Jamie the bartender in the Trophy Room bar is a master mixer. We had a Smokey Old Fashioned and a Jalapeño Piña Margarita. The old fashioned tasted like it was made at a speakeasy. He even used a real smoker to Pimp out the whiskey flavor. Truly unique, as I myself mastered the craft of mixing Old Fashioned's during quarantine. The margarita made us say, "Ay, yayai!" It was tasty and not super spicy. This bartender made us feel like a couple of regulars. We would be if we lived in Scottsdale, but we'll leave happy and satisfied back to Hollywood. What a great place to bring your family! The atmosphere is relaxed as this is NOT a hardcore bowling place. Its set up for fun, food, and drinks. The arcade is huge and looks new. The kids loved seeing who could get the most tickets at the end of the night. Our food was good with good size portions, and the drinks were very tasty! Next time we are back we will try laser tag looked fun but seemed closed. All in all a wonderful family night out. read more

We are a family with 3 young kids. Mavrix was crazy fun to do with them! Staff was really friendly and helpful. Games and facilities were very clean. They have a separate bathroom with a changing table. That was nice since we have a baby. We opted to order food at our bowling lane. It was easy to order and was taken quickly. The food was AMAZING! The bowling lanes were nice. They can program the rails to come up on a child's turn automatically. The kids also get scored with Angry Birds theme on their screen which they loved! The games ranged nicely so both our 5 and 8 year old were able to play and earn tickets. The prizes are well priced and good quality. They played the Rabbids VR and thought it was the coolest thing ever! We also did the laser tag. So much fun! It's team based and you get to play for a good length of time. Was easy enough for both my 5 and 8 year old to play too. We will be back for sure! May do their Birthday party there since they do have private rooms and package deals. Fun for all! Came here on a Saturday night for date night. I booked our lane the day before on Mavrix website. Making the reservation was easy. The hardest part was deciding on the VIP lane or Signature lane. We opted for the more expensive VIP. We did arrive 15 minutes early as suggested by Mavrix. Upon entering we were greeted by the very very nice ladies behind the front desk. We did have to wait for our lane because of the previous bowlers were still occupying it. No worries because we did arrive early. There is a huge play area for adults and kids. This area is filled with all kinds of games. You do have to buy tickets to play the games. You purchase your tickets at a vending machine. I did notice that ticket prices were not cheap. But to be fair, I am not sure how many tickets you need to play each games. Once our lane was ready my husband got his shoes and off we went. The VIP area consisted of 8(?) lanes compared to the Signature which had many many more. The VIP lanes had holograms in the floor of the lanes that changed pictures with every throw. We did not eat but our hostess visited us often to see if we need refills on our drinks. My wine was $9 a glass which is reasonable . Our experience was not cheap with a price of $130.00 which included one pair of shoes and tax for 1.5 hours of bowling for 2 adults. Overall it was a great time! The place was loud and the mood inside was fun. We may not do very often due to the price but it was a great evening of fun! They are receiving 3 stars because management worked hard to correct the numerous errors of the evening. 1st error- event planner selected menu for me and then advised me that I had made selection when I had the email we both agreed to that I would get hack to her 3 days before party 2nd error- now had 2 food orders and had an over abundance of food as they first brought out the wrong order; gave it as a freebie and then brought out correct order (wasteful as kids didn't eat) 3rd error- Intermittent card issue with the arcade game cards The host was new and nice however did not leas any of the transitions to the events and at the end I was glad it was over as I was the kid wrangler as I had to make sure they got to do arcade and laser tag. Great spot for the family, especially if you don't want the loudness that Dave & Busters has or the large venue. Smaller arcade at this location, fun bowling, laser tag and our favorite was the jenga, life size checkers and corn hole at the outdoor area. Food was really good too and so were the drinks. Came here with family. They turned this old mall building into a really fun and hip place to hang out. Lots of fun stuff like bowling, arcade, laser tag, etc. Entire place was very clean and due to our current Covid situation, all staff are wearing masks, every other bowling lane is open to allow social distancing. They have a couple of full bars open as well as a bar menu. If you are bowling, a server comes to your lane to take food and drink orders. We had the deep fried cheese curds, loaded nachos, and chicken wings. All were very delicious. Great place to hangout as well as planning a celebration or corporate event. This is a new business that was stuck with the shut down not even a month after they opened. I wish them much success in the months/years to come. read more

