Wow should I of read the reviews prior to trusting Mavis tire they screwed me over big time. This location and the internet Mavis website should get zero stars. I made an appointment for the a tire on the corporate website sat night for a Sunday appointment. My better judgment told me to call since it was a holiday weekend Sunday morning before I went and as I thought the tire wasn't there but I was assured that they would order it and have it in Tuesday I was pleased. Monday I decided to call again and confirm the tire was on order and would still be in Tuesday. Tuesday comes I call once at 11 am to see if the truck is in and was told it would be in soon and I asked will you def call and tell me when the tire is in and they said yes. Hopeful but doubtful I call again at 4pm this time another gentlemen answered and tell me they have three in stock I told them I'll be down in a 10 minutes and told it would be a two hour wait I told him I just need you to put it on the rim I'll install on the car myself. I show up and am told there's three in the computer and he's gonna check the stock room "he got me " but I still have to wait two hours. Two hours goes by I get a call and a hang up and walk in and ask if he just called me and I get told they don't have to tire try to sell me a different tire and I was pissed. Do not waste your time and money with this place. I called WHITEYS in Brooklyn an honest tire shop and was gonna drive out tomorrow to get the work done there they install in 10 mins basically nascar speed. MAVIS YONKERS AND MAVIS IN GENERAL IS THE-worst friggin tire place in the world. One good thing came out of this on the way back home I passed Wheels tire depot they sell the tire I need at 30 bucks less and have great reviews I'm gonna call them in the morning and if they don't have it in stock I'll go the WHITEYS WHO I KNOW IS HONEST FAST AND PROFESSIONAL. read more

After reading some negative reviews I wanted to go elsewhere but it is Sunday and no one else was open. So I decided to take my flat tire issue to Mavis. I replaced my flat with my spare and drove over. Granted there was a bit of a wait since I didn't make an appointment but once it was my turn it took only around 10-15 minutes. The guy who helped me said that there was nothing wrong with the tire itself and the valve had just been moved somehow. He quickly readjusted it and replaced my spare with the newly functional tire and didn't even charge me since he said there was nothing wrong! Needless to say I was extremely pleased with this experience and feel that this is an honest place to go if there is ever a need. My Fiancé went in at 3pm this Sunday, to get his wheels balanced, AFTER calling and speaking to an employee who stated they weren't busy. This process usually shouldn't take more than about 15 minutes. When he arrived he was told, "we close at 5pm, I can't have my guys work on another car, I have three in front of you." I guess in the matter of the 10 mins it took him to get there they suddenly got too busy to take anymore clients? Not to mention the employees were standing around talking and not even working on a car. If you're gonna stand around and do nothing & turn people away you should consider closing Sunday's since it appears everyone there was being LAZY today! read more

I'm glad i came here to replace two tires that were blown out by hitting a huge pothole close to this location. When I read reviews I was skeptical because there were many negative ones but my experience was very good so I wanted to leave this review. I have an expensive SUV with expensive tires and was a little nervous as I said but Rob took good care of me as did Jose. They had my car done in a few hours and charged me fairly. Great, GREAT customer service - the woman on the phone was polite and accommodating, as well as the store manager and employees inside. I needed a same-day oil change and was able to make a reservation and they were able to get me in quickly. While I was there, they found an issue with my brakes and explained it to me throughly without being condescending, as I am not car-savvy. I absolutely recommend this place! read more

