By far the biggest mistake I made with my wedding was walking into Mayana Bridals on December 3rd. We came across the store by accident, which I took as a sign, but instead I proceeded to miss all of the signs pointing to this place being a hellhole and cause of much anguish. As I awaited my turn at the store, a girl was picking up her dress the day before her wedding (a theme you will witness if you spend more than 30 min in this shop). She tried to warn me but I ignored it and instead believed the sales woman who promised me a dress, tiara, a veil and unlimited tailoring. The day I purchased my dress, the saleswoman said they had a special so the tiara would come with it and I would have an array of options when the shipment arrived in a month but this was a lie. I called in January but she said they had not arrived yet and I should call back end of February. February came then May and they still didn't have them. I followed up again end of May and she sent me 7 pictures of black looking tiaras and she said these were the only ones they were getting and they would not have them for me to try on until June. At the end I got stuck with a tiara that in their own words did not match my dress because the lied about having an array of tiaras for me to pick from. As for my dress, the owner said in my contract she had to put first week of May but since I was ordering it so early it would for sure arrive earlier than that but this was a lie. My dress did not arrive until the very end of May. There were many issues with the dress and each time I went to the fitting she would promise to have it corrected but instead she would get annoyed at anyone pointing out issues with the dress. For example, she added straps that cut into my skin and she said there was nothing she could do about it until my own mother in law suggested adding clear bras straps under it to prevent the fabric from rubbing against my skin. There were multiple other issues for example with removable sleeves that looked like a kindergartner had glued it together. By far the worst part was the over skirt that I recall asking her multiple times if the tiny thread could really hold it together and which she made fun of me for imagining the thread could ever break. Well it did, at the very start of my wedding... By far the worst job was done on the veil. I had asked about the veil multiple times but each time she said it would be ready at the next fitting. At my last fitting, the one the day before my wedding, she gave me a veil that was hard to even hold up with on hand let along wear on your head. I asked her if we could make it shorter and she handed my scissors saying I could cut the beading from the bottom. I looked at her dumbfounded. I was not a semstresss, how can she expect me to cut it straight. She then laid it on the floor of the store and said "okay I'll just cut it". I begged her to stop asking why we couldn't just take of the stitching of some of the beading and she said this was what she got. I left the store crying and went to my own seamstress. It was then that Mayana had glue gunned most of the heading onto the veil like a child playing with macaroni and paste. The weight of the veil came from all of the glue and there was no way to remove the glue. I have likely blocked a lot of other dark memories from my experience at Mayana but to this day, I would not wish this experience or this store on my worst enemy. They don't even deserve one star. In summary, if you value your sanity stay away from Mayan's Bridal. If anyone wants more details, feel free to contact me. read more

Terrible experience, got my dress last minute on the day of my wedding minutes before the wedding.Nelly the owner of the shop kept me the whole 4 months on pin and needles. I was starting to loose my hope. Cried many times but couldn't get any refund to go buy a dress from other place. She is not an honest person, would lie on your face without any shame as if it is a normal behavior ( for her yes) . For the sake of my fiancé I kept the details not to make already stressful process worse. This place was useless and the staff was very rude. I was very excited to go in a few months ago and I left very dissatisfied by their treatment. They told me over the phone that they had a variety of dresses they would show me and in reality they only showed me one dress. When I asked to see different styles she said they didn't have anymore and that was it. I was in there for maybe 30 minutes. She did not let me choose what I wanted to try on or anything. She literally brought one dress out and that was it and told me there's nothing in my size for me to try on. I am not sure if they had more dresses in the back or if it was only the ones on display in the front of the store but I found it very odd. The lady who was helping me put on the one dress I was able to try on was so rough that she was pulling my hair and shoving it on and off me where the beading was literally scratching me. read more

The sales associate informed her that there were no working staff members present even though there were other people in the store. I made an appointment here and the staff seemed very friendly and excited for me to come in. They let me know that the dresses start at 4k and I only get one hour for my appointment. That's fine! I get to my appointment 15 min early and there's a huge group still in there so they told me to come back in 15 min. I did and the huge group was still there. And they stayed there through my entire appointment. They sat my mother on a plastic folding chair off to the side while they still catered to the other group on couches. The group was nice and offered my mom a seat on the couch but she declined. They take me into the back dressing room and it's a huge pile of wedding gowns laying on the floor. They dig through the pile and find my dresses that way. Nelly was too busy with the other group to listen to what I was trying to tell her and kept having me try on dresses that I didn't like. She ended up telling me that I just have to like the material and everything else can be changed. I told her "then how do I know what the dress will look like on me"? After that she became more rude and was arguing with me about what style of dress I want and eventually told me that this place isn't for me and I should go to another shop where they have more designers to choose from. So I said Okay! And I got dressed and left right away. I tried on three dresses in front of the other group with my mother pushed to the side. The whole experience was awful and Nelly was totally rude. She ended up calling me after I left and told me they'd be getting new styles in and I said "no thanks". I'll follow her recommendation and stay the hell away from her store. read more

