This place is fine. I was expecting old school American style chinese and that's what we received. The entrees were well seasoned. The egg foo young was really nice. I like that they put the meat and veg on the outside with the gravy. My only complaints were with the side lo mein and soups. Bland and not a lot going on. The lo mein was just brown pasta and the hot and sour was basically brown egg drop soup. We'll just skip those next time read more

Delightful dark atmosphere with white linen table cloths. That's the good part. Awful and I do mean inedible food. Didn't have time for food poisoning so I opted to just leave. If you eat here, get everything in one order. The staff disappears after being served. Sad how bad the food is. read more

Friday lunch with the guys. There was some arguing and no one had an opinion so we went with May Dragon because it was at the intersection. Pepper steak with rice was great. We showed up before noon and it was pretty empty. It picked up as we were there. Chris was quite enthusiastic and showed off his multi-lingual skills. Lighting was kind of dark if you like that. Oh wow, where do I begin? This was the worst restaurant food we've eaten in years. Both of our dishes were drowning in thick, gooey sauce. More than likely to cover up the poor quality ingredients. The eggplant was old and tough and was swimming in what looked like motor oil. The cantonese crispy noodles were anything but crispy as they were drowning in sauce and limp. The chicken in it was as tough as my shoe. How can they even do that? In a microwave? The wontons in our soup were limp and fell apart. Were they in the refrigerator for weeks? Folks you've been warned. There is a lot of great Chinese food out there. This ain't it. I would be surprised if this place stayed open another year. Saturday night at 6pm and the place was empty, we were the only customers in that big place. Sorry, it's time to shut it down and retire Joe. It's had better days. read more

I had gone here for many years. I was so disappointed with the food. The soup was way too salty. My dish I had was not good. I did trade it in for a different one. That one a lot better. It was just was a lot different from years past. I don't mind the prices going up, but wished the food was better. The service was good and they checked on us frequently. read more

I have been to May Dragon many times, but primarily for lunch and the quality has gone downhill over time. Tonight anyway, this was the worst Chinese food I can ever recall. We ordered takeout this time. The crispy duck was completely dried out (almost beef jerky like) and inedible. No flavor for $24. I can't believe anyone would serve this to a customer. They should be ashamed. The shrimp in the shrimp and lobster sauce was overcooked and mushy - terrible. The spring rolls and fortune cookies were ok. I doubt I will ever return. read more

First thing, the place only had 2 other tables of customers on Friday night at 7 pm. We should have known. Service was really good. The waiter was spot on when ordering but then disappeared when beverages needed refilling. We ordered cocktails. The bartender was very inexperienced. A drink described on the menu with dark rum and pineapple had neither. They gladly removed the drink and an old-fashioned was ordered. It was a questionable old-fashioned. Sesame chicken was flavorless and lukewarm. Ma po tofu served the same way. This place was a jewel back in its early days. Now, not so much. Large portion sizes to go. The Kung Pao Chicken had tons of chicken and peanuts. The sauce was sweet and spicy but a little runny. Green bell peppers were cooked well. The sauce was just a little too sweet for my tastes, and more veggies would be nice. The steamed rice was good. I also tried the Chow Fun veggie dish (that's just fun to say, LOL). Although it's fun to say, I would pass on this entrée. The noodles are doughy tasting, and it doesn't include a lot of veggies. Only a few pieces of broccoli, a few pieces of carrots, some snap peas, and a few onions. Doughy noodles is the best way I would describe this dish. Go with the Kung Pao instead. read more

I can't believe how many times I've been in the area, and never thought to try this place out. I feel personally obligated to try ALL (well, most) Asian restaurants because I'm a Shrimp Fried rice head and I love the cuisine. So I'm baffled I missed this place for years. Overall reviews are a 3 star and that's enough for me to go in. I'd actually gone to Jasmine down the street but they're only doing to go orders at the time...boo.. Food was solid; I ordered a combo fried rice, spring rolls and wonton soup. When I questioned which meats come in the rice, I was told shrimp, pork and chicken...but note, it comes with beef and not pork (which is what I wanted) so it was a little disappointing. Overall the rice was good although I had to add soy sauce. I wouldn't order the wonton soup again because its $3.00 and only comes with 1 small wonton and nothing else (shallots, etc in broth), although the broth has great potential. I entertained being greedy and getting another entree to eat another day, but the prices of most chicken dishes I wanted were $14.00; yikes! I couldn't do it. Overall its a good place with good service and nice owners so its a 3.5 stars for me. Ill try other items when I want to break that bread in the future to see if it warrants a 4 star. read more

