Sullivan Tire strikes again! This time it's their Quincy location and not with me. One of my coworkers needs to have a new tire installed in his State issued car. While trying to arrange this, the attitude he got from the front counter worker was deplorable. I heard everything because I was sitting beside him while the call was on speaker. The front counter representative actually hung up during the call, I guess because my friend was asking too many questions, and called him out on his terrible attitude. This place is shady and I'm 100% convinced they were trying to take advantage of me because I was a woman. I went in with a slow leak in my tire my car has low miles it's a 2024 they came back telling me there was a gash in the sidewall of the tire and that I needed to replace all the tires because the tread was low and it's AWD so I had to do all 4 they could do nothing less then that it was all 4 or nothing. They would not show me where this gash on the inside of the tire was so I asked for my car back and left. I went to Town Fair in Quincy told them the same thing they pulled the car in and came back and told me it had a screw they showed it to me and told me $13 to repair. I proceeded to tell him what Sullivans said he told me there is no gash on the side wall this is screw in the tire and you have about 20k miles worth of tread left on these tires. I'm new in town best believe I'll never step foot in Sullivans again when I need new tires for my SUV in 20k miles or my truck I'll go to Town Fair in Quincy. Bought four tires from Sullivan Tire in Norwood about a year and a half ago. Great price and I've been very happy with performance. Drove over a nail yesterday just before the weekend (of course). Wasn't flat (yet) but was making a lot of noise. Called the Sullivan in Braintree, they told me to bring the car down. One hour, in and out, also rotated my tires. Pleasant, professional - couldn't have been nicer! (Only super-small quibble was dearth of Keurig pods for coffee while I waited - but it was Friday afternoon, and there was a starbucks in the mall across the street. No harm, no foul). 10 out of 10! These guys pretty much set the bar for great customer service. read more

I went there for a front end alignment and I mentioned that the front end was riding a little rough and the steeling wheel was shaking a bit and asked them if they would not mind checking it out. I know my jeep needs some work, the check engine light was on (the thermostat needs to be replaced) and the emergency brake needed to be adjusted as well. They were nice enough to check it out (and not charge me) and said they could not do a front end front alignment which was fair because my car needed some work. They provided me an estimate for $3,000 to repair the jeep which included changing the entire suspension, fixing the emergency brake and diagnosing (NOT FIXING) the check engine light. I took it to my normal mechanic and he charged me around $1,700 less than what Sullivan tire was trying to charge me. I suggest if anyone has any repairs to go elsewhere besides Sullivan tire. read more

Another year has passed. The same car battery still working when I was told by sullivan it needed to be replaced 2 years ago and last year each time I went to get an oil change. I took it to another auto shop to do oil change this year. They showed me battery is good. Even though oil change was expensive, I rather go to them. Do not bring your car here unless you are prepared to wait the whole day for the most unprofessional mistake from their new hires. I made an appointment at 11am to get a tire change. When I showed up, they said they didn't have the tire I wanted so I was told to wait for a couple hours. I waited and came back at 2pm, then they said their new hire has put on the wrong tire so they would have to replace which made me wait for another 1.5 hour. I didn't get any apologies from them until I had to step up and asked why it took them hours to change 1 tire. And the person I spoke to said it was because their new hire's mistake and they couldn't do anything about it. I absolutely do not understand how a long term business like them would let inexperienced staff to work on your vehicle and made this most unprofessional mistake. I do not recommend this place due to the lack of professionalism and their inexperienced service. read more

I have been an extremely satisfied customer of Sullivan Tires in Braintree (Common Street) for many years after purchasing a set of tires there and more. They are honest and fair and explain everything each step of the way. But today was the day I felt compelled to write a glowing review for the outstanding customer service I received from the manager of this location, Brian Palmer. I've had two emergencies in recent weeks and Brian attentively listened and addressed my concerns--on the spot--even though I just dropped in without an appointment when my brake fluid light unexpectedly illuminated while driving. He treated me like family and had a technician check it out--even though they were quite busy--to make sure it was safe to drive. Same for when my tire lights went on last month. My mother went here to get her 2 rear brakes done on her car. Pads rotators and calipers. She paid 1100 dollars. They said for all four 2200. That is insane. This place is a rip off. The parts for her brakes were under 300. And it took an hour. 1100 is insane. They marked the parts up by 3 charging her 900 and 200 for labor. That is wrong read more

