Manila sound was playing in the background, not too loud that we can still talk. Food 1 star. Major disappointment. The Max's chicken: the original taste is gone. I don't know if they cooked it twice or they used old oil. Pork sinigang: too salty. My daughter who is a fan of sinigang complained. She said she couldn't savor the soup on its own because it's way too salty. Sisig: We ordered the Krispy pork sisig but what we got was the regular pork sisig. I could let it go but the taste was really off. It was soggy, i think it was too much liver in it or mayo(?). I think it's just all liver with a bit pork. I didn't see any pork snout or pork ears. No egg on top either. So I told the server and I think it was the manager who came up to us and apologized and gave us a free dessert. Still, they need to know that the food they serve is not as delicious as before. I love Max's and I will support it. So please improve your food. read more

This is my second time eating here and I'm disappointed in our recent visit. The waiting time wasn't too bad for a Sunday afternoon, and the staff were friendly, but it's clear they're either overwhelmed or understaffed. The ambiance is okay, nothing different from what I expected. We ordered sizzling sisig, sinigang na baboy, whole Max's fried chicken, and rice. The sisig wasn't sizzling at all and seemed like it had been sitting on the counter for a while. The portion of sisig is only good for one person. They served it alongside a cold sinigang. We had to ask them to reheat the soup, and even then it only came back lukewarm. The sinigang's flavor didn't hit the mark and lacked the tangy richness I've had at other Filipino restaurants. I can definitely make better at home. The vegetables in the sinigang were undercooked. I like a bit of crunch, but these were raw. The Max's fried chicken came 20 minutes after the rest of our food, and only after we followed up twice. When it finally arrived, it was overcooked, dried out, and very salty. If you're from the Philippines, you'll know that Kanto-style fried chicken is far better than this. Max's is always a classic spot for Filipino food. This restaurant is a chain from the Philippines, and my family and I always enjoy coming here. The service here is always so polite and friendly- the food also comes out very quickly. I don't think we waited more than 15 minutes to get all of food. Joseph served us and I appreciated how happy and friendly he was to us. My favorite thing we got was the Pancit Bihon. It's probably some of the best Pancit I've had in a while and the lemon tasted amazing with it. The sisig was also great. It was crispy and full of flavor. Max's was also a lot cheaper than most places in Los Vegas. Definitely should check this place out if you need some Filipino food! read more

Had a yummy fulfilling dinner at Max's. It was my first time eating here but the food was delicious. Max's chicken was super crunchy and cooked perfectly. The French fries that accompanied the chicken were nicely seasoned. The Chop Suey included shrimp which was a nice surprise to it. The garlic rice was my favorite along with Sinigang Na Baboy (Pork Tamarind Soup) not pictured. Sinigang soup is my favorite and I love it more sour and they really hit the spot with the sinigang. The rice was nicely cooked and I didn't eat much of the pancit since I got full after everything else, but it was nice trying it with egg noodles instead of the usual vermicelli noodles. We came in a huge party (20 people), but because one of us called ahead, they were able to put tables together and get us seated relatively quickly, which we definitely appreciated. The restaurant was pretty busy when we arrived at around 2:30pm on a Sunday, so we definifely had quite a wait to get our food and drinks. Given the circumstances and the size of our party, I can't count it against them! I'll try to keep my notes brief! Calamansi juice: refreshing, sweet, a little tart and bitter due to the calamansi (Phillipine lime). The bitterness lingers a little, but I still enjoyed it! Chicharron Bulaklak (crispy ruffle fat): crispy, flavorful, but super greasy! The vinegary dip definitely helps to cut the greasiness, but be prepared! Classic Pork Sisig: flavorful and tasty, but there were bits of cartilage throughout. While it wasn't my favorite sisig due to the seasoning and texture, it still did the trick. Sinigang na baboy: my favorite today! It was hot, a little sour, savory, and tasty. The pork inside was nicely tender. This was perfect after a night of drinking! No photo because I was across the table and couldn't take a photo before we all got into it lol Sizzling Tofu: it was definitely sizzling! This wasn't quite my style, but if you like mayo, and a little sweet/savory, it might work for you. It made me think of an apple mayo salad but with tofu instead of apple and hot instead of cold... Max's Fried Chicken: thin, crispy skin with soft meat. It was lightly seasoned, and while I say the meat was soft, it wasn't juicy - it