I got delivery from here one weeknight with my roommate. I got the Crab Rangoon $10.00 for 4 pcs. This was meh, mostly just cream cheese inside and the breading was chewy not crispy. I also got a Hot & Sour Soup $4.00 which was pretty good and a good size. The crispy wontons that come with it are large and there are plenty in the bag unlike some other places. For my entrée I got the Sesame Chicken $20.00 which was just okay. The breading was not crispy at all, it was soggy due to the soup like sauce that filled the container. Their steamed rice was better than some places but the entrée was a real letdown. Not bad for a Chinese fix but very expensive for what you get. read more

A few days ago my husband and I had an early dinner. I have been eating here since1984 and and with my husband since 1992. We have been joined by children, grandchildren and friends. The food is always excelent never had to send back or any complaints. As always the atmospher is quite and a wonderful staff. I love this place. It's just about the only restaurant in town that serves real peking duck. It has other terrific dishes as well. Huge menu, and a well-seasoned waitstaff that knows their stuff. I joined a group of friends for lunch today. Friends said they love the restaurant but the food was just so-so. There were 8 of us and we were seated at a round table with a lazy susan in a private enclave! It was nice to be able to see and talk to everyone during the meal. Service was good. Drink & food orders promptly taken. Food arrived as ordered! I ordered Szechwan Eggplant. My dish was just mediocre, lacking flavor, and texture. I've had better. The consensus of the table was that food taste and quality was lacking except for one person who ordered Sesame Chicken - she loved her dish. It is doubtful that I will return to the restaurant. The $16 lunch special was expensive and there are much better options elsewhere. I will say that our waiter did a great job! On Thanksgiving day, I was looking for a restaurant that was open and thought about this place that I had seen several times with customers going in and out. I called and they were open, so off I went. Upon entering I'm greeted and seated in a booth. The ambience is nice. Chinese decor, low lighting, white tablecloths, gold cloth napkins. My server brought out fried wonton strips, hot mustard and a wonderful red sauce with bits of pear in it I believe. I ordered orange chicken. It came with fried or steamed rice and if I remember correctly Monday through Friday you get a cup of soup. I chose hot and sour soup. When my meal arrived, it looked very nice. Big chunks of chicken with sliced carrots and bell pepper. I got fried rice and it was nothing special. More or less just rice with soy sauce in it. No other veggies or egg in it. As I started eating the orange chicken, i immediately noticed no orange flavor. I dug through the dish but could not find any orange peels or even the small chilis that makes it spicy. Not one to complain, I didn't say anything but it was probably more like General Tsaos chicken. So, I was disappointed in my Thanksgiving meal but at least I had tried a new place to see if it was my go to Chinese restaurant. It wasn't. read more

I'm very particular when it comes to my Chinese food. I visited May Dragon today and had my favorite Chinese dish Teriyaki Chicken. I rarely describe a dish as perfect but from the juiciness of the chicken to the amazing sweetness of the teriyaki sauce I couldn't describe my meal any other way. I also believe the staff in any restaurant goes a long way when it comes to the success of any meal and I have to be honest these guys were 5 star, from their knowledge of the menu to their politeness. He was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. The food was okay except for most of what we received was fairly underseasoned. The big issue is they serve their chow mein without noodles. "Mein" literally means "noodles". She asked if I confused it with "lo mein" so I just left it at that since there was no winning. I gave two stars because she offered to make my dish as lo mein for me to pick up (which isn't what I wanted but was still nice) or $3 off my next order. Gas is too high for me to drive back and forth to make up for a restaurant that doesn't know the difference between fried noodles and tossed noodles and I won't be placing another order in the future. My family just arrived from San Antonio 10/28/23 and we were really hungry. My sister in law viewed the reviews and it was enough for us to have our dinner here. Everyone was very friendly and owner friendly and our waiter was so nice. They took time to talk with my family and were engaged in our dinner conversation which was very nice. I ordered the shrimp and broccoli with steamed rice and dumplings. Wow the food was on point very, very delicious. I highly recommend this place, if you want fresh good food. Will not order from here again. Kung Pow was not extra spicy as requested, ordered fried rice with the dish + a side of lo mein, did not get the fried rice, paid $20 for this. I got 4 crab ragoons that were soggy because the put them on cabbage, there was no crab and no flavor, $8 for this side. Two spring roll and a large Hot and Sour soup were average. Total bill was a little over $48 with tax and tip we paid $58. Would have been nice to get an update my order was arriving early. Found it when I went to check the mail. read more