Never Again... Invoice 603853 dated 07-27-2019 Purchased a tire pressure monitor sensor at the Yonkers, NY location on 6-16-2019, sensor broke and went back today to address the issue. Since the first approach at 7:57 am Robert acted very rude to me and things went south from that moment on; The tec taking care of my car had no clue regarding what to do and scratched my car rims all over the place, getting to the point of even cutting a chunk of the side of the tire, wish I was able to upload some pictures. Mavis really needs to check on their customer care reps and mechanics and train them properly to avoid losing customers, I am a clear example of someone that will never go back to them. Needed a wheel alignment and received a quote for $69.99. Called to verify quote with Sadiq who mentioned I was incorrectly quoted despite my quote having my car make and model. He then quoted it for $129.99. He was very nasty and claimed he is the "owner" of the shop. Not very professional. I then called another Mavis location and sure enough I'm quoted for $69.99 with the make and model I shared with Sadiq. If you want good customer service and fair prices DONT GO HERE. I went to Mavis because I had some problems with my breaks. I am always nervous getting work done on my car due to many places charging so many $$$. I believe Robert and Shawn were the associates that helped me. They showed me that I only needed break pads and they gave me an estimate, rotated my tires for free and changed my oil, and did a break fluid flush. My car has over 100k miles. When I got the final bill I was surprised that it was almost exactly what they told me it would be. My total cost was a little over $200. Thank you for providing amazing service and explaining everything to me. I will definitely be coming back when I need work done. 5 stars. read more

Took my SUV here for a brake pad special for $173 taxes and everything included, after they checked out my Hyundai Santa Fe 2014 they said that my brake pads and all 4 rotors needed to be replaced for a whopping $530. I took it another auto repair shop that checked the rotors and guess what they were fine, nowhere near needing to be replaced. Be careful with this store and the employees, they look to be using a lot of bait and switch techniques to meet their bottom line. If they give you an estimate do yourself a favor and get a second opinion. They will literally scam you out of hundreds... read more

Great service! Professional and NICE. took the car to the dealer for INSPECTION. Repairs would be $1500. ALWAYS GET A SECOND AND THIRD QUOTE. The dealer always up sells and charges a premium for their services. So, the dealer told me I needed a new battery, old one had corrosion, tires in front were worn should replace all 4, rear breaks were low. For all of that it would be $1500. I went to Mavis and paid $775. Btw, the battery didn't need replacing for inspection but it was recommended. 4 tires were replaced, rear brakes and rotors. They also recommended that I replace the front breaks. I declined. You need to be able to make informed decisions which Is why shopping around is important. Also, the dealer charged $130 for the inspection if I didn't use their services. I happily paid the $130 and still realized a savings after taking it to Mavis. read more

Oh. My. God. I went to Mavis to get an oil change before a roadtrip and they were the only place in my neighborhood opened past 5pm. The staff was friendly and professional enough but little did I know how incompetent the service crew was! When they did the oil change they have to remove the heat shield, but THEY DID NOT PROPERLY PUT IT BACK. They did not secure the heat shield with all the bolts so that when I drove a few miles that night I heard a rattling and dragging on the street below my car. I looked underneath and it was the heat shield dragging! Luckily, I was close to a gas station and was able to pull over and an older gentleman helped me detach the heat shield and put it in my trunk. He said there was only 2 of the 10 bolts placed on my shield. Either the crew didn't put all the bolts back or they were too loose and came off while I was driving. Although it was extremely inconvenient, I took my car back to Mavis to reattach the shield because I didn't want to go on a 600 mile road trip with my car compromised (obviously.) The staff apologized and told me they'd fix me right up. I was relieved. Stupid, stupid me... I was 100 miles into my roadtrip with a friend and I hear the same rattling and dragging under my car. We pulled over in the middle of nowhere and were lucky enough to see a couple coming out of a highway truck repair store. The boyfriend slid under my car and was kind enough to help two young ladies in distress. He told me that the heat shield was being held on by FUCKING ZIP TIES. The guys at Mavis never informed me of their jerry-rigged solution for my heat shield. The gentleman cut off the zip ties and threw the mangled heat shield in my trunk. I had to finish the rest of my trip without it. Although I didn't NEED it to drive, it still made me nervous to drive around with my car missing a piece. These guys really could have put me at risk or caused further damage to my car. I called corporate headquarters and demanded they replace the part. They agreed to replace it, but they want me to bring the car back to their shop to have the same assholes reattach the new shield. Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice, shame on me... read more