was a little dry, but the menu recommends eating it with banana ketchup and Worcestershire sauce, which might help with that. While it wasn't my favorite chicken, it was worth trying! Garlic fried rice: solid, as you'd expect! My experience at Max's was okay.. The food I ordered was as expected but the only thing was that some sauces was missing that accompany the entrees. I've been here twice, there's always a long wait because of the long line of people wanting to get in. We're from FL and every time we visit Vegas, it's a no brainer that we eat here. They're known for their fried chicken, so I highly recommend you order it. It's very nostalgic for me when I eat their fried chicken because my father used to bring this home at least once a week when we were young. He died when I was only 8 so Max's fried chicken is tied to my fond memories of him. My friend and I went to this restaurant for dinner. When we came in there weren't a lot of people inside but was told that there will be a 15-30 wait. This was almost 6pm and they closed at 7pm. On our last day in Vegas and wanted some Nilaga or Tinola bc it's been so cold so we decided to stop by Max's. At first I thought the restaurant was closed or not in the plaza bc it's sort of a dark area. We had to change our seat bc the table they gave us was dirty and we were so close to the large party so luckily a booth was located in the corner. We've opted for nilagang Baka and Inihaw na Liempo, both tasted good, but the soup was luke warm. I rated the restaurant a two bc of the following: 1. The service was efficient though we had to wait for our drinks after the food was delivered which also took a long time though they weren't busy at all. There was only 3 customers. Maybe that's why the soup was already cold when it got to our table. 2. The restaurant was dirty. 3. The restroom was a horror movie. You know what they say when the restroom is dirty, imagine what the kitchen looks like that you don't have to go in there. I don't even want to think about it. Go somewhere else. I'm pretty sure there's another Filipino restaurant that cleaner and tastier. I've been to a lot of Max's but this place won the best price for the dirtiest. I'm just being honest guys. Came here with my family of 6 on a Friday afternoon and had a really great experience. We were seated within 10 minutes and the server was fast with taking our order and bringing out waters, drinks and food. We got two of each for a whole chicken, pork BBQ skewers, and garlic rice. Then we also got one order of sinigang. Everything was eaten family style. There was definitely too much food for us to finish but we would've rather had leftovers than not enough food. We were able to take home some of the BBQ, some rice, and a half chicken. The chicken was juicy and crispy and super yummy. I love this style of fried chicken because it feels lighter than breaded chicken (like Jollibee). The pork skewers were my boyfriend and I's favorite dish and it comes with vinegar which was so delicious for dipping. I also really enjoyed the garlic fried rice but my boyfriend didn't think it had enough garlic. Now, I'm not usually a big sinigang fan, but the sinigang na baboy here is so delicious. The pork was tender and not too fatty, and I liked that the soup had eggplant inside. The soup was flavored well with a good consistency and not watery. I still prefer my mom's sinigang which she makes on the spicier side using chillies. Overall we loved it and will definitely be visiting locations back home in California more often! read more

This is to the owner of Max's- You have a lot of very angry people who probably will never enter your establishment again. Last night, New Year's Eve, was the worst experience I have ever had. You yourself would've probably been FURIOUS if you went through what your customers experienced last night. Your staff accepted orders that you couldn't properly fulfill and I will make sure that everyone knows what you put us through. You have ruined our New Year's Eve celebration, left out kids hungry and our guests ended up leaving my house early, not fed and because of the fact that my husband and I were not home BECAUSE you had us waiting at your restaurant for HOURS. I had put in my order Dec. 28th for pick up New Year's Eve @ 4pm. We arrived a little before and there were about 6 people ahead of us, checked in, told them I was there for pick up and gave the guy out front my name. My husband and I sat down and the nightmare begins... More people started arriving and we waited patiently, everyone (about 60 people were now there) was gracious but HOURS passed. On our 2nd hour (I had already given my name twice to the staff), I was losing my patience, people that arrived after us were getting their food and leaving! I approached 2 of the staff and told them I've been waiting for 2 hours and they just said they would check. I waited another hour until my husband stood up and waited in front of the kitchen and they just looked at our receipt from