I had a blow out on 95 today and was towed to Mavis in Mamaroneck. They didn't have the tire I needed but changed the tire out for me quickly and at no charge. After taking one look at the tire they knew why I was so spooked. Their graciousness was such a sorely needed bit of kindness. I'm going to Mavis for tires from here on out of appreciation. He was honest and up front about the services that I needed, brought me into the service bay to see the condition of my brakes and rotors and explained why I needed them to be replaced. He was patient and answered all of my many questions. He also helped me make the best affordable decision when choosing my new tires. He set my expectations on how long the service would take and kept me updated throughout the process. The entire staff at this location was friendly and courteous. Went here recently for an oil change. I made an appointment online a few days beforehand which was simple. Upon arriving I went to the front desk and told the girl there that I had made an appointment. While she was friendly she was extremely slow. It took nearly ten minutes for her to get everything sorted out even though I had already filled out some information when I made my reservation online. I started feeling bad for the line that was forming behind me because of how slow the check in process was. I told her I'd be staying at the shop while my car had an oil change. My car was taken in fairly quickly but this has to have been the slowest oil change I've ever experienced. There were not many cars in the garage but they must have been switching back and forth between all of them because my oil change took an hour and a half! They had a small sitting area that I tried to patiently wait in for this everlasting oil change, but the front door kept getting stuck open so it was freezing. The mechanic didn't try to haggle me for more money by claiming something was a problem when it wasn't which was nice. He did mention my power steering fluid being dirty and offered a discounted price (or so he said), but I had no more patience to sit there while that was being done. Overall I was pretty unimpressed with my experience here and likely won't be returning. Staff was all very friendly but the service was just not that great. read more

Brought my car in to get new tires, they tell me the two tires will take an hour. 30 minidress into the job, they tell me I need brake pads, I ok the work. Then after an hour an a half, I find out they don't have the parts and I'm waiting over 2.5 hours. Mavis is deceptive, if they told me the truth, I would have dropped the car off another day. It is horrible when you are told one thing, only for another thing to happen. I don't trust the employees at Mavis Tires! The management is nasty, one manager was about to send me home with only the front brake pads! I was so scared of their work I had to take my car to another tire center to make sure my car was drivable. Next email will be to corporate and the Better Business Bureau!! read more

This is now my 3rd attempt at someone from Mavis responding to me. I've contacted corporate on Monday of this week and Friday of this week and both times was advised someone would reach out to me. No one ever did. I brought my 2013 Nissan Sentra to Mavis in Mamaroneck nearly 3 weeks ago now for brake shoes and an adjuster install. They did the repair and I brought my car home. The next morning I checked my emergency brake and it did not work at all. When I called the shop they told me that I could bring it at 530pm the following day after work. I did and the representative told me he couldn't fix it today because it was too late in the day. I argued that I was told otherwise and they finally looked at it. The rep continued to tell me that the emergency brake was not something checked when doing a brake repair. They adjusted the tightness of the brake and I left. Not one week later the adjuster broke again. My husband called the shop and they told him he should bring the car to the dealer for repair. After I brought the car to be checked elsewhere they advised that the tension spring on the adjuster was never installed. Not only that but the adjuster had entirely snapped again. All of my efforts to contact Mavis have gone unanswered and I am left with little but no choice but to take my issue to social media in an attempt to get resolution. The work done was shoddy and downright dangerous and should never happen. read more

I came here for what i thought was a routine car inspection. They told me my car would fail inspection unless i spent over $300 on 2 new tires. I said no so they removed my sticker and failed my car. Immediately after, I went to a pep boys. They mentioned my brakes were low (which mavis never said anything about) and that was a bigger priority than the tires but everything was good enough to pass inspection. Do not go to this Mavis. This was the only garage anywhere nearby open on Sunday. We had a car emergency right before leaving for a road trip and brought the car in soon after they opened. The staff were professional and honest and shared frequent updates throughout the day. They figured out that we needed to replace the serpentine belt and were able to get one delivered from an auto parts store and finish the repair before closing. We couldn't exactly argue over the bill, but when we did some research after, they really didn't charge us much over the cost of the parts and a very fair labor fee. This was a month ago and the car has been running great ever since. Solid honest service that completely saved us on a Sunday. read more

I got brand new tires about a year ago. 4 Goodyears that have worked perfectly. There is only one downside to the place. After getting the tires done one by one my TPMS sensors broke literally a 3-4 days apart. I would be in the middle of driving somewhere and the tire would quickly go flat. I don't know if it is faulty tire placement or because of the car. I checked nissan forums to see if it was a problem with the make and model but didn't come up with any results. Now the light is stuck because I couldn't afford to replace them. I had them rubberized. The people that work there are great at what they do. Nice as anything and very helpful. I've sent a few people there way and will continue to. They are also my go to place for when my brakes need fixing. read more