Don't waste your time trying to plan a kid's birthday party here. The event coordinator is slow and inexperienced. Probably too busy on Tik Tok. She wasted a week not returning emails, texts, and voicemails. Then we finally got the proposal and the terms were ridiculous! If you do decide to do an event READ the contract! They can sue you and you pay their fees and you can't do the same. Then they can use your name and photos of minors from events for their promotions. No way to opt out. Are regular folks walking in to play required to do the same? Still waiting to hear back from her and what her supervisors decided! It's been week. Not very professional...but this is not surprising. We planned a better birthday where we don't have to sign our life away for some pizza and bowling. I'm not stepping foot in this place. We went to octane during the day and decided to try lunch at the restaurant inside Mavrix. I will say the server was great, but the food was inedible. I ordered the wings and a small Caesar and the wings had a taste that was pure fat and old oil, and the Caesar salad was pure vinegar, it was horrible. At one point I tried to wipe my tongue on the napkin to diffuse the taste. My other friend ordered the chicken tenders and fries, the chicken tender was not very flavorful, frozen bags have more. The fries, and I know what you're thinking, "how do you mess up a fry?", well if the potatoes taste rotten the fries won't be good. Wow! why would anyone go bowling anywhere else but Mavrix at the pavilions at . it beautiful, has everything you need for adult and FAMILY fun. I took my grandson for an two hours of bowling. We stayed for 6. The afternoon package cant be beat. The place is super clean, and the staff was exactly what "old fashion" hospitality looks like. Elizabeth was the manager. This company is so lucky to have her. She was everywhere. She was like the best Maitre'd... touching with all of the guests. She remembered our names and was more than gracious. She must be one hell of a trainer, because the entire staff was happy, genuine, and focused on our enjoyment. This staff did not avoid eye contact, they made sure we were having a great time. Pia was also great to interact with. Who expects nicely presented , and good tasting food in a bowling alley, I did not. I was shocked! They even make a pretzel look great on the plate! The lazer tag was so much fun, we played it twice. OK, lets talk about the bowling, because that's why we came here. Here is what is so different here... The bowling shoes were not beat up. All will good laces and in very good condition. The bowling balls were plentiful, arranged so you could find them, and most importantly they had no divots and were all like new. You may wonder why I talk about the condition of the shoes, balls excetra. It is because two days earlier I went to BOWLERO on Via Linda, and experienced a bowling center that should shut down, because the place is dirty, the staff don't care, and the bowling balls and should should be traded in for new. There is no food anyone should want to eat. SO why would you go anywhere else!!! Mavrix on Indian Bend is the ONLY PLACE TO GO! Ask for ELIZABETH... she is the best!!! My only disappointment was, knowing the area "boss" was there, and I asked to meet her in order to compliment Elizabeth, and the entire staff. She never came over, nor did she call me after I gave my name and phone number. This is an indication of a company that's out of touch with guests and staff alike...lets see if anyone reaches out I heard that Bowlero just bought Mavrix . Their menu online shows tons of gluten free options so I was super excited to try them out. We ordered the nachos and garlic fries. The flavor was amazing. Felt like it was too good to be true to be gluten free. Within 30 mins I was sick. I even took 3 pills that help with the pain of cross contamination but even those weren't able to save me :(. I'm so disappointed in this as I'm so careful with my gluten exposure and usually always eat at home to avoid this. I have celiacs so eating away from home is always super stressful. Not sure why places find the need to mark food gluten free if it truly isn't. I understand gluten free eating is a fad for some. But us people with celiacs disease suffer immensely and ruin our intestines beyond repair with exposure like this. read more

We went for Mother's Day with the family. Our main visit was laser tag. The arena offered was very big, but just one floor with obstacles of practically the exact same mold scattered around. This made for a rather boring game. There are far better laser tag arenas in the Phoenix area than here. Reason I did not provide a lower rating is because all the staff were very friendly. I also do not know if it was because of the holiday, but we were given 2 cards, each worth 2 hours of free arcade games. We had a blast with our mom playing in the arcade and stayed a lot longer and had a lot more fun that if we just played laser tag and left. read more

We went there for a large work celebration last week. While the activities for our group were fun, the food and service were poor. Items would run out and took forever to refill them instead of them monitoring. Out of silverware, ice, miscellaneous food items, all things that should've been well monitored. When asking for replacements server looked so annoyed and not friendly in any way. If I could give less stars, I would. We came here and spent nearly $200 for 2 hours of unlimited bowling (this doesn't even include the drinks we were charged for which varied in price for the same drinks, I'm sorry, what??). After about 45 mins of bowling our balls got stuck, so we requested maintenance/help, waited about 30 minutes, and still nothing so we requested to change lanes to their VIP lane w/ the animated lanes, which they did BUT the lanes didn't even have the upgrades included and when we left we were told they just moved us there but didn't turn on the upgraded features because we didn't pay for it, but had NO problem charging us for everything still.... Why even allow us to move there and not provide the upgraded features?? We then left EALRY (before the two hours were up) and requested a partial refund which they only provided 30 minutes (which is fine), but when we paid for our second round of drinks they were $4 more expensive??? For the same pitcher of beer. Overall, terrible experience. Don't recommend this place at ALL. You pay for this so called "experience" but it's a load of crap. You're better off going to any ordinary bowling alley out there and getting what you pay for there, which is significantly cheaper. 0/10 will not be going back, ever. read more

Cool looking facility. We bowled a couple games, shot pool and did some laser tag. Games were fun....service was horrible. Waitress came by when we just got there and hadn't had a chance to look at them menu. 30 min later, she still hadn't been back so we had to hunt her down. Got our beer bucket order wrong twice. Brought our food (messy fingerfood) with no napkins. We had to go hunt some down. 20 min later she brings napkins that she apparently realized she forgot initially. Asked for other items missing from our order and meal was done before she got back with it. Seriously one of the worse waitresses I've ever had. Probably a good thing she never introduced herself by name and wasn't wearing a name tag. Service is the only reason this is a three star review and not five stars. read more
