I'm a customer who recently took my car in for repair. The Coram location is the location I bring my car in for service however due to COVID related issues they were closed. I was hearing a noise that I took my car in to be checked for. Upon being diagnosed that my car needed rear brakes and rotors (which I was previously told I didn't need them by the Coram Mavis) I consented to the repair, however $360 later when I picked my car up and drove off the noise returned. I'm extremely frustrated and disappointed because I was previously told I didn't need brakes which leads me to believe that this location is charging customers for unnecessary repairs. I did return to this location on the same day to have the same issue addressed, however during the test drive with the manager he stated he heard nothing and to return when I heard the noise. This is a problem because I paid for brakes and rotors to be replaced and it didn't resolve the problem noise. The replacement should have not been done if it was not an accurate diagnosis read more

Let's put it this way: We have poor service from day one. Had to bring back a car because oil was leaking AFTER a repair. For some reason, the receptionist came out to look at the car and started checking the oil. The manager stood there and said nothing! Another time my husband dropped off his car for minor repairs but they didn't do them because they couldn't get the car started to move it into the garage. They called my husband who was able to get it started right away. None of the "mechanics" there knew to STEP ON THE BREAK to be able to engage the ignition. These were not the only bad experiences, and we finally learned our lesson that this place is useless. read more

When explaining my tire problems had 10 excuse on why it my cars problem and not the tires lol then needed a tire plugged they wanted me to leave it all day....for a plug! Then says come first thing n the morning...morning comes there's 10 people waiting and he says they are always slow on Sundays and will take all day to get to everyone. This has been the absolute worst experience I have ever had with any car place. This is a long story but here goes: about three weeks ago, I had a low tire and I brought it there. I don't know what they did but it took them all day to do it and about a week later, the tire was losing air again. My husband put air in it and it was okay for a few days until the tire went down to about 12. I brought the car back to Mavis which turned out to be a big mistake. I explained that I had just been there two weeks ago for tire repair and the same exact tire was going flat. They talked me into getting an oil change too since I was leaving the car. I figured why not but apparently they ended up just focusing on the oil change because when I came back hours later to pick up the car, I asked what was wrong with the tire. The guy checks and is like I don't know, there's no notes. I'll go ask the mechanic. He comes back and tells me all the mechanic did was put more air in it and didn't even look for a nail or anything! So he would give me a break on the oil change. He did at least do that (hence the one star) but then proceeded to tell me I could stay and the mechanic could look at it now. Really? After you had it all day and I have stuff to do like work! He told me I should be okay until the next day and to come back if I had any problems. No joke, an hour later I get in the car and the tire is going flat again. I bring it immediately back to the place cancelling an appointment I had in the meantime. I wait about an hour and a half for them to even look at the tire again. They tell me the tire is damaged beyond repair after they let me drive it home earlier! I have to get a new tire so of course they don't have my tire in stock, they have to order it and they tell me it will be there the next day. I leave the car and the next day I call back and ask what's going on with the tire. They put me on hold while they rummage through the shipment of tires and then tell me that mine didn't come in. It will come in the next day. So I then have to call my night job and tell them I can't come in. The next day I call back Mavis and they again rummage through their shipment of tires, putting me on hold several times. This time I get a different guy, very nice and says he read the notes and saw what I have been through. He will put the new tire on right now. Great! So I go to get my car and he proceeds to tell me that here's the thing, they got the wrong sized tire and have to wait for a new one to come in. He patched up my tire and I should be good to go for a week. So I say, they told me it was unsafe to drive the car on that tire, it's damaged. He tells me oh they always say that, it will be fine. I'll call you in a couple of days when the tire comes in. So literally, two days later, the tire is back to losing air and I've had it. This is a tire place and they can't even fix a tire!! Everyone I have dealt with there in the last two weeks is beyond incompetent. I decided they can take their tire and shove it because I'm going to City Tire now to get a new one. Awesome atmosphere . I had the pleasure of dealing with Anthony at this location. He was honest and straight forward. He was courteous and kind. Made nit only me but I notice all the customers comfortable. I also notice the majority of customers were repeats. I found my new location fir auto jobs an especially tires. The mechanics and staff at the selden location are the best you will ever find. They are honest and always helpful. I bought my jeep in thought the rearend was going but no the tire place that previously fixed the tire on it didn't tighten the lug nuts all the way. My honda had a weird nose it was my wheel bearing n they noticed my pads were so low n fixed it before I needed rotors. Plus their tires are the best around. Always happy leaving. I always recommend them. Hard to find. Sometimes there is a wait but always better to wait for the best! read more

