Absolutely disgusted with the service I received here. I came in for an oil change and a tire rotation. The guy comes back 20 min later telling me that they broke a lug nut on one of my tires because whoever worked on it previously over tightened it. Now I understand things happen but all I can say is I released my vehicle into their care they broke a part and made it seem like they are doing me a favor for fixing it. My appointment was at 10am I just picked up my car at 3:10pm. All the manager was able to offer me for my wasted time was a handwritten note for 50% off my next oil change after he charged me $93 for the current one. That's absolutely ridiculous and infuriating. I will be calling corporate because this is absolutely unacceptable. I will let everyone I know how terrible the service is. These guys don't care! Ever since Mavis took over this location from NTB it has been going downhill...in my opinion. I have been a client for years at this location and it's sad to see its decline. You walk through the doors and it's like a High School Auto Mechanics class is in session. The lobby is set up with crooked sings and duct tape. My last experience there was on Friday 6.11.21 to get a flat tire fixed. It took all day. I dropped my vehicle off at 9A. I called at 4P, Lucas told me he couldn't find my number...it's was on note pad you had in your hand... the one with 3 pages of other, random numbers on it. I'm in the system Lucas!! I called again at 6P when they were about to close, I just wanted to make sure that this wouldn't be a two day job. It was finished. Austin (I'm guessing the St. Charles manager) followed up the next day after my poor Mavis review. He said the delay on the flat fix was due to being short staffed. I'm fine with it taking all day to fix a flat. However, their inability to operate a phone to keep me updated on the status of my vehicle is unacceptable. Also, the "short staff" excused has been used on me a few times in the past at this same location. It must be in on Page #1 of the Mavis Customer Service handbook. read more

They thought they had a dummy and didn't realize they were talking to a car guy. I took advantage of their 4th of July sale for an oil change and to check my wife's brakes in her 2015 Kia Optima. They tried to over-explain that we basically needed new brakes and rotors. That's fine. I looked them up on eBay as well as RockAuto.com to be sure of price and found whole brake/rotor sets for $150 or less delivered. Tell me why the shop foreman quoted me an $800 estimate, in which immediately declined?! At the end of my oil change transaction I curiously asked the front desk lady to break down the quote. She got to $323 for parts, taxes, "shop fees", and 1 hour of labor, but couldn't figure out where the other almost $500 extra came from.. Then she said she couldn't print out the quote and the guy who gave me the quote wouldn't come back to justify the price difference. This gave me severe scam vibes. I wonder how many other people have been taken advantage of and just paid this price. Beware of this type of predatory pricing. I ordered the brake set including rotors and brake pads for $150 and got quoted 1 hour of labor from a mobile mechanic to save $500. read more