I work roadside assistance and when I come upon a car with s tire issue I get told we were just at mavis. They tell me that someone from Navi's told them to come back 2 days later so they can ck the torque on the tires. If it was done right the 1st time there is no need to have them tightened a second time if done correctly. Not sure whose fault is more here: the parent company Mavis, or these guys who run this shop @ Yonkers. I ordered four tires from Mavis' website and selected a Saturday to have the tires installed and balanced. Order close to $800 in value and plenty of time (around two weeks) - in my opinion - between my order date and the installation date. As I was getting ready to leave the apartment at 8 am on that Saturday for my 10 am appointment with the Yonkers branch, I get a vm from this them that the tires I had ordered were not in stock. I would have understood and rescheduled had I placed the order the day before and these guys didn't check their inventory properly the previous day. But come on...an order that was confirmed two weeks back? And these guys call me just hours I was about to leave to come there on a Saturday when I had postponed all other plans for this installation? And oh, when I called back to ask why they couldn't have called me at least the previous day and not right before I was abou to drive there, the guy who answered replied that I 'wasn't there on their system". And when I told him that this was an online order for which I had a confirmation received two weeks ago, he said he had too many people to deal with today and can't talk to me anymore. What a service! But then, when i tried later to speak to the person who had left me a vm, he regretted about the mix-up and said it's probabaly due to mix-up between the main office and theirs. He mentioned that he'll try to make it up for it when I reschedule the date to another two weeks from now. I decided to order the tires on tirerack and got them shipped to a small but professinally run shop in Bayonne (jersey City). I will never use Mavis again. Would have given them one star hadn't it not been for the guy at least trying to offer to make up for it if I come back to them. read more

I dropped my car for a tire and rim repair on Sunday January 29th Not only was I promised great service and someone contacting me daily about my car (2 days later and having to wait to get the car or a phone call about my car) one of there service workers STOLE MY CREDIT CARD OUT OF MY VEHICLE AND TRIED PURCHASING STUFF FROM APPLE, yes it was my fault for leaving the card in my car but it was in my cup holder since I had just gotten gas and JUST blew my tire....I was very upset when the tire blew and forgot I put the card in my cup holder!!! I had a horrendous experience at this location and I would NEVER recommend anyone to go there!!!! Talk about making a bad situation that much worse!!!! SAVE YOURSELVES, RUN AWAY, FAST! This is an update to my original nightmare of a post. I meant to update this back in MARCH (yes it took a total of 3 months to resolve my self inflicted Mavis issue!) They finally has ordered a replacement TPMS sensor and installed it on the car. The relief to my sanity only lasted less that 24 hours. The tire pressure light was back on brighter than ever! I gave up on trying to make it right with Mavis and took my car to the dealership AGAIN. The dealer informed me that Mavis had installed the cheapest and worst possible tire pressure sensory known to man and it had cause a malfunction on other sensors in the car! My dealership (Tarrytown Honda- love them) did not charge me for a NEW Honda sensor and was able to troubleshoot the other electric malfunctions. I had a nail in one tire. I went to this Mavis and asked if they could get one tire to replace. The guy told me I needed 4 new tires and would cost me close to $1000. I explained to him that I only needed the one tire and he was persistent and me getting four new ones. I went back to the dealership and they replaced the one tire and it didn't even cost me $200. My little brother came here yesterday morning to replace a tire. Called at night to pick it up and they told him it will be ready by tomorrow morning. Police came knocking at our door at 4AM. Someone STOLE his 2015 Infiniti Q50s from inside the Mavis store. According to the manager it's the 3rd incident on this property. First car actually stolen. Alex (district manager) called and put us at ease. a month later we are still waiting to be reimbursed.. we also located the car it was in NJ being sent to Africa. sounds like an inside job to me. read more

