Originally I went to the shop with my own new tires and rims. They installed it and 1.5 weeks later my tire sensor on all 4 tires failed. Safety concern on my part because I drive and have a baby. Need to know air pressure on all my tires. So i went back and they charged me $217.17 for four new sensors and it still doesn't work. They ripped me off and not to mention they told me to get a new car(george). I have a 2017 ford fusion and not only that they dis something to my interior lighting where i have to manually turn on and off the lights. wth. read more

Anthony at front desk helped yesterday when I went to get tires fixed. he didn't have my tire at the moment but he troubled to call the other location near my home and ordered mine and arranged it with the manager and wrote down all details and have me advices on how to drive with spare tire and ect. After looking at the yelp reviews I still gave this location a chance since it's close to home. My regret...meanwhile staff demeanor is as though they're very stoic, no politeness, like they don't take pleasure being here. (What ever ) was the first one in line at 7:30 AM (they opened at 8 AM). They service others first (ok. No problem) they finally do my wheel alignment in 10 minutes (great) I got on the highway (i87)and major vibration and the car is pulling very hard to the left on the major deegan highway. I shoot a video (as evidence) and exit off and bring it back. Little improvement. Just exhausted going to bring the car to another mavis and bring my receipt to see if they could do a better job. My daughter scheduled an appt for today at 3:00 and when she got their they had the nerve to tell her they don't believe in appointments and told her she can wait till 5:00 pm if she wanted her car serviced. why have the option to schedule an appointment online to then tell a customer you don't go by appointment. The wait time here is beyond unprofessional. I made a 12:00PM appt for one of my new tires and they didn't even bother to ask me until 2 hours later for the wheel lock. AND I was the one that had to ask the manager for an update bc I've been waiting for 2 hours.... I have NO IDEA what they were doing with my car for 2 hours if they couldn't take the tire off while it was in the back. I do NOT recommend this place at all. The cost is good - however, Customer Service is extraordinary poor. I don't mean "bad" - I mean horrific. Witnessed a customer simply asking how long before his car would be ready, and the customer service guy CURSED HIM OUT. Wow! Mavis allows this? Holy crap. Really laced into the guy for no reason. That was at 9:15 am today. It got worse as the morning went on. They are obviously very short staffed for a Sunday. 2 mechanics for more than 12 cars. And don't believe the timeline either. They tell you 45 minutes, then it becomes 1.5 hours, then 3 hours. Why not just be honest and tell the customer that it will be 3 hours? Let the customer decide to come back another day - or not. Do not use this place! I asked for an oil change. Charged me $100 for synthetic oil, plus they never put the cap back on (I discovered later) and screwed the drain cap on so tight they stripped the thread. Car was revving fast when I picked it up. Cost me $300 to have it repaired at Honda. Mavis refused to acknowledge it was their error despite photos to prove it. Refused any reimbursement. Awful! read more