If i could give 0 stars I would. My brother dropped his car off at 9 am this morning with an appointment. He was told that his car would be ready in a couple of hours. Low and behold at 330 when he called they told him we aren't done we have two tire on. When we went in person at 4 no tires had been placed on the car! They started an oil change and then told us the car was done. There was no oil in the car! Then the manager had no idea how to run the Mavis credit card. Jason was unbelievably rude and unprofessional. I know for a fact that my family was not the only unhappy costumer in the building at the time. We have used Mavis countless times but this is the last time we will be using them. And our Mavis credit card will be cancelled since obviously they can't honor it. read more

Ive had plenty of word done on my vehicles in the past at this location and other ones and never an issue at this location until today..I called in on Friday and made an appointment for an oil change on my 2015 Jeep Patriot for today @8am and upon arriving the assistant managers eyes were pins, was asking me about if I received a code via email for my appointment I told him I did not and I checked the spam and other folders daily an nothing was there he was like well maybe you should check it again and I'm like its not there dude I know what's in my email and what's not he's like ok what's the phone number I gave him the phone number and it pulled up an account for my uncles car and he's like oh well I need to update this info and I'm like dude no you don't because its family he's like ok well let me check the plate number and I'm like ok NYCJON he's like ok its for the 09 Tiguan and I'm like yea he's like ok let me update this this since you have a new vehicle I walked out of there because he was clearly all over the place like he could have updated it after he checked me in and checked the couple behind me in he clearly doe not know what he is doing and he really pissed me off my lecturing me about how call in for an appointment and not get the call center and than all the other crap he did..I now it makes sense why the reviews for this locations went down down the shitter...I guess companies are just hiring anyone these days I mean if Selden wasn't skelly enough last year whoooo this years its definitely worse Im happy I now live in Denver, CO now.. Made appointment for an oil change and inspection. Upon arrival (hours after opening) was told that the inspector was not there that day. There was no phone call to communicate this ahead of time and offer a solution. They sent me to another location where I had to wait three hours for only an inspection. Spent an entire day to only get half of what I needed done Will never use this company again. They do not properly manage their locations and communication with customers is poor. read more

I came here for a car inspection at 8 AM. My car was recent with very little mileage on it. He could not find anything wrong, but he said 3 of my 5 light bulbs were out on the rear windshield. I would not pass inspection without them. I was charged $17.00 per light bulb and had a 3 hour wait. Ridiculous and outrageous, would never go there again. read more

I've never had a worse or more unprofessional experience getting my oil changed and tires rotated. I made an appointment for 10:30 on a Saturday and they told us a 2 hours, and if it's later they'll give us a call. Three hours later, no phone call so I call to check to see what's going on. They tell me they'll call me back to let me know how long it'll be. Another hour passed, no phone call so I head over there. They say the car is up next to be fixed. At this point it's 3pm and I need the car so I drop it back off at 5 and they tell me they'll keep it overnight and it'll be the first one done when they open at 9am and they'll call me when they're done. I went over at 11:30 since they never called me and it hadn't even been worked on yet. They say they'll start working on it now and it should be an hour and a half and again they'll call me when it's done. It's now past 1pm and I haven't gotten a phone call. Overall, this is the worst service I've ever experienced. It's taken over 24 hours for a simple oil change and tire rotation. I don't understand what sort of system they have to determine what cars to work on first but I was told multiple times that my car would be worked on next and that I'd get a call when it was done and it didn't happen. read more

Great Service...been going Mavis for years..never a problem mechanically and they test drive the car.