So I had ordered tires from Amazon and their preferred installer is Mavis (aka NTB).. So took my car in and had them balanced & mounted.. I waited and everything was fine till I checked-out.. The manager said they broke one of the center cap medallions and would have to order one.. Now this was back in January this year (2022).. I have stopped by a number of times,, no return phone calls.. It's actually a bit ridiculous.. Very frustrating to say the least. Don't think I'll be back.. Talked to a worker night before about dropping off car in am have a tire with screw in it. Asked all pertinent questions, told me where to drop key and our call back info. Dropped off in am. Came back after work and they said they didn't do it because they didn't k ow where key was. It was right where they told us to put it. Said they would fix right away. It took eight months and around $2400 to get out AC repaired. The customer service at the St Charles store was awful. Had a much better experience at the Geneva store. I have been dealing with the St Charles store since my tire purchase 3/30/22 after spending 989.00 had to go back 3 times to balance tires finally went to the Bloomingdale store by then front brakes were destroyed which were new in February of 2022 they rotated new tires and had to put front brakes and rotors another 302.00 this was on 6/2/22 rude customer service told me excessive brake dust was normal no help there.I had my tires rotated on 2/24/23 only 6k miles on these Michener defenders.Front end starting to shake went to my dealership tires all unbalanced they rotated the tires back one tire was bad due to high road force . Went back to St Charles store told them about it Mike said he would order tire. I had to call to find out if they came in on 4/27/23 they did so I went in I could not believe how awful the store looked no business at all I asked for the manager so we could look over my paperwork from the dealership mechanics he was not interested told me he would charge me to put another tire on and said nothing was wrong so he rotated the tires back and balanced the bad tire I felt very uncomfortable with the type of people working there the manager had his buddy come in and it was strange the class of people and the condition of the store should not be in St Charles. I was unfamiliar with Mavis prior to my visit. I work in the area and needed rear brakes done on a BMW. While there were some hiccups , these guys went the extra mile to take care of me. I think if you treat people with respect, and keep a level head, things work out. Corey keep me informed on what was going on, and a higher up ( don't remember his name) also went above and beyond the realm of customer service. Last time I will ever be to this poor excuse of a business. Needed 4 tires and was the second customer of the day. Another man walked in with me and he needed a single tire. The young lady working the front told both of us it would be 1.5-2.5 hours MAX to be completed. Four hours later the job finally got done. The man that had walked in behind me for a SINGLE tire was there for 3.5 hours. I wish this was the only problem. About 2 hours into this oh so fun journey (with the clock ticking on how late I am for work) the young lady comes out to inform me that the driver side front tire was missing 3 lug nuts when they got it. As I stood there confused wondering how that happened I informed that I drove the car last night. With only 2 lug nuts on a wheel I would have felt extreme vibrations and that wasn't the case. I wasn't insinuating that they were to blame for this, until Austin comes ripping around the corner very defensive, and downright paranoid. Saying they have pictures of this that blah blah blah. This young man was extremely rude and I could not believe the tone he was using. I had to tell him TWICE to just replace the "missing" lug nuts before he would stop being so confrontational. Shockingly, the fun doesn't end here. Now, I don't know if it was intentional or not. Honestly at this point I don't know what's worse. After I finally got out of there I get in my car turn it on and the sensors my car has to determine the psi in my tires tell me that my right front tire has 28 psi and my left front has 25. 4 BRAND NEW TIRES and I already need to put air in them! Decided I was already to late for work to spend anymore time there and took off. I went to work as fast as I could. After work I noticed that the valve stem covers for both left side tires were not applied. As I'm writing this I'm contemplating going back to ask about it, but with how well Austin handled this first situation I feel like there is no way I can go back there and listen to his excuses. I highly recommend nobody going here to have any work done on your vehicle. Ordered tires online from their website, good deal on good tires, happy with performance of tires and balancing. The issue with store is the upsell and rim damage. Called me and offered alignment and told me my front brakes are 90% worn, I do all my own auto repair and knew this was not true. Price for brakes and rotors was $350 dropped to $250 when I said no, quite a pause when I said no probably because they knew I knew they were not worn. 3 rims were damaged in the shop, I took pictures in parking lot when I dropped car off and there was no damage at that time, they denied it was their fault even with photographic evidence. Gave car an alignment and charged me for it even though it was not out of spec. Will never return, flat out scammers. read more

I called before I came in to ask if I came in 20 min for a nail in my tire were they available. Man on the phone said yes, so I came in. I agree with other reviews, the lobby of the store has really bad vibes & looks terrible. When I got into the store, they said it would be an hour to hour 1/2 wait. I told them I had just called. They said since I called, 3 people came in ahead of me. Ok, so I'm already here & just decide to wait. The whole time I'm waiting, I can hear the manager in his office watching videos online & having personal conversations. Maybe he's on break or something, but why would you leave the door open so everyone can hear this? Again, very weird vibes. After waiting for 50 min, a dog walks out of the office too, ok. It took almost exactly an hour before my car was done, so at least that was accurate. It was $23 for the tire to be fixed. When I checked my trunk, they put the spare on upside down so now the tools don't fit in there with it & I will have to adjust it when I get home. When I got there they said they were already booked for the day. I told him I made an appointment on line and showed them my confirmation e-mail. Again, oHe still told me he was all booked up for the day. Don't waste your time with this place. Obviously theIR computer reservations didn't mean a thing. I can't say enough about Brandon, the new manager here. I had a rattling noise which sounded like the back wheel was about to fall off. He knew exactly what it was, the trailing arm, and showed me the part that was causing it. Also taught me a lot about brakes, which I also needed because there was a pumping whenever I put my foot on the brake. He is knowledgable and honest, which I appreciate so much. Amazing company. Brought my Ford Expedition in and said I think brakes need to be done and an alignment because I have a high speed wobble. After about 1 hour got a call letting me know I don't need any of that the wheels had no balancing weights on them. I had ran over a large screw and I needed to have the tire replaced. $138 with tax and balancing. I pulled into their shop at 4:45. The manager (I think Lucas, maybe Marcus) told me should be done by 6:00 just wait in the waiting room. The manager and some other guy sat in the office playing games on their phones. I asked a number of times where is my car. "Oh it should be next". At 6:30 where is my car? The manager said oh they are checking the tire balance. 7:30 my car was brought to the front. The windows were down, the seats adjusted and it reeked of fast food in the front and back. I complained to the manager about the condition and he said I was crazy. My car has 7,000 miles and is 7 months old and now has some soft drink spills and food smells. One or two guys obviously went out for food. I noticed someone had brought food back for the manager and other guy in the office yet they had never left so it was obviously my car they used. I won't be going back. read more