We took our vehicle in to this location to get our tires balanced and to get our tire valves replaced. When we left and drove the vehicle over the weekend our steering wheel was still shaking. They told us that we needed brakes, so we took it back in to have the brake work done and was told it would be about $580.00 with the tax. It was dropped off at 8am and I called at 3:15pm and was told that one set was done and it was only a 1 hour job to complete the front and back brakes. The girl that was on the phone was annoying as hell with her "my dear" and "my love" every time she spit out a sentence. They contradict with they say from the time frame of how long the work would take to what work was done up to the points that I kept checking on it. They then said we also needed to have our calipers changed and before we knew it the cost had jacked up to $980.00. The work was not done by the time they said and we ended up taking our vehicle to a professional location and had to pay an additional $180.00 to get the tires re-balanced. We do have after market 22" rims and if this was something that they couldn't handle, they should have said that from the beginning. Do yourself a favor and take your vehicle somewhere else for the work you need! read more

I have been to this Mavis location several times before for tires and never had a problem. I always expect them to find something additional that I need so I was expecting that. I had scheduled an oil change and an alignment if, it was needed. Needless to say they kept on finding additional things wrong. I know I needed at least 2 news tires so I agreed to replace them all. After 3 and a half hours of sitting in their cold waiting area, they said my car was done. As my bill was being rung up I said, "I guess the car did not need the alignment, since it wasn't done" -- You can see the alignment bay behind the counter and my car never entered it. The man at the desk paused and said that my car was, in fact, not ready and they drove it around the building into the alignment area. They guy who drove my car around the building whispered something to the cashier as he came back through the building, which made me feel uneasy. But had I not been there to witness it, they would have charged me for the alignment and not done it. Oops. Finally my car is ready again. I am now very late for an appointment and rush out, but I still notice a big fresh scrape of white paint on the side of the car's back door. I pause and realize I need to bring it to their attention, but I need to run to my appointment. So I drive away without saying anything but plan to come right back (big mistake). Upon my return I ask the cashier to come out an look at the scrape, who, when he sees me, is no longer Mr. Friendly, He comes out, takes the briefest glance at it, and then takes me inside and takes some additional information. He tells me they will check the cameras and get back to me. Hours later I get a call from the manager who says the camera showed that there was no scrape when I drove away. There absolutely was, so either he is lying or the camera is at a bad angle. He implies that I am lying, which means that I would have had a 90 minutes to go out scrape my car with white paint that matches the trim paint on their garage doors, and rushed back to blame them. He never mentions any other cameras that might have shown the car too close the walls while in their care. No, they immediately blamed the customer. We decided that I could review that video with a manager and they would call to set that up. No call. So very disappointed and angry. Waiting for a return call from customer service. read more

Brought my Jeep in for tires and an oil change. Both were done as expected. However, the vehicle left the shop with two problems that did not exist when it went in. The first is that the dual zone a/c now only blows cold on one side. The second is that there is now a loose clunk under the front end when I drive over rough roads. The first problem is unrelated to any work I had asked for, oddly. The second is most likely due to the rack and pinion yoke becoming mis-adjusted during the service. I would not accuse this shop of any mal-intent based on this information, but it is enough that I would recommend seeking an alternate Mavis location for your work. read more

Stay away! Had a completely flat tire and drove to Mavis down the block from where I was. They closed at 6pm and I got there at 5:43pm ..I asked the guy if he could please fix my tire which again was completely flat to the rim and he told me he could not ,implying that he was too busy. I do not live anywhere near this area and now was completely stranded .No common decency or compassion for their customers. It would have took the guy five minutes to fix my tire . The tires on my SUV needed replacing and Mavis had the best price so I made an reservation on line for 6:30 on Thursday. This was the only evening they are open late (until 8:30) and wanted to make sure I wouldn't have to wait around for them to squeeze me in. I received an email later that day confirming the appointment. I left work early that day and arrived at 6:10. I was told to give them 2 hours to complete the job. My wife picked me up and went home. When I returned at 8:10 I was surprised to see my car still where I had parked it with my old tires still on. I went in to talk to the manager and he seemed surprised that no one had started working on the car and would get some started right away. I commented that I was surprised that I had a reservation and that they had the car 2 hours already, how were they going to get the car done in the 20 remaining minutes that they were open? I was told that they would put 2 people on the car, but it would take longer, but they would get it done. Car was finally done a little after 9, 3 hours after the car was brought in, with the actual work taking less than an hour. No apology or even a minimal discount was offered. Additionally, I had to remind the manager to give me the forms necessary for a rebate on the tires. Overall, not an experience I enjoyed. Saving a few dollars but wasting a lot of time is not a good trade off in my opinion. read more

