Grounds are absolutely gorgeous! The atmosphere is straight Gilmore Girls. The food is a bit pricey but the ambiance makes up for it.

Our dinner was meh, I think this place is just as overhyped as the Inn which can fetch up to $2500 a night. The menu was not inspiring despite their best efforts to use locally sourced items. Paying $25 for some grilled lettuce is just crazy to me. Drinks will fetch you just about that as well. Even the kids grilled cheese at $18 is insane. We had a table of 10, 3 which ate off the kid menu, and the bill still was $1,000. Now if the food had wowed me it would have been a differnt story, but not so much in this case. Our table tried several items, only ones not pictured were the steak and kids burger, but nobody was impressed despite the high expectations in advance. The sourdough and homemade butter was good though, although the butter was pretty salty.

We dined with a small party in a private room, warm and comfy, and boasting elegant, polished service from a sharp and friendly team of servers. Excellent. For Easter, we were given a prix fixe menu ($150 per) that provided some fine choices among appetizers, entrees and desserts. The appetizers included octopus, quail and some super tasty (and NOT overcooked) seared tuna. Delicious. The entrees included duck and chicken but all of us deferred to the tenderloin which was perfectly cooked to our preference, tender and ... well, just what we wanted. Add in the desserts and the drinks -- lots of specialty beverages. all on the pricey side -- and we were totally satisfied. Not a complaint in the group. Winvian is very private, You can't just stroll in. Reservations are necessary, and you'll need to get buzzed in. Once there, however, the well-trained staff provide first-class treatment, thoughtful and never obtrusive. It is a grand experience -- but it is expensive. Definitely for special occasions.

Keli couldn't have been more friendly; she greeted us right away and gave us all of the information we needed for our stay. The whole house is beautifully decorated, has nice amenities, and is a close walk to the quaint downtown. That caught my attention. I'm a great lover of historic buildings. This one has enjoyed several different lives, but the newest iteration opened in 2024. The owners have paid close attention to many details that show they value the history of the building - from the furniture in the multiple small dining rooms to the reproduction wallpaper on the walls. I loved the use of large candles in the fireplaces to replicate the light of a fire. Our meals were from the Prix Fixe Menu for $50 per person. I was delighted to see later that Lost Fox Inn advertises a Prix Fixe Menu on Thursdays for $60 per person. I enjoyed the Corn Chowder soup appetizer, which was different from any chowder I've ever eaten but very flavorful. My main course was Orecchiette, a delightful maitake and shiitake mushroom pasta dish that is flavored with lemon, pecorino Romano, rosemary, oregano and topped with breadcrumbs. Dessert was a chocolate mousse topped with pickled blackberry and mint. Really delicious. We booked an early dinner and were delighted to find that we were the only ones seated in our small dining room. As the hour progressed, more and more people filled the room, and interestingly each group took advantage of the restaurant week menu (many of the items are on the regular dinner menu). The wait staff was very attentive, checking in and answering questions about the menu items. I look forward to a return visit because the food was really outstanding.