This store is a gem for anyone looking for full service bridal experience with excellent customer care,gorgeous gowns and a beautiful facility with the most helpful gown consultants I've seen in a long time. I came in to help a close girlfriend do a preliminary shop for gowns. Just to get a feel for what she even likes. Full disclosure: I used to be a buyer for a high end wedding shop in Atlanta, GA so my standards are quite high. Mayana impressed me at every turn. They handle or have close connections for all the little details as well for alterations, adding bustling elements, and veils, etc., so it's really one stop shopping. They listened to my bride and gave her some really flattering options to try and were just so sweet and accommodating every step of the way. The gowns were top of the line and it's evident the buyer has great taste. When you're ready to say yes to the dress, this store is the one. We even got the tearful try on moment and we are coming back with mom to seal the deal in two weeks. Love this store and the girls here! read more

Agree with all the bad ratings. I went in February with my mom and 3 aunts. A younger lady must've been mid20s with little personality welcomed us in, her first question was "so did they tell you how this works?" And "what's your budget because our cheapest dress is $5k" I replied with $3,500 out the door. She again stated the cheapest dress was $5K and how all the brides from Lebanon & Dubai shop there. I got dressed in a small dressing room that was cramped with other stored bridal dresses & went to the back to use the restroom and saw more cramped bridal dresses in a hallway. It's so upsetting because you expect to be treated like all the other bridal boutiques and this girl just didn't want to be there or didn't care. I'm happy I got my dress somewhere else & they even stayed open for me to decide and pay after. Management needs to retrain their team and hire personalities. I felt bad leaving this because speaking ill of a business doesn't help them but hopefully this will be a lesson. read more

This shop happened to be close to home, so I thought to give it a try. Initially, Nelli (the owner) was extremely nice. Immediately after I wrote the check to Nelli, she stopped even looking at my face when I talked to her. Instead, she would always be texting and talking to her family on her cell phone, and dismissing my questions and concerns with one or two word answers, and always rushing to leave the store. THERE WERE LOTS OF PROBLEMS: 1) The dress was supposed to be "comfortable." Instead, even months after my wedding, I still have eight permanent scars on my back and abdomen from my wedding dress. It was awfully painful wearing the wedding dress the day of my wedding. SEE THE PHOTO OF MY SCARS. 2) This shop is very IRRESPONSIBLE! Nelli asked whether I want to come in for my final fitting before or after the week of New Years because the shop was supposed to be closed the last week of December and the first week of January. I asked her when she wants me to come in. She said that it did not matter. Because of that, I told her I thought that it would be a better idea if I came in the first weekend of January because that would be closer to my wedding date (2 weeks later). She agreed. I came in on the first weekend of January. Guess what? The veil had not even been shipped from Lebanon yet--yes, this is just 2 weeks before my wedding! Silly me--I thought I was there for a final fitting. Instead, I just tried on one of their sample veils again. Note that I had tried that veil on months earlier as well when I was shopping for a wedding dress, so there was really no point in trying the store sample on again--it did not even look like the veil I paid an extra $800 for. So, I had to come in again one week later hoping to try on the two veils I had purchased. I was told both veils would be ready, but again they were not. I had to come in again two days later, as I was promised that my long veil would be ready by then, but it still was not. Essentially, the week of my wedding, I was told to come to this shop nearly every day, hoping to try on my long veil. Nelli lied every single time. THE NIGHT BEFORE MY WEDDING, I was asked to come to the shop at 6 pm to finally try on the long veil. I did. AGAIN, Nelli lied and wasted my time. I was at the shop from 6 pm to nearly 10 pm, just sitting on the couch, waiting for Nelli's seamstress to sew lace onto the tips of my long veil. I wasted so much of my limited time because of Nelli's lies. Every time I asked about the status of my veil, she would say, "It is almost ready." So, I kept waiting. After 3 hours of waiting, my patience finally wore out as I had to be up at 3 a.m. the following day to get my make up done. I asked Nelli what the heck was going on, and demanded that I see the veil they were supposedly working on. NELLI YELLED AT ME. Imagine that! She yelled at me, claiming that I should be thankful that she is waiting at the shop with me instead of going home to her family. My mind was blown! She then blamed me for coming in the the first weekend of January instead of the last week of December--even though that is what she had said I should do. I told her that my height has not changed for about 10 years, I have come in to the shop every single time (multiple times) she asked me to come in, and SHE is the one who has failed to timely deliver my wedding dress and 2 veils. Nelli's mom (who was sewing my veil in the back) then yelled at me. Nelli's husband then yelled at me. The main seamstress was shaming me for being upset, and at the same time, apologizing, and stating that it was her fault that my long veil was still not ready. At the same time, she kept saying that this happens all the time, and that it is not a reason to be upset because it is entirely normal for brides to spend 4 or 5 hours the night before their wedding at this shop. Absolutely ridiculous! Nelli missed every single deadline she promised. I got only 1 hour of sleep the night before my wedding because I was not expecting to spend 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. at this shop the night before my wedding. I was literally shaking, and in tears as I carried my dress out of this shop and into my car. 3) NELLI GIVES EVERYONE A DIFFERENT PRICE FOR THE SAME DRESS. Hence, no price tags on any of the dresses. My neighbor's niece paid $2,000.00 for a wedding dress. I paid $5,000.00 for the same dress (purchased just one month later), plus $800.00 for my long veil. When I asked Nelli about the difference, Nelli became irritated, and tried to shame me for even inquiring about the price. Eventually, she said she would give me a discount on my veil. SHE NEVER DID.