So I brought my car in to get the front driver side tire replaced. I was told my the manager (Avila) that the rear passenger side also needed to be replaced as it was worn down. I said ok go ahead and replace it. Was told it would take an hour/ hour and a half to fix which wasn't a problem. 5 hours later I see the workers joking around, going outside to get ice cream meanwhile I'm still waiting for my car. When I got my car back I noticed that the tire light was still on, I brought it to their attention and they brushed me off. Next morning I'm getting ready to go on a trip and I noticed I had a flat tire on the rear driver side. I also realized that was a new tire which confused me cause I wasn't supposed to get a new tire there. I looked at the bill and realized they put THREE tires on my car instead of TWO and they charged me for it. I called immediately and told them they gave me an extra tire that I did not authorize and that tire also had a flat. They also changed the lug nuts on that wheel without telling me and the lug nuts did not fit my car jack. I then had to pay for someone to come out and change the tire since I couldn't get it off myself. I brought the car back and they claimed they fixed the problem, when I brought up the third tire that they put on my car they told me there was nothing they could do about it. They put a brand new tire on my car without my permission then charged me and basically said oh well. There was never anything wrong with my tire or that wheel and they refused to refund me or do anything for me. I go home and the next morning I get up to go to work only to come outside and see I have a flat tire yet again from the same tire. I had to bring the car back to their shop, at no point did they ever apologize or even seem to care that they not only over charged me, but did a crappy job on my car in which I have had to come back numerous times for them to fix it properly. They get done fixing the car and had the audacity to say "we aren't going to charge you for it." I also overheard a woman complain that they did something to her car without telling her, so this seems to be a common thing with them on doing work to peoples car without telling them then charging them for it. Their customer service is horrible and the manager has a nasty attitude. It's a shame cause I have gone to them in the past and the old manager was great and I never had a problem with them before. Avoid going here, they don't do a good job and they will look to just make money off of you by doing things to your car that you didn't ask. read more

Very nice crew of guys, but they mislead you to get you into the shop by saying it's not too long a wait. I was told there were only 2 cars ahead of me with minor work being done. I left with no work done to my car after waiting for an hour. Plus at least one car that came in after me went ahead of me. that's when I left. I don't know about everybody else, but i don't have time to sit and wait anywhere for an hour+ before getting taken care of. Done with Mavis I think. read more

I have been coming here for a few years because my old job was nearby and I could drop off my car while I was at work. The people are polite as anyone in customer service should be. Unfortunately I had ordered a tire and they were supposed to call me when it came in, I called twice and each te I was told different availability on this tire. Went to get the tire changed and waited 2 hours and when they were going to change it they discovered they ordered the wrong size tire. To there credit they did discover the wheel was bent. Had my pregnant girlfriend go there once they had supposedly received the correct tire and she waited another 2 hours for once again the wrong tire was ordered. That's 2 trips and 4 hours and no work done because of there incompetence. The guys at Mavis told my girlfriend it was my fault they ordered the wrong tire, what a lack of responsibility for incompetence. Had them replace 2 rear tires in June that have a 50k warranty and in less than 25k miles both tires are bald and the are the ones who did the alignment. Now I have to wait here for another 2 hours just to know if they are going to rectify this problem. I will never recommend this place and if they don't make good on these tires I will be contacting Mavis corporate as well as my attorney. read more

If it was possible to give negative stars I would. This had to be the worse experience of my life. First, I had a leak in my tire. I was told they will check it out and if it could be fixed they would fix it. If not they will have to replace it. I presented them my warranty papers( I guess they don't like that) I had to call them to see if my car was ready. I was told my car was ok and I can go. The warranty company was never contacted because the fax machine didn't work. I take my car, check the pressure the tire was at the correct pressure. I finished work and the pressure was extremely low again. By this time they are closed so I go the next morning. I explained the situation and they told me to leave it and they will check it out. I was told by another guy my 2 back tires are bad and need to be replaced. They didn't have the tires that I already had on my car so I told him to replace the one with the leak. I get my car back and they replaced the back tire and just rotated the tire with the leak to the front. So now I pay over 200 dollars and I still had a tire with a leak. That is extremely dangerous. How can you treat a paying customer that way. I had to put air in that tire twice a day until I was able to get it fixed. I was already completely disgusted with their customer service. I despise driving past that place. If I were you find another Mavis or another shop. read more

brake light came on my 2013 Ford F150 and the brakes were not woring propoertly. I go off the exit at Mamaroneck Ave and went to the closest repair shop. Not being from the area I thought I was definitely going to get ripped off. Just the opposite happened. I was met by the service manager Uriel who greeted me with a smile and suggested that he have a technician look at the problem. Within 30 minutes the evalutation was completed and the problem as determined. The broker booster was not working properly but rather than repair it and charge me he suggested I take it to the local dealer and have it repaired under warranty. I found all the staff to be friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I felt so guilty that I wanted to buy some tires but he told me my tires were fine. I will definitely make my next purchase of tires at Mavis. read more

These people don't know what they are doing. I have stock rims on my tires the rims that are supposed to go in the back they were put in the front. This is not a professional place to balance your tires. Also the manager Javier Selgado don't know how to manage this store and does not pay attention to what his employees are doing. read more
