wife for going back to Mavis yet again to be disappointed . I think maybe it's maybe slipping in a customer service department. Horrible service!! Went to Mavis in Huntington to get a tire rotation on my Altima. My vehicle had no issues no dashboard lights on.. Car was in perfect working condition. Tires got rotated and every light on dash was on ABS, TPMS, TRACTION and Speedometer stopped working..Then after driving for 20 minutes my steering became unstable and I went back to Mavis and spoke to the 3 idiots that rotated my tires had no idea what happen but proceeded to tell me they didn't turn off car during rotation and they tells me my tranny is going.. I've had tranny issues before and ITS NOT MY TRANSMISSION!!They were rude told me to go fuk myself, refused to give their names and now my 2014 Altima is completely undrivable.. I will have car towed to Nissan dealership, contacted my lawyer and will be filing a lawsuit.. 20 East Jerico Tpke. has got to be the number one worst Mavis on Long Island. Stay far and away from this place. Once you walk in to this place get ready for the cold icey far away look in the front desk person's eyes. Then be prepared to be ignored for a while. I don't understand how a place that disregards customers who obviously are having car problems could stay in business. They make it sound like they are doing you a favor. The last I checked I had to pay for the services rendered on my car. It's not like they had to pay me for walking in! There is a Mavis at 929 E Jericho Turnpike who are fantastic and do a fabulous job and are courteous to their paying customers. I came in to see if my tire could be patched to which the service manager then deflated my tire and told me I had to get a new one. The only option he gave me was a tire that cost over 200 dollars which I then told him was not in my budget. He would not give me back my car and now I have to have it towed although they are not legally allowed to keep my car. My tire had a slow leak something that could have waited one more day until I was able to purchase new tires from All Weather Tires who unfortunately are closed on Sunday. Brought it to Skuffy's for the work. Skuffy's did a fine job. BUT...they sent it to Mavis for the alignment. Got the car back, alignment was still off. Brought it back, oh, our bad, looks like they did not do the alignment. Waited, while they did the alignment. After driving it a short while (a few days), the alignment still felt "off". Brought it back. Fixed it again. (Did they really, or did they bring it in the back, make us wait an hour and then give us the car back?) Still, not right. Called our mechanic who is sending us to someone he uses and trusts. The new mechanic told us there is still $1500 worth of repairs to be done. (We have been going to our mechanic for 30 years, so we trust their recommendation.) * Do not go here. No, never, not in a million years. And just in case, write a letter to your future descendants and date it "Do not open for a million years." And when they open it, tell them DO NOT GO TO MAVIS. *UPDATE: The "other" place which our mechanic (Marrone's - best in Huntington) sent us is Coventry Motors. For starters I would give this place negative stars if possible. The man that I dealt with was absolute scum. Mike. I brought my car there to get the brake pads changed and an inspection which was due at the END of the month. But I told them, that I need new brake pads first. After leaving my car there for three hours, I get there, and absolutely nothing has been done to the car, because they said they needed authorization to do the work and they tried calling me... Which they recorded the wrong number apparently. But, I'm pretty sure my authorization was when I drop my car off and said do this and do that. So why wasn't that done. I told him I could not wait any longer and I had to go to work, but I would bring my car back tomorrow. So this asshole, decides to remove my inspection sticker from the car, run the inspection on the car that clearly won't pass because of the brakes, and he failed the cars inspection. WTF! Let me remind you, that my inspection was due at the end of the month. All because he thought that I was going somewhere else to get the work done when in actuality, I really just had work and was planning on bringing the car back the next day. Big baby. I have been a customer of Mavis Tire for years and I don't know why. One would think a popular chain like this would have competent managers and talented employees. For the most part I have not found a center that has both. One Center in Mt Sinai, NY put the wrong type oil in my engine and changed the wrong brakes. Another center patched the wrong tire. Today I'm in Huntington Station getting an inspection and tire rotation. Something that should take 30-40 minutes has taken over 1-1/2 hours so far because the techs talk more then they work. (BTW, 5 bays with only 3 cars including mine) Now they tell me they can't issue a sticker unless I replace my wiper blades which are not in stock so now I have no choice but to wait another 30-40 minutes before they arrive. I am convinced that I am the idiot for returning to the same center that managed to screw up my alignment not once but twice! Oh! I almost forgot the time they changed my brakes that squeaked and rattled whenever I came to a stop and tried to tell me I was hallucinating. Yes folks, I am the idiot. I will pay my tab and Be done with them forever. Round 2 Just when you think the situation here can't get worse. They let my car sit in the driveway for 35 minutes before telling me it was done. Sean lied to me and said they just finished. Now I'm into this for 3 hours. I pay my bill and drive away. When I reach my destination I realized they never rotated my tires. It seems incompetence is running wild in this place. Of course the idiot (me) returns because I wanted done. I asked to speak to the manager Steve and he starts to yell and argue with me that it's my fault that I had to wait three hours while ignoring the fact that the rotation was not done. Bought tires yesterday at this location and they had to get delivered, which is fine. I received a call this morning that the tires were there and that I could come by to get them put on. I was a little busy so i asked how long they would take and if a lot other people were coming in today, I was told it would take just over an hour to which I replied asking how 2 o'clock was and was told it was fine. Here's where the problem starts: I got there at 2 and checked in and told them I was in a rush, they said I would be the next car. They took my keys and my file in a plastic folder and held onto it and told me to wait in the waiting area. For the first 2 hours they didn't even touch my car, even after my repeated nudges of