The pictures below are "new" set of tires. I purchased these "new" tires in July. I know exactly when I purchased them because I needed new tires for my annual New York State Inspection. In August, I took my car to the Toyota Dealership for recall. During this recall they typically will perform a full body inspection on the car. Upon finishing the inspection, the dealership told me that I would need new tires soon because the tread is halfway gone. I, assumed, the dealership was just trying to get more money out of me and brushed it off. In December, I noticed a nail in my tire and that's when I noticed the back tires had almost NO tread. I called Mavis and the person on the phone told me, "Cab drivers usually change their tires every 3 months". I'm not a cab driver and it still doesn't explain how the tread was half gone a month after the tires were brought. Furthermore, I have been home for months due to COVID, so a month after the tires were purchased 99 percent of the time my car was parked and I only moved it to run to the store. Paid about $100+ for an alignment, they wouldn't give me a reservation only first come first serve in march. They didnt even touch the car they said they put it on a lift in the far corner where i couldn't see. The car drove the same terrible and since its not my daily i ran out of the warranty time to get it redone. I went to yonkers wheel and tire depot and they toom care of me for cheaper and the car performs way better. I wouldnt recommend mavis for anything but possibly a bj and thats a huge if. 2 thumbs down. Went in yesterday morning because front passenger side brakes were making a grinding noise. Got upsold by salesman and quoted nearly $1300 for three calipers, two rotors and brake pads, power steering flush, and brake fluid flush. I had just gotten all new brake pads and rotors, and all new power steering components including pump, hoses, reservoir tank, and flush about six months ago. I paid an independent mechanic $80 for labor to replace all pads and rotors and $90 for parts totaling $170. Salesman was recommending a power steering flush even though I had the whole system flushed and all system components changed six months ago. That is not scheduled maintenance. Was told the power steering flush and brake fluid flush would be free but I was charged for them. Asked if the power steering fluid is genuine Honda fluid and was told it is genuine. They had a bottle of after market power steering fluid on the counter when I arrived to pick up vehicle. Received a call 2 hours later telling me vehicle is ready to be picked up. Nearly $1300 for a 2 hour service is a lot of money. Ended up showing a brake coupon and paying $1201.90. Also was told the newly installed brake parts are made by Wagner and are OEM parts. Wagner auto parts appear to be aftermarket and require significantly more pressure on the pedal to stop the vehicle. Finally, the brakes perform horribly with even worse stopping power than before. read more

Although they were about to close for the day, the work was done quickly and competently. No pressure to sell me anything other than what I needed, and I would certainly return to this Mavis tire store for tires and other services which I might require in the future. read more