I needed a Goodyear tire but while comparison shopping mavis had it a few dollars cheaper so I contacted them. The guy quoted me an even lower price than what I was quoted online so I scheduled everything. Next day I got there early spoke to them told me 1 ahead of me. After the one came another car came that they quickly took to the back. After awhile I realized they took another car ahead of me. I inquired and he asked me which car did I think slipped me. I told him hen he made an excuse saying they were there yesterday. I drove 50 miles to get to that appointment asked for my keys and left. Drove to Goodyear Selden got a tire quote for cheaper scheduled it there. Never again. They cater to their friends regardless of your appointment. They were taking for a while till the phone rang and still had me sitting there. read more

Sad to say this was not a good experience at all. Had an appointment and when I entered I was told I did not, because I spoke to a 'call center' rather than the store itself (Call Center number is what is listed for this store). I needed a tire replaced, (LIE potholes), so i said i would wait. interesting to observe the actions of Joe the "Manager". One young man was told he needed 4 tires to the tune of $1,000. When he said he would think about it, Joe said don't buy anywhere else until you talk to me and we will "work something out". Why not just give him a fair deal to begin with. My wait ended up being 1 1/2 hours as a co-worker of Joe's wife came in without an appointment and he said "I'll take care of you". I should not have been surprised she was in and out before my car went in. To end this saga, when it came time to pay, Joe said "$175" to which i replied, i was told $135 'all in' and he said that was the call center price, not the price - can you say Bait & Switch? One suggestion: get rid of the call center if they cannot make appointments or quote prices. As i drove off, i noticed the tire pressure reading was 40 - recommended for my vehicle 32-34. read more

I took my car to the selden mavis location because my car was making a noise. I was told by their technician that I needed to replace the hub bearings Immediately because I was planning on traveling a far distance the next day and I would not make it that far, that it was NOT SAFE. Almost $1,000 later I am still hearing a noise and there's actually a NEW noise that I hear as well! I spoke to Elizabeth the district manager for the SELDEN location, explaining to her the situation and that I brought my car to HONDA and HONDA told me I was over charged and I requested a refund from her because my car is not fixed and the repair was not done correctly! Liz was very unprofessional and lacked empathy towards me and my situation. She told me that she called 2 honda locations herself and that one of them said I was there! which was a blatant LIE because how did she even know which honda location I went to?? She also said its my tires that need to be fixed. HOW COULD SHE POSSIBLY KNOW THIS.??????? LIZ's exact words were "YOU ARE NOT GETTING YOUR MONEY BACK". Instead of her providing excellent customer service and showing compassion to me as a customer she was rude and acted as if she did not care. My car is still not fixed. I'm not understanding how someone so unprofessional can be the district manager of ANY STORE! I will never take my car to mavis again!!!! especially not selden. If she was not willing to address the issue then she shouldve helped to come up with a resolution instead of telling me that I am not getting a refund!!!!!!!! read more

Brought my trucks in past never had problems for few years, , we'll first I called no one even answers the place is dead. I just needed a quick tire swap the old tire I personally took off my truck (20inch rim) went in the man at desk starts to write up the service I need comes out to grab the old wheel and the new tire I had in the back of a truck to drop off and literally just swap them like they have done plenty of times he says oh idk if those wheels are going to fit on my machine I said I've had this same exact rim and tire put on from this same Mavis and then he says there's only a new guy in the back working he doesn't want him to scuff up my wheel I said it's fine man it's already curb rashes, I just need my tire by tonight for work and he says yeah sorry I can't do it and just refused and told me to go to fire stone or a different Mavis and that's what I had to do the Mavis the town over even said it's bs read more

I have to say this. Chris at STS Tire in Selden took really good care of me. I have a 2014 Lincoln MKZ that failed inspection due to a bubble in the tire. I called Michelin and they said that I needed to take the car to one of their dealers. I went to STS in Selden on a Saturday and worked with them and Michelin and was able to get 35% off of the replacement tire. They needed to order the tire in. I came in the following Tuesday as their first customer in the morning on my way to work. They brought the car in right away and changed the tire and completed the inspection. They stuck to their word on the price of the tire and got me out of there quickly. Thank you Chris for the great customer service you provided. read more

Went because I had a leak, was told the leak was fixed with $300 price tag. Got home and was still leaking, tried to go back but was closed. That was Sunday, went back Monday and was told the mechanic had just left come back tomorrow, went back Tuesday and was told they were too busy. (Thus whole time I am dumping gallons of antifreeze into my car and it's still overheating) went back on wed an hour after they open was told "got two big problems here and one mechanic, this guys car is gonna blow up, its gonna be hours" I say I'll wait with my car because it's been 3 days with it overheating and leaking antifreeze. The guys shakes his head and just keeps staring at me. Then I catch him trying to take a picture of me. Prob to send to the rest of the crew. When i called the customer service they make the guy call me back and he basically said " sorry we didnt fix your car, we still did the work so we aren't giving you a refund, glad you got it fixed somewhere else have a good one." NEVER GO THERE!! I WOULD GIVE NO STARS IF I COULD THEY SUCK!! read more