Complete scam. If you want to get ripped off, go here and I'm sure you'll get what I'm saying. You go in to fix or replace your tires and they use scare tactics to make you change your brakes, wheel bearings, etc. I was afraid to drive my car home because They didn't have the part to replace, what they said, was a faulty wheel bearing. I then spent the next few days going to different mechanics to see if there was something wrong and each one said that everything was fine. Stay away from this scam! Just got back from a routine oil change at Mavis, I've been a Mavis customer for the past 9 years, this was my first time at this location and I will never going back. I got to the shop within 5 minutes of them opening and I was told I'd be the third car up. After waiting an hour and fifteen minutes I was slightly annoyed that I was still waiting and there was a customer or two who came in after me that were already on their way, but no big deal as long as I'd be on my way soon. Shortly after my car came out and the mechanic called me over and said they accidentally spilled some oil on the engine and windshield and it would take 15-20 minutes to burn off. I am okay with this, I understand mistakes happen and an extra 20 min is worth it for not driving home with the smell of burning oil in my face. After the 20 min wait I go inquire about the car and they take a look again and it'll take another 20 min. Okay, I'm into this oil change for an hour and forty minutes at this point and I'm now upset. I told the mechanic I just wanted to pay, go home and have it sit outside with the oil burning off at my place, instead of crossing the two hour mark of being in the shop. He said no problem and that I'd be taken care of for the long wait and the mistake they made. At the register I confirm that I'd be getting a discount and they said yes, which worked out to $28.30, which seemed really high for a reasonable discount compared to what I paid in the past. I went out to the car to look at my old receipts and sure enough the last two Mavis oil changes I had totaled $29.99+tax....SOME DISCOUNT!!! I went back inside to show them, but they said they couldn't do anything about to give me any significant amount off. An hour and fifty minutes, oil is still burning off my engine outside and the discount I realize is a few dollars. Some customer service, won't be going back. read more

I was 30 miles in to an 80 mile drive when my tire pressure light went on. Luckily, I was near Mavis Tire. It was a Saturday morning and they were packed, plus I had my 75 lb dog in the back seat and we both really wanted to be on our way. Lucky for us, Mavis pulled the car into the garage within about 10 minutes, checked all the tires carefully, and found that the pressure was actually high. Dog and I didn't mind waiting for the half hour and when it was time to pay, I handed over my credit card and they told me to put it away because "they didn't actually do anything". They could have charged for the labor, but that was great customer service and I haven't had an issue with the car in the 2 weeks since. YAY! read more

I dropped my car off at 11:30 am and didn't hear a call back. I called them at 1:40 PM asking when my car would be ready and the gentleman on the phone stated that it was on the lift. At 2:45 PM I stopped in to see the progress and the woman at the desk told me that the delivery guy hadn't delivered the tires and when I asked if she would call him in front of me to get an estimated time of arrival I was given a snarky remark and rude body language. She proceeded to pick up a phone call and stated that he was 1 hour away. I told her if she would have called me and let me know the tires weren't here we could have saved time and got me out the door. To her, that didn't seem like a feasible option. She then proceeded to go into the shop and come out and tell me that the new tires I chose would take 45 minutes to install. This has been a waste of time and customer service. It took 1 hour. Moving forward I'm not giving my business to Mavis. Especially this Mavis. read more

After hearing their manager brag about how excellent his technicians were (even the dealers send him their cars), I proceed to have the following issues: 1) After replacing my four struts, my Service light comes immediately on. After losing ~8 hours and several visits of my own time, they tell me they cannot diagnose the problem and ask me to take it back to the Dealer to diagnose. 2) I buy four new tires from them, including wheel alignment. A few months later I take it back to them with my front tires "feathering" which makes me wonder if they did the alignment right in the first place. I would not recommend this Mavis! read more

Came back at stated time he never touched the car and he had put numerous other cars ahead of me that came after me. Apparently, it doesn't matter if you have an appointment the same time the place opens, it will take at least 2 hours for you to get your tires changed. Absolutely the worse. I should've gone to Firestone instead. read more