If I could give zero stars I definitely would. I saw other reviews before I decided to go here and they mentioned to not come here. So I would like to also let you all know NOT TO GO HERE. I honestly blame myself. I try not to judge people / businesses off of other peoples experience / opinions but I definitely should have listened to these reviews. I dropped off my car on Saturday May 1st @ 9:30 am to get tires and brakes. The day is going by and around 3:30 I decide to call to get an update. they let me know that my car is up on the machine and that they are looking at it ( mind you they close at 5) Around 5 I call and no one is answering. in my head im thinking no way they closed for the day and kept my car without my permission. when I dropped my car off I told them specifically I could only leave it for today. I take an uber there and they are closed. I call the Mavis 1-800 number and spoke to someone. I was told someone would get back to me ( it is now Wednesday May 5th and I still have not heard back from anyone ) long story short my car ended up never getting fixed. I call the next day ( May 2nd ) around 12 and they let me know they have been trying to contact me because they could not get the tires off because the lug nuts were swollen. They did not call me at all. When I went to pick up my car I showed the man at the front desk my call log ( all the calls were outgoing - me calling them ) All he had to say was he was sorry and he wasn't the one who was trying to call. So they had my car for a day and a half and did not call me at all to give any updates. mind you I ended up having to take multiple Ubers. As I had work that night ( May 1 ) an I also had work at my second job the next morning ( may 2 ). Lastly I didn't realize until I got to another shop to get my car fixed that lug nuts were missing. I wish I would have remembered to take pictures but I was in a rush to get my car fixed and make it to work that same night. the mechanic at the new place I went to let me know they should have never let me leave with my car like that and that it was very dangerous for me to be driving with just 1-3 lug nuts per tire. So please do not go here. they are very nonchalant and act as if the nonsense that goes on here is ok. It's just all around terrible. Always an incredibly long wait time. They never want to explain things or help. It's almost like they're trained to dodge the customers and just keep us waiting. I can't recommend the Yonkers location. We had an appointment to get 4 new tires at 10 am. We arrived a few minutes early and were told the store was busy, there were 4 cars ahead of us, and we'd probably wait an hour, maybe an hour and a half. It took 5 hours and 40 minutes! Place is alright just like "discount store" they are there to up sell you as much as possible. I don't mind the alignment request from my new set of tires since I know it was needed for my car. But the lack of transparency, lack of communication and lack of helpfulness really has me questioning the work done on my vehicle. My alignment did not come with a print out, tires rebate wasn't honored, and to cap it off I was told by the employees to call the corporate number. Just seems fishy from the employees not being able to assure me my alignment was done, rebate for tires were not included BEFORE THE WORK WAS STARTED, and overall the attitude to just refer me to the corporate number and "complain". Very unprofessional staff pretty mind boggling. Driver almost ran over two pedestrians absolutely no remorse driving on wrong side of street. No regard for road rules, did not even stop to apologize. This place needs new management and staff to be less cocky and disgusting. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my review. A call was made the day of to try and rectify this situation and the genius manager that day handed the phone to your reckless driver. Said driver was very nonchalant and not a care was given that he almost ran two people over. Stated that a partition was blocking his view, it was 7:50am bright and shining absolutely no partition where this person was driving to make the turn to the back of the establishment. I needed to have my tires replaced and that's what they did. the guys there worked with some discounts so I would get the best price possible and the price was fair.They recommended I get an alignment and I knew I needed one. I had no appointment and they took me. It happened to be their late day (Thursday, I believe). I thought they did a great job and I'll go back for any tire needs. Came in for 4 new tires and inspection. Now my bill is up to over $900 . I have been told my front rotors need to be replaced. Are they in bad shape ? I honestly don't know. I am not a mechanic. Don't really see the point of taking car somewhere else because whatever they tell me, I still wont know if its right or wrong. Update # 1: Have now been here for 2 hrs and they cant give me an estimate as to how much longer. Considering this is their daily job, shouldn't they know? CROOKS! My dad needs new tires, so I went online to the Mavis website and they have a special, buy 3 get 1 free for the tires. I added the wheel balancing for the extra $49 and the online bill was $429 with taxes, installed. I printed out the online order and sent my dad to them. They charged him an EXTRA $150+ for an alignment, which was a TOTAL RIPOFF! NEVER AGAIN! We are contacting the Better Business Bureau and the credit company tomorrow to file a complaint. I took my car into Mavis Discount Tires in Yonkers and had an appointment for 9am . The guy behind the desk that took my keys recommended tire rotation and alignment alone with new window wipers as well as the oil change. I said ok. The wait was long but i took it as it being a popular place because of good service. 3 hours later at the cost of $200 even. The car was ready. But the next day i realized they had not done the work. The blades on the windows were the same old blades. The tire wear was in the same place and had not been rotated, there was an engine light showing the wheel alignment was off, the oil change was questionable. Took the car back very unhappy. The man behind the desk checked the computer to see the result of my engine check and discovered it was not done. All the jobs had not been done. They recommended i bring the car back on another day to get the work done. I agreed and brought the car back. 2 hours later I checked to see how the service was going. The job had not been done, and my car wasn't even placed on the ramp. I instructed them not to bother putting my car on the ramp and asked for a refund. Whilst this was going on a worker placed my car on the ramp took off the flap and undid the cap to change the oil. I asked them to stop and replace the cap. I took the car and a few days later the oil had all ran out. I took the car to Wayne service center in NJ. They informed me the cap had not been replaced and the oil had run all over the place but they would clean it up I will never take my car to Mavis discount tires in Yonkers again, ever. The man behind the desk was servicing all the cars brought in by Men. I felt discriminated against because I was a women. The nerve of them to keep me waiting for an unacceptable amount of time and to actually charge me and not do the service. Thats fraud. They gave my money back but actually cost me more money because they touched my car. They should be paying the bill I payed to have the car cleaned up from the mess they caused. read more

