I ordered to go on the phone and was told how long it'll take. I had it time before heading over hoping my order would be ready. I really wanted to like it based off of other reviews, however was disappointed. The Pho size is just one size which was about a medium. That is ok. However, the amount of meat given in my opinion is that of a small. I brought my food home and it was barely warm. My destination was not far away. My order wasn't ready when I arrived so waited on my it. My assumption would be since I was at the restaurant when it was being made and my destination is less than 2 minutes away, it should've been hot still. I had to warm the broth for about 4 minutes to get hot again. That's fine, a bit inconvenient but I can do that. The meat was a small portion than I would expect. The taste did have flavor but not my top, personally. Where the disappointment came in more was the freshness of things. The bag of bean sprouts and jalapeños is pre-packaged but it was bad. I know that the employees should've noticed this because they opened it to put the fresh cut lime in it. The color was browning which doesn't always indicate bad, but there was a smell to it and it was slimy and sticky inside. Pho without bean sprouts, jalapeño, and lime can be ok but that is what makes it better. Additionally, everything I ordered too quite a bit of time to make considering I was the only customer and the only order they were working on. I called ahead of time but still waited. A couple of drinks and the Pho was about 15 minutes more after arriving.

One difference with their Bun Bo Hue is they don't add pork blood cake in their version, which is a minor "ding" in my preference. The Pho here is also very good. Like the Bun Bo Hue, the stock they use (stock is much better than just plain broth that many other restaurants use) is rich, favorable, with just the right amount of fat. The spicy / heat level is rather mild, but there are chili oil, chili flakes and Sriracha at each table, so you can add more heat if you want. Unlike many other restaurants, they also bring out little containers of pickled sliced garlic and pickled hot peppers ... the sliced garlic is a great addition to any dish. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is very clean, well lit, and there is plenty of parking. The prices on the menu are more than reasonable when compared to comparable restaurants in the region ... less expensive than most others. The bonus for me was the cream puff that came with the meal. I have not seen that happen for at least 15 years ... it use to be a common occurance whenever you ordered Pho or Bun Bo Hue. All in all, this is now in my top three Pho restaurants.

The grilled pork is my favorite part! The serving size is huge so it could definitely feed 1.5 people. I usually eat about 75% in one sitting and save 25% later. The other dish I order if I'm eating at the restaurant is R9. Fish tamarind sour soup and Caramelized braised fish with rice. This is a staple I had when I was younger and ate out at Vietnamese restaurants. The food here is truly authentic Vietnamese! The prices for some of the dishes are also very reasonable for Tacoma. A banh mi (Vietnamese baguette) only costs $9. In addition, there's free and easy parking in front of the restaurant, happy hours from 2-6 pm Monday through Friday, and catering!