Like many other negative reviews, I have been doing business with them for years, but their service could have been better lately. I called to book an appointment for next week for tire rotation and was told I am all set and to see you on that date and time. I showed up, and they said they got nothing for me and asked if I had received the email confirmation. I didn't receive any email but only have the call record. Then they said nothing they could do, and I had to schedule for next week. I waited for three min. for the email confirmation, but no email. I asked when I should expect the email confirmation; he said he got it on his calendar and I am all set. That is a hilarious, flip-flopping statement, so which one is true? This mismanagement has happened before. So now I have to wait two weeks for a tire rotation. Sorry to say this, but I will have to reconsidered to do business with Sullivan Tire in the future and take my business somewhere else. read more

I was driving on my donut for a while and needed a new tire. It turned out I needed four new tires due to the tread wearing down significantly on each. I chose this Sullivan Tire location because I've been there before two years ago and didn't have any issues. Their waiting room is neat, organized with a tv and there's free WiFi. Enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee from their Keurig. Their customer service is always awesome. I saw a customer bring in a box of cookies when I was waiting for my car to be done and all they did was change a tire on her Land Rover. I was able to get one of her homemade chocolate chip cookies and it tasted so good! Glen helped me out when I had a lot of questions about what kind of tires to get and with the cost. 1 star is too much All I wanted was the big nail out of my tire. What I ended up getting was stripped lug nuts and every monitor light flashing it's ok to drive. Yeah ok to drive today tomorrow it will be dead. Scheduled a real auto mechanic to look at it the next day. Too bad the car is dead from all those lights causing my battery to drain. So now I am out one battery, fix to the connections the staff at Braintree pulled out trying to get the pressure gauge lite off and really fix my tire. read more

My local Sullivan Tire has always been my go to for Tire needs. Open 7 days a week and offering a shuttle service was helpful. Tonight, they came thru once again. Realized at 5:40 my Tire pressure was very low, when I got there, the store was due to close in 20 minutes. Unfortunately, a bolt was lodged in the side wall of my Tire. I fully expected them to throw the spare on, and make me an appt for the following day. To my surprise, they had my size Tire in stock and changed it on the spot staying open a few minutes late to complete the job! So appreciative for these guys! I can't remember the guy's name who was working the front desk on Saturday, Jan 19th around 2PM but he is the reason I will be bringing my car back for more service. I came in to have my LED high beam lights looked at since they were installed improperly. I called a few autobody shops who either had no idea what they were doing or gave me the run around. So I called Sullivan Tire as a last resort. When I brought my car in, the guy in the front personally went to take a look at the high beams. Within 15 minutes, he reinstalled the lights and has them working perfectly! He also didn't charge me a single cent and didn't ask for anything in return. Because of that, I had to leave a review to show my appreciation and I'm already scheduled to come back in soon. Thanks again! read more

12/27/19 UPDATE: I rec'd a call from Mgmt. shortly after my initial post telling me they apologize and want to make it up to me by not charging me for the alignment. I said that I appreciated it, booked the appointment and had the work completed the following week. When I was leaving that day, the manager "Nat" said that the register is not working properly and asked if I could call back the next day and they would reverse the $99 charge for the alignment. I have since called 3 times over the past 3 weeks and Nat informed me he would adjust the charge and call me back. GUESS WHAT? I AM STILL WAITING!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!! I paid $769 for the job and no adjustment. No respect. Terrible customer service. You have a choice of where to purchase your tires and how you want to be treated. read more

