We started a new tradition, a stay-cation in Seattle the weekend after thanksgiving. This year we wanted to be closer to the tree lighting and the fireworks at Macy's. The Mayflower is right across the street from Macy's and right next to Westlake, so we booked it. Quaint, is the best way to describe this hotel. Quaint and old. Thin walls too, Oy vey, nothing worse than waking up to people humping -- loudly -- next door. Room was tiny, bathroom was very tiny. No refrigerator. No ice machine on our floor, we had to go down to the next floor, or take a quick trip down the stairs -- which meant going outside in 30F degree weather. I've read some reviews of nice views here, I wish I asked for a better view. We were directly across the street from Macy's. Our view consisted of Macy's dirty building and the homeless huddled in the alcoves. Our morning wake-up alarm consisted of the Seattle Police using the whoop whooop siren to clear the homeless encampments at dawn. Here's a kick, when we were checking out I commented that the room lacked a refrigerator and the clerk says, 'We have them, you could've asked" Next year, I'll suffer the 3 block walk to the tree lighting from the modern and up to date Hyatt. read more

I live in Seattle but during our recent 4 day heat wave, I booked a room at The Mayflower Hotel. My stay was splendid. All of the staff at the hotel and Oliver's bar were extremely nice and accommodating. Even the valet's working in 105 degree weather still had a smiles on their face. My room was very cozy and the bed was amazing! Best nights sleep I have had in awhile. Air conditioners worked great in my room and the fitness center. The food was okay. I felt for the bartender and waitress in the bar, the air conditioner was not working in Oliver's the 1st couple nights and it was at least 95 degrees in there. Because of Covid 19 restrictions they did not have breakfast options but you could pick up a "breakfast box" at the front desk for free and it had plenty to eat. They also have a mini fridge in the room so I brought a couple of things I made from home. One night I ordered the Wagu Burger, asked for MW but I got MR, also there was no dressing on the bun and I had asked specifically for Mayo and ketchup so I was disappointed. The burger was okay. Next day ordered a Turkey Sandwich and everything was perfect. I give them a pass on the burger, the bar was full and they were short staffed and working in a 95 degree room, they had too much going on! Ordered my car at 9:00 am, after checking out my car was waiting for me. It was a great stay! I highly recommend this hotel! read more

This place is old school thriving on character, service and quality. This said you go to the Mayflower for one thing only in my opinion. : COCKTAILS, COCKTAILS, COCKTAILS!!!! This Hotel does the most consistent cocktails in Seattle. Their sidecars, their white chocolate martini's even their Cosmo's are mouth wateringly great. Try their Champagne cocktails as a treat. Crisp, refreshing yet surprisingly alcoholic. Seriously, this is a great place to meet up with friends and have a quiet drink or go straight after a movie for a drink and a discussion. read more

We loved this hotel. It has a great story, and loving owners who have enhanced it's former glory. The rooms and bathrooms are on the smaller side compared to some of the larger chain hotels, but the character and class of this place more than makes up for it. The beds are comfortable, the staff are very friendly and helpful, especially the bell hops. The hotel has a classy boutique feel. The lounge downstairs is great, and the location of the hotel is within walking distance to most of downtown and directly across the street from Macy's. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back. read more

Stayed here for 3 nights from May 26-29,2013. Asked for 2 beds, was told by night person that we would be accommodated for Monday and Tuesday night, that it shouldn't be a problem. Next morning, different guy says that I have to pay an extra $60/night. There was a loud group of girls next to our room and someone called security on them. However, it didn't stop them from being loud in the middle of the night. I didn't sleep well 2 out of the 3 nights and the 1 night I was able to sleep was b/c I was dead tired. Also asked for recommendation for a late night place to grab a snack, was told that the convenience store was opened until 2am. This place was about 0.5 mile away, but when I got there, it was closed at midnight. Area was a little shady as I was asked for drugs by a couple guys. Good location though(walking distance to Pike's Place and close to tram) but the fact that I was told that I would have no issues upgrading to 2 beds and then later on told to pay $60 extra/night is wrong. The store hour could easily be mistaken as the guy probably remembered the hours wrong. I ended getting a hot dog on a night stand half a mile further. read more

I considered giving this hotel 4 starts instead of 5, but the staff was so nice and helpful that it really does deserve all 5. I felt like the amenities were good, the location was spot on, and the staff was WONDERFUL. I would definitely stay there again....and I'm glad I chose this place over an Airbnb. The hotel is smaller than some of the other hotels- and I liked that- it made it feel more cozy and intimate. They had a lovely bar and restaurant so make sure you get some good grub before you leave. read more

We decided at the last minute to go to Seattle for 4th of July & stayed here, what a delight! There is NO better location for visiting Seattle than this. The staff were wonderful & very helpful from the doormen, to concierge to front desk. The bar, Olivers, WOW, the guys pour amazing cocktails, LemonDrop martini !! The huge tip is to eat there, the menu is great, nicely priced & had one of the best burgers w/steak frys we've had. Lovely lobby w/comfy seating areas & FREE wifi in the hotel while most charge extra. So convenient to all the attractions, next door to Westlake Ctr with it's great food court & transportation hub. It's a great find, we got super rates from Expedia for this trip! Highly recommended!! read more

Great stay at the Mayflower. Our room was large and extremely comfortable. Despite being on the second floor, facing the street (Room 203), it was surprisingly quiet. Great bed and pillows. Location is perfect if utilizing the train. Right in the middle of the best shopping and restaurants and only a few blocks to the Pike Street Market. We will definitely be back. read more