For a simple oil change I had the worst experience! Made an appt online for a specific time even got a call back confirming... Dropped my car off early even... Came back 1 hour and 1/2 after the scheduled appt time so 3 hours after dropped off and it was not serviced yet. I would have been ok with this except the guy at the front gave me the nastiest attitude about it. First asked if it was for inspection, WAS NOT! Then in the middle of talking to me another customer came in and he put his finger up to my face and said wait as he spoke with the other customer. Then told me to take my car or wait its up to me but its not done. I stayed because it was 330 in the afternoon at this point and I had no other open time to get this done. Then left and came back another 1 hour and half later and saw my car was moved went in he claimed it was done paid and went out. Starting my car right away I realized my service light was still on but instead of going in and arguing I let it be as I knew my boyfriend knew how to reset it. Then driving to meet my boyfriend for dinner I realized my car was not driving right. So when I arrived at the restaurant I had him check it where we learned that they barley topped off my oil if anything because we didn't check before to see where it was at and they never changed the filter. Also for some reason the balance on my tires was off so I have no idea if they decided to rotate my tires or what as they never mentioned it to me but I was outraged. Being that it was after 5pm all Mavis/STS stores were closed so there was no way to fix it that day but we did go to Walmart and buy the oil and filter and after dinner my boyfriend just changed it for me as we were not sure what was done. The next day we went to a local shop by us who the only reason we did not use in the first place is we were running errands on middle country road all day and were trying to be efficient with our time. The local shop confirmed that the tires were off balance and alignment was off and fixed them for me. We did not call up and complain or even try to get our money back because the attitude of the person was so ridiculous the first time around neither of us felt a need to deal with that on our Sunday for $41 BUT I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AND ADVISE NO ONE ELSE TOO!!!!!... So many people trust these stations to take care of the service the pay for and don't feel a need to check and only because my boyfriend was a mechanic in the past was I lucky enough to have this double checked. I've been going to this location for years and the previous front desk greeted who i thought was the manager was great! He was great at time management and you always got serviced within minutes of your appointment. I came in recently for an inspection on a new car and they said I couldn't do it untill I had the plates which was fine I didn't know. I received the plates I call ahead to schedule an appointment and they said it's about a 2 hour wait come in for 2pm. I show up a few minutes early and wait 40 minutes when i was about to tell them to forget it they announce to me and the other people waiting for inspections say they couldn't do any inspections because they didn't have any stickers. Another woman was asking when they'd have them in and they said they only had 2020 stickers for the new year and it sounded like they weren't getting any in. Pissed off I drive to another place that took me as a walk in and started my inspection in about 10 minutes. I don't understand how you continuously write in for people to come in and then make them wait 45 minutes to tell them you can't do anything for them. If I didn't have to rearrange appointments and meet with customers to just get screwed then I wouldn't be as annoyed. read more

The manager even went out of his way to help with me with the the rebate from Bosch for the brake linings, where I saved $30.00. They did a good job on my car for a fair price. I own 3 cars and have a large family and we all live in the area; I am recommending this place to all of them for future work. read more

I am handicapped and as soon as I got out of my jeep a mechanic yelled from the shop "Move your F&@king car!" I didn't even go into the building! Rude! Never trust them. Here is what they did to my husband car. He gave them a working car with engine lights shows up. Sincere it was our service car for our children, he does not want to risk our children. They gave him the car after paying huge money for service but after 5 minutes drive, it does not work. He gave them back in the same day and they gave him the next day telling him it is fixed. But again the same issue, it runs for five minutes and the stop accelerating. He just opened the hoods, and he said that weird things happened. It does not look like our car at all. Our car ran like new with 30+ per gallon. He said to me that they changed our car engine. Worst of our service in our life. We were forced to buy a new car with out our plan! never trust them . read more

I was quoted a price on the phone to have my brakes replaced and when I got there they already had my car on the lift and when they took my brakes off and rotors they raised the price dramatically. I supplied the brakes n rotors by the way. Never again read more