UPDATE: Although I had an unfortunate experience (detailed below) the manager and the usual crew were not on duty that day. The manager (Matt Kline) has since told me that he spoke to the individuals that were working on Sunday. If this were any other Sullivan Tire, I'd probably give up on them entirely. This is still the best Sullivan Tire I've been to (and I've been to quite a few). I hope Mr. Sullivan knows what a great employee and business person Matt is. I'm revising the star rating from my original review. I'll have to go back a few times before I fully upgrade the rating, but for know I'll give them a "good" rating. -------------------------------------------------- Today's experience at the Sullivan Tire in Braintree (next to South Shore Plaza) was extremely upsetting. They have walk in service on Sundays. In the past, I've called to make an appointment and they've always been like "no need for an appointment, come right in just get here before 3pm." Today I drove in at 2pm. I was actually turned away, "Sorry, we can't give you an oil change today" and that was it. Period. I also noticed that not only was Matt (who has always given exceptional service) not there, but I did not recognize any of the employees. I'm sure this, along with the lack of customer service, is no coincidence. I then called the corporate office to complain (from the parking lot) and spoke with "Katie". She tried to be helpful, said she would contact the Braintree location and call me back. In the end, they had four cars that needed oil changes and they weren't going to accommodate me. Katie offered a free oil change for the next day. I'm not looking for a free oil change tomorrow. I want to pay for the oil change TODAY. What kind of business makes its customers bend to what is convenient for them? Apparently, Sullivan Tire. Up until today, this was one of the best Sullivan Tire's I've been to. I actually wrote off Sullivan Tire for several years after a horrible experience at the Brockton location. I've been going to them for over a year, maybe two. I've had work done, in addition to oil changes, and four all new tires this past year. I am VERY upset with today's lack of customer concern. Still experiencing the aftermath of bad service. Discovered to they messed up the catalytic converters while working on replacing the cylinder head gasket - which they had to fix 3 times because of shoddy service! One of my tires kept losing air so I brought my car here without any notice on a Friday afternoon. To my surprise, they took my car in right away, assessed the situation, and fixed the issue within 30 min which is pretty impressive given that I came here without making an appointment. Given that it was a simple fix, I was able to get in and get out quickly but it looked like you should expect about 2-3 hours of wait time if you need a complete tire replacement. I like the location of this spot since it is right next to South Shore Mall which means you can just chill while your car is getting fixed. I'm writing to express my dissatisfaction with Sullivan Tire. I have come to Sullivan on and off over the years for servicing and always for tires. Recently, when I had my car serviced in April the team at South Shore recommended some additional work to the tune of over $1.2k. Two months later I returned to have that work done. Now, nearly three weeks later I just got an estimate of $3.5k for additional work. Here are some things I know and understand. I know and understand my car is old and well used. I understand it will require routine work to continue working properly. I understand that given its age some of the work will be extensive. Here's what I don't understand. I don't understand why the team never recommended the FULL scope of work that was actually needed in April as opposed to having work done only to be told I need additional work done. Over $4k is not chump change - it's nearly the total cost of one entire year of car payments. Perhaps instead of trying to sell me headlight resurfacing which is so superficial in nature, you can recommend the real, thorough work that actually needs to be done. To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. I come to Sullivan for honesty and consultation. I now feel like I've been taken for a ride because I trusted Sullivan's recommendation and instead of getting a second opinion, I had the team go ahead and do the work. I feel like I've been supremely taken advantage of and have lost some serious respect for a business that I thought was reputable. read more

Very disappointed in my experience today. Dropped my car off at 12:15 for my 12:30 appointment. At 2:30 they called me to say Michelin authorized my warranty work, something Michelin told me and them on the phone yesterday. At 3:30 my car was still sitting in the parking lot waiting for attention. Frustrated I took an Uber home. At 5:00 they called to say the tires were on but when I asked if they'd been aligned as I requested when I made the appointment he said they had not. No effort was made to have them aligned by closing time so I'm without my car tomorrow. My story only gets worse. When I heard nothing from Sullivan Tire by noon the next day I called to request an update on when my car would be ready. I was told it had been ready since the night before. Then I learn they only replaced 3 tires! I had approval from Michelin for 50% warranty for 4 tires! Never again will I do business with them. read more

Got my oil change done here a few weeks ago. Now my car is making rumbling sounds and vibrations, and my check engine light even came on. I went to my original dealership to get this fixed since it's a new car and it's covered under warranty. Found out it was because the previous oil change wasn't done correctly, and oil was spilled everywhere and there was almost no oil left in the car. There could also be permanent damage done to the car. I am going to Sullivan tires after this and proceed to the next step in resolving this issue. Stay away from stoughton. Last year got my tires there and after several alignments and rotations they could not correct the severe pull. According to them it was determined I had faulty tires (they only needed to be properly rotated with as they were put on wrong side of van. I asked for a free oil change for the unconvince and many return trips to the shop and the store manager, I think it was George, yelled at me and basically said it is not his problem and walked off saying absolutely not. I am the consumer and he is the sales person, shop manager responsible my vehicle is in proper safe driving operation. He failed. Big time. Most unenjoyable experience. I wont go back there and only deal with them at another location because I got the lifetime rotation. What a bad learning experience. Can only spread by word of mouth.