One star is one star too many! Their mechanics are grossly incompetent. They installed a single new tire on my car but did not check the air pressure or put the valve stem cap back on. Before leaving, I checked the pressure on the new tire and found it under-inflated by 12 pounds! They didn't even bother to put the valve stem cap back on. The store sales practice seems suspect. I had called to make an appointment for an NYS inspection and new tires purchases. Paul has said the central ave location were performing inspection and has the entry level tires I was looking for. When I got there, the desk agent mentioned the machine for the inspection is down and had been broken for weeks. Additionally, the tires I was looking for is no longer available. She started to up sell me to Mavis branded tires with 100k tread life. My car is 10 years old. Don't need tires that will most likely outlast my car. She continue to go though the expensive selections of tires, even though I had mentioned I was only looking for tires with around 40k tread life. She then tried to get me to sign up for the Mavis credit card, which I had no interest. When I asked her about the manufacturer tire promos available, she mentioned that they were only available if I signed up for the credit card. Doubt that this is true. Hate going to these places. Always have wonder they are trying to sell you things that you do not need. Going to local tire shop where I feel they are more straight and honest with you. read more

They do good work, both the Yonkers store and the Riverdale store. We bought tires at the Central Ave store a few times and they fixed a tire for free when it got a nail in it. There was a little problem the last time we bought tires -- we asked for snow tires but they installed all-seasons -- but they more than made up for it when we discovered the mistake. I'm happy with my new snow tires and with the staff and the service. We're sticking with Mavis for tires, inspections, brakes, etc. read more

What an incredible team at the Yonkers Mavis location! Josh, Rich and Eric go above and beyond for their customers without adding any hidden fees or pushing for unnecessary work and expenses. As a single woman I am weary of being ripped off by mechanics and this was not the case at all. The complete opposite! First I was fortunate to first be attended by Josh on a busy 12/30 morning. I my situation with a coupon that I normally have delivered by my local Yonkers newspaper and he knew which one I was referring regarding the Brake service which was expiring. He honored the coupon! Due to my work schedule and the busy service I was able to drop off my car for the service estimate. Rich got back to me before the end of the day and to my surprise I did not need any brake work! I only needed an oil change was was a huge price difference compared to when I bring it to the Mercedes benz dealership! They also addressed my tire concerns, battery, and key fob battery issue which I totally thought I had to bring to the dealer. In fact, I thought I lost the key fob but Eric figured out that it was in the car and that was the key that needed a new battery. I was beyond Grateful that he took the extra time to help me find it and replaced the battery which I didn't even know could be done there. Josh manages the store efficiently and communicates updates and has excellent customer service. Rich takes the time to explain and educate on my concerns with the car battery and life. These guys made feel comfortable, kept my car safe so I could pick it up the next day and did not overcharge or add any additional fees. Yonkers Mavis is the place to go to! read more

Scarsdale...Go to the one in Scarsdale better service better work same prices. I came here to change my shocks and struts, a VERY pricey proposition but I knew that going in. There's a lot of negatives here so let's itemize: 1) The guy who took my car in told me it would take about four hours to finish. So I came in SEVEN hours later and the car STILL wasn't done. Had to wait another hour and a half in their drafty lobby for the car. 2) As soon as I pull out of the lot I hear this weird metallic clicking toward the back of my car, which was not there when I brought the car in. I called the next day and the manager said, albeit without looking at the car, that whatever the problem was I would have to fix it on my own dollar! I called Mavis' Home office in Elmsford and a nice lady was outraged that I was treated that way. She quickly set up an appointment at the Scarsdale branch to get the car checked out. 3) The coup de grace; they installed a defective part!!!! The Scarsdale folks installed a new part, free of charge. Bottom line, Mavis made good on their work which I greatly appreciate. But THIS branch should be avoided like the plague. Take my word for it and go to the Scarsdale branch. Don't let the zip code scare you: same prices for MUCH better work. read more

Needed to get 2 tires fixed. Made an appointment on their website and showed up about 30 min early. I expected to leave my car and have to get a cab home, but was told to not worry, the parts (valve replacement) would be there within 30 min and they would get right to work on my Jeep. Not 10 min later my car was in the garage and they were putting in work. Living in Yonkers they also recommended brake pads, so honestly I said just do it. I mean who really wants to do rotors as well. It wasn't expensive and they did the work quite quickly. My appointment time was 9am, my car was done just after 10am. Not a bad place place for rapid tire service. Plus the brake pads are guaranteed, so if it was just an add on scam, next time new pads will be free. read more