his phone and checked again but nothing. They came back out with other people's order until 7pm and there were only 3 of us left. This woman who was behind us when we arrived a little after 3:30pm was already crying and screaming (I don't blame her, her kids were waiting at home, she probably didn't expect she would be gone as long as it took to go to California) and her husband banging at the door of the kitchen. I will post pictures of the restaurant when they finally gave us our order at 7:30pm, we were LITERALLY the only ones left! They gave us our order, apologized but no mention that our order was not complete until I opened the bags to inspect and the crispy pata was not there. Were you expecting that I would leave without checking the bags first? You know why I checked the bags? I saw many of the customers coming back with food missing and they ended up waiting another hour or so AGAIN. And why would you not mention this when you gave us our order? Or announce this early on while everyone was waiting that you were out of caldereta and crispy pata and kept us waiting for something we did not order?? A long end story, the staff offered to cook us another chicken and add more lechon kawali, not what I wanted but my kids were already calling us hungry and I was too tired to argue. We ended up leaving there a little before 8pm. We got home and my worries while I was waiting at the restaurant came true. The food was not the quality I usually get from Max's. The lechon kawali was over cooked and the pancit was terrible, soggy. Oh the kare kare was not half a tray like they said over the phone, they just gave us a large styrofoam tub. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE experience, you have ruined our family celebration. You should be ashamed of yourselves for being so greedy and wanting to accept all these orders to make money and had no thought as to how this would affect the plans of your customers. The bright red sign on the building always makes my mouth water for their lumpia served in a lumpia wrapper bowl. How do they fry the bowl like that!? Coming from the Phoenix metropolitan area, there are literally only two places to go for "ok lang" Filipino food. When I get to Max's though, you best know I ball out. A full fried chicken, Crispy Pata, Lumpia, Lechon Kawali (yeah I like pork), Pancit Bihon, Pancit Canton, and two bowls of white rice; yeah this probably feeds a family of like 6, but when in Vegas... Called for a reservation and glad that both times they were able to accommodate us. On my first visit, the French fries that is served with the chicken was very cold. Sigh, that was the negative of that visit. Service was good. Both the 1/2 chicken and Sinigang were yummy. On another visit, Joseph was our server. He was very professional and on it with everything. The only negative I have to say is that we ordered Lechon Kawali to go but unfortunately he didn't put it in and when we were paying he said it would be ready in 10-15 min. This was a very disappointing visit. My family moved away from Vegas 6 years ago and recently moved back. This was our first visit since we moved back here, but apparently, the ownership has changed. The menu used to be a large multiple page menu with a lot of different options but has been whittled down to a one page menu front and back. It wasn't busy when we showed up, but we still had to wait about 15 minutes to get any service. A table that showed up 5 minutes after we did got service before we did. The chicken did not taste as good as before. It seemed to be over fried, drying out the chicken where it used to be super juicy. The lumpiang Shanghai seemed like poor quality. I told my wife it tasted like they used canned beef loaf to make them. The Lechon Kawali and Pinakbit were pretty good. Maybe it was just the batch we got, but the white rice was overcooked and mushy. The mango sticky rice was disappointing as the mango they used was obviously preserved canned mango pieces. They tasted like the cans of fruit cocktail you get at the grocery store. When I asked the waiter about it, he just told us that he didn't know if the mango was fresh or canned. Overall, service was slow, and they never refilled any of our drinks. On poor service, my practice is to only tip 10%. The waiter stopped me on my way out to try and return the tip because it was so little. We will definitely not be returning for another visit. For anybody considering eating here, I would recommend you check out Mang Felix instead, which has 2 locations in Vegas. read more

I come here with family every couple of months when we all want to gather and not cook. The location is on the corner of Flamingo and Maryland parkway in the same shopping area as the Albertson's. It is near the university. The area needs some upgrades, and you can see worn in state of the area. The staff is friendly, helpful, but are short staffed so patience is needed. Pricey for what you get, but I'm happy to spend for some tasty filippino grub. read more