how I was on a schedule. At 4 o'clock I said I would leave and asked for my keys back as I had to go to work and they made up some B.S. about having to work on the car now that it is in the system and that it would only take 25 minutes. I should have been done by 3:30 but didn't end up leaving until 5! I asked for some sort of a discount because I had to wait so long and he only took off ten dollars! I will not be going to this location again! Ever! EDIT: The day after this review went up, a customer service representative messaged me asking for all the details regarding my experience and the transaction. I provided all that was asked for within 24 hours and have still not heard back after 2 weeks! How much worse can this get?!? Made an appointment today for an inspection. Arrived to be told they don't do inspections on Wednesday, and this happens all the time. Contacted the District Manager for Mavis. I explained the issue. His response was to go to another store and he would look into it. He did not ask for my name or number to follow up with me on a resolution or try to fix my situation. Feedback from the mechanic is this issue has been going on forever and I had to call a District Manager. She needed a tune up, new air filter and oil change, she has done business with establishment in the past for tires. she was greeted by Steve and she explained everything she need Steve was able to give her a quote with a joke and then he told her the real price. They were able to take care of her very quickly and efficiently. Steve was very friendly and helpful, even accepted on line coupon with no hassle. Price for all this was reasonable. Had new tires and alignment done on my Jeep on November 23rd. Rt rear tire has a slow leak. Went back to Mavis on 20 West Jericho this morning and was told it was very busy...at least 1 1/2 hour wait..try coming back later when it's not as busy. Went back at 2 o'clock. Was told at least a 2 hour wait. I explained I had someplace to go at 3:30 and was leaving for Pennsylvania at 6 am. Told me to try STS up the block (apparently it's owned by Mavis). They told me a couple hours also. Returned to Mavis to talk to the manager and was told there was nothing he could do for me. Just had my Pilots tires replaced a month ago also and had an alignment done. So I said your quick to take my money ( close to 2 grand between the 2 vehicles) but not so quick to try and keep me happy after you have my money. DONT BRING YOUR CAR HERE! FRAUD!!!!! This is an updated review. This company doesn't even deserve ONE STAR!!! I took my 2016 Toyota Camry in for an oil change on 8/2. The guys proceeded to tell me all 4 of my struts plus an alignment was needed. I drive my car 60miles to and from work so figured I probably needed it. After speaking to my husband I realized my car didn't need this! However I already had the rental car from Enterprise by way of Mavis Tire, and my car was in Mavis shop. Enterprise had to pick me up from Mavis and take me back to their store in order for me to rent a car for the day. I had to put a hold on my credit card and put down my license as is for any car rental. I then returned the Enterprise truck the very next afternoon on 8/3 to Mavis, as I was told to do by Mavis. I picked up my car, after riding in my car for a day I heard a crazy noise I never heard from my new car before. I returned my car the very next day to Mavis on 8/4. They told me they didn't have a rental for me and that Enterpeise was closed. I waited 2 days and then had to call Mavis on 8/7 to find out the status of my car. They NEVER call you to let you know what's going on with your car. So when I demanded that they give me a rental until my car was fixed, they told me Enterprise didn't open until 9am. I called Mavis at 8:15am. I told them I didn't care and I wanted a rental asap! Noel, the Mavis employee surprisingly picked me up from my home in the SAME truck I had rented days before! When I dropped Noel off at Mavis I realized the gas tank had 1/8 of gas in it. I called Enterprise to tell them I was NOT going to return the truck on a full tank of gas. They informed me that the truck had NEVER been returned to Enterprise since the day I rented it. Which means Mavis employees had been riding and using this truck FRAUDULENTLY UNDER MY NAME AND MY CREDIT CARD for 5 days! Also Enterpirse told me they open at 7:30am!!! Also Noel told me they put in a defective strut , which was why my car made that sound! They stripped my car of ALL Toyota parts and put in defective parts! Mavis refuses to give me a full refund as I demanded for a full refund and my car back immediately. I no longer trusted them !!! They used a rental car under my name and credit card. Horrible service. I left my car at 9 am to install 3 new tires and a wheel alignment. Didn't start work on my car until 6:40 pm. When I left my car I was told it would take a couple of hours, it took almost 9 hours before they started working on my car. I called at 1:30 pm and was told my car was next, that was obviously a lie, shouldn't tell lies to customers, gets them very angry. When I told the service manager I didn't appreciate being lied too, he said he didn't know. Who else is gonna know what's going on at this location? Corporate really needs to look at what's going on at this location. They don't schedule things properly. When I finally get my car back at 7:45 pm the mechanic had to pull it back into the bay because my low tire pressure warning light was on, you would think he would check these things before trying to give the car back to the customer. The mechanic had the nerve to get upset because I didn't give him a tip. Here's a tip for you , do your job!!!! This is the second time something like this has happened. I've been to my mechanic & the dealership after that & they both said my shocks were fine. Interestinggggggg...Needless to say I won't be back here. Called up at 130 on a Saturday afternoon to see if they could repair my leaking tire. The women said yes come down. I get there at 140 and give all of the same info to the man behind the counter even though I gave the women on the phone all the info and she gave me an order number. The man said it would take an hour and we could wait or come back to pick the car up. Two hours and twenty minutes went by before I call back for them to tell me all of the same cars are still in the bays and they won't get to my car today. So I went back to pick up my car. The funny thing is if they didn't mention that they were working on same cars I wouldn't even have looked for the three cars that were in the bays when I arrived. I took note because I thought great they have room for my car and it should be done soon. But there were now 5 different cars being worked on and I guess their money was greener then mine?