This was my second time staying here at the Mayflower. They have good packages on their website so I suggest you check those out before booking. We got a package with tickets to the glass museum and valet parking. Honestly, one of the reasons I came back to this hotel was the service. Everyone there is extremely cheerful and helpful. We checked in early and they held our bags while they got our room ready. When we came back everything was ready to go for our room. We did have to get maintenance to come and help us with the new TV system they installed. He was nice about fixing it for us. Yes this is an old hotel but I find it charming and its location is right in the heart of everything. I do travel with a white noise generator so I cant say if it was loud or not. We will probably be returning here if we need to stay the night in Seattle! read more

This is a historic hotel that was renovated and it's one of my favorite hotels I've ever stayed in. The location is in downtown and is blocks away from Pike Place Market. In addition, it's connected to Westlake Center and the Light Link Rail so it was easy to arrive and leave for the SeaTac airport. I had originally booked this hotel through HotWire for $110 a night, arrived early and was able to check in much earlier than expected which was very nice. The rooms are a lot smaller than what I'm used to but for the location, it was no big deal. I'm just there to shower and have a nice sleep. The staff is wonderful! They have complimentary valet parking and everyone knows the downtown area really well. They will help with finding places to eat (concierge has tons of pamphlets and will personally call restaurants if you want something specific), find transportation, and give directions with big smiles! Although I was barely in my hotel room, everything was very neat and cozy. Small little things that I appreciated was the fact that there were large bottles of lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. The soap was much better quality than expected and they provided a shower cap. Another thing I thought was nice was the fact that they drop off a newspaper to your door each morning. The only thing I would have suggested to the hotel is to add a small fridge in the rooms, however considering the size, it might not be possible. read more

Got a fantastic deal online for the room, early checking no problem. My room wasn't huge, but very clean & comfortable, towels & linens of superior quality. Along with excellent upgraded toiletries. David H. was super friendly at the desk, & the hotel bar is off the charts in character & class. You must try the Manhattan cocktail. Matt the barman sets the perfect tone for unique experience. Never going to stay here again. I check into my room and try to go to sleep only to be jarred back to consciousnesses by a very loud clanking that is followed by a quieter series of clanks. This pattern repeats a number of times. A call to the front desk asking to be moved to a room that doesn't have that is responded to with the statement that all of their rooms do that. I guess that means that I need to figure out how to tell my corporate travel agency to never put me at this hotel again. read more

We stayed at the Mayflower Hotel on Christmas day and the 26th. The hotel had placed us on the top floor corner suite. The hotel and the room was incredible old world charm, wonderful bar and fantastic service. They made our holiday beyond special. We had our holiday dinner at the restaurant it was wonderful. The Mayflower Park Hotel was GREAT! The staff was fantastic and very helpful, they did not seem to be bothered by any of the questions I asked them. They were very friendly and helped give me some excellent advice on where to eat since I had never been to Seattle. They also gave me a free drink at the bar since it was my first time there, the bartender made excellent drinks and was very friendly to speak with. I really enjoyed the room, it was very large, had nice views and was kept clean to very high standards. The hallways were clean and well maintained. I just stayed here for the week for work and overall enjoyed my stay. The hotel is really cute, I love the old-timey vibe. That does translate somewhat into the room features being a bit old. The tile in my bathroom looked about 30 years old, and the bed was not super comfortable. Otherwise they had good TV channels, the coffee in the room was good, I got the smallest room but still had plenty of space. The best feature by far is the location! It's right in the middle of everything you need in Seattle. It's a very walkable location to all the main tourist attractions, tons of great restaurants and shopping, and the light rail if you use that to get to the airport or out of downtown. The price was really great too! I got a good deal through my company, but I think even the regular retail rate is very good for the location. I'd stay here again! read more

What a great hotel to stay at for out towners. Right in the heart of downtown Seattle. I got to play tourist without really getting lost because everything is within walking distance. You can walk to the wharf, the space needle, alll the coffee shops in the world. You can even walk to SAFECO and QWEST if you really wanted to. This hotel is on the map for being historic. It was built in the 1800's and they even have a grandfather clock in the main lobby thgat is over 200 years old. Pretty cool. Even their main lobby restroom shows that it's old because it looks like you're walking down 3 flights of stairs to a ghost encounters waiting to happen. The valet service is the best. Really helpful guys and really knowledgeable. felt sorry for them when it's super cold outside and their standing outside freezing. I got the room with 2 queen beds but it comes with bathrooms. Super cool. My wife gets one and I get one. Every hotel should take notes. The bar downstairs( ANDALUCA'S) has the best martinis which was highly recommended by people from Seattle. Shoppers beware. You even have a mall that is connected to the hotel. How cool is that? If you don't feel like driving anywhere then you can just go to the lobby and you're in like flynn. Highly recommend for tourist to check out this hotel. read more

I spent 3 nights there. -Pros 1. locate in downtown, convenient 2. front desk people very friendly -cons 1. It is a really old building. The elevator makes weird sounds and you need to wait several minutes to go up/down every time. The ventilation opening is just above the towel rack and it is very dirty. You need to be careful not to touch the opening when you take/put your towels. 2. The room service is poor. They only make the bed and update the towels, no cleaning of the bathroom at all! And one of my shoes went under the bed after the room service, it took me a long time to find it. 3. They provide the lotion/shampoo in a large bottle locked on wall, