I HAD been a patient here since I was a young adult, and in the past I had positive experiences with both the staff and providers. Unfortunately, that has not been the case recently. My last visit was approximately a year ago. I work in the medical field and am familiar with insurance processes and patient care expectations. Clear communication is essential, especially regarding insurance acceptance, appointment reminders, and authorizations. In this case, communication fell short. Patients should not have to chase information that directly impacts whether they can receive care or whether an appointment is even valid. I recently followed up regarding services and an authorization that I learned had been approved over a year ago but was never communicated to me. Had I been informed, I would have returned the call immediately. Being told that voicemails were left--without any awareness of this approval--was frustrating and felt dismissive, particularly when I am proactive about managing my healthcare. During my follow-up call, I experienced interruptions and an unprofessional tone. In healthcare, listening and acknowledgment are not optional; they are foundational to patient care. Even when staff may disagree with a concern, patients deserve to be heard and spoken to respectfully. I understand that healthcare is demanding, but professionalism and empathy are non-negotiable in this field. Poor communication and dismissive interactions erode patient trust and disproportionately affect patients who may have language barriers or limited understanding of insurance systems. Overall, the level of care and communication I once valued here has noticeably declined. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve patient interactions, communication practices, and overall standards of care. It is a comprehensive all in one dental center. The chief dentist is very caring and nice and skilled. My mom went in for a teeth extraction and it was infected and she gave her an antibiotic injection. Now she's waiting for her soft dentures approval from her medicare insurance. They speak Mandarin, Cantonese, and Spanish. It's a great community resource for immigrant families. read more

Went in for a check up & needed work done. I got my teeth cleaned the first appt. Then on my second appointment I got 3 teeth extraction, dental filing & a deep cleaning. Everyone there is nice, the office is nice. And my tooth removals all went well, I didn't feel a thing! 10/10 service will be returning to finish my other tooth extraction soon! Don't bother coming here if you're searching for a new dentist. I originally wanted to find a dentist closer to home but I see that I should not have changed dentists...at least to this office. Appointment time: 2:00 pm (arrived 1:58 pm) Time when left: 3:45 pm Front Desk: no one greets you and you don't really know what you're doing because no one talks to you. They do temperature checks and give you mouthwash to start when you check in. X-ray : I've NEVER had an experience as terrible as this. The lady took 53 pictures because she couldn't get the right angle and that's never been a problem for me before. We spent about 40 minutes doing this. Biting on the little board hurt my mouth so bad and caused a little bleeding. They need to upgrade because no other dental office felt like this or they need to train their techs better. - also just want to add that the X-ray tech touched the inside of my mouth and then typed on a non clean keyboard and took the picture by touching the switch on the side with the same hand she put in my mouth. The whole area was a bacteria breeding ground. They need to learn hand hygiene because the lady did not wash her hands and the surfaces were NOT wiped down. Instead of general teeth cleaning they wanted me to do a "deep clean" so I left. They wanted to charge extra money for a deep clean and since my insurance didn't cover a "deep clean" completely (80% coverage). Mind you, I don't have severe plaque or cavities. I've never had a dental office tell me I needed a "deep clean" instead of general cleaning. read more

This place straights up lies to your face. Firstly, for someone who has been religious about going to the dentist every 6 months since I was young, the owner doctor tells me that I need a deep cleaning. I asked her why & what is the evidence. She says that everyone starts with a deep cleaning here. EVERYONE?? I used to work at a dental office, you are suppose to measure the gum height along with having bone loss & calculus in order to diagnose a deep cleaning. The doctor did NONE OF THAT! After confronting the doctor, the doctor said that "today we will just do a normal cleaning". Then the same assistant who took my x-rays was about to lie me down to do my cleaning. I asked if there was any hygienist available? The doctor said "not today, she comes on other days". So I decided to reschedule because I did not want an unlicensed ASSISTANT to do my cleaning. A couple days later, I called back to schedule my cleaning and specifically requested for a hygienist. The front desk worker who picked up said that they don't have any hygienists that work here. THIS MEANS THAT THE DOCTOR STRAIGHT UP LIED TO MY FACE! read more

Honestly one of the best experiences I've had. I am highly terrified of going to the dentist and bad enough I had to go to get 2 root canals. But honestly the doctor and the assistant made me feel so comfortable and made sure I felt zero pain during the 2 root canal treatments. I was in the chair for about 2 hours but honestly totally worth it. Also had to get a cavity filled but other than that it was just amazing. Felt zero pain and even after I left and the anesthetic wore off I still felt no type of soreness or pain. I would give this place a solid 10 out of 10 !!!! read more

I went to a different dentist took X-rays and guess what? I still had cavity in on the filling that Dr. Naing did. I give this place zero Stars. Dentist is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL in the way she speaks to patients. When she hurts you she continues on with no apologies. I only went back because they put in a crown and after 1 week it crack from eating pizza and wings. NO I wasn't chewing on the bone as she said!!! Just crappy work and materials! I got 2 root canals here; one was good and the crown fit well, while the other crown popped out. It was just a little over a year when I got my procedures done, so I was no longer under warranty of the crown. I had to paid to get the crown replaced. Now, about 3 years later, this same crown came off when I was flossing today! I don't know what to say. I paid a lot for the crown, expecting it to last more than 5 years and here I am with the same problem. This would be my third time getting a crown for the same tooth. I don't think so!!! I am not coming back here ever again after this horrible experience. This place over charges you, but I do not mind as long as the materials they use lasts! I am looking for a new dentist! May has always had the time to educate us on keeping a healthy smile. The front staff talks to you about what to expect and always calls to remind you about your appointment along with a courtesy text. For a mother of 3 reminders are so helpful we go through what we are needed to do the day of. We review our last visit. We talk about our next visit. Nothing gets unsaid. Very professional. People that work there are nice but after that the service is bad . First thing their equipment are dirty . When I was getting my xrays done she had gloves and obviously put those things in my mouth but once she had it in place she would go in the back and take the photo but she'll touch the wall(and that was dirty as well you can see the dirt marks on it ) with hers hands then put her dirty gloves in my mouth again . I was getting a cleaning by the same lady and omg she was literally drowning me with water multiple times . I was so scared . I was extremely nervous coming in and that made it worse . Next I needed two root canals . When they worked on my teeth the lady was extremely taking out all liquid in my mouth my lips got so dry and cracked , my tongue was also really dry.. So when they did the xrays again the equipment in that room was extremely dirty as well then of course she touched that then put her fingers in my mouth . Surprisingly it took around a hr to do both but waited 1:30 to be called in and I came on time . So the weird thing is you can tell I got some work done on my teeth . The color is pink and when I tried flossing it ,it wouldn't go all the way so I guessing she didn't separate the teeth . I've gotten one rooT canal else where and it looked flawless the color matched my teeth , the teeth were separated and took a hr to finish that one so that's what I expected when I came here but nope and days later I still have pain on my teeth . In two other dentist I went to they gave me meds and waited for the infection to go away before starting the work but here they start it then give the the anabiotic's . I've been a patient of this clinic for over ten years and have referred several people here as well. Prior to showing up for my appointment I had called and confirmed the appointment. When I showed up for my appointment the receptionist claimed there was no appointment albeit the appointment was confirmed. I took the extra step and verified my insurance benefits prior to showing up. She said that she called me and said there was no appointment ever scheduled and they claimed they couldn't see me for 6 months." I asked if that's the case why would I show up?" $$ Crooked dental practice. $$ I went in for a general teeth exam/X-rays for the $25 special I saw on an ad. The dentist that worked on my teeth was the wife of the owner. I believe her name was May, but I am not sure. She was incredibly kind and friendly while she was examining my teeth. Afterwards, she told me I had 9 cavities and quoted me at $900+ to get them all fixed. Because she quoted at such a high price, I put my dental needs on hold and decided to wait until I went home for the holidays (6 months later) to work on my teeth. My uncle is a dentist back at home, and he gives me free dental care. When he examined my teeth, he told me I had ZERO cavities. What May Valley claimed to be "cavities" was just plaque build up that was removed from my uncle with a basic teeth cleaning. Do not let these crooks fool you. I highly recommend getting a second opinion from another dentist before getting work done by May Valley. read more

They gave me an estimated fee for $3000+ to complete my treatment... I am so confused because I always have my dental checkup for at least once a year!! So I WENT TO another dental clinic which also in El monte in the same WEEk.... and I didn't tell the Dr. how many cavities May Valley said I have.... They said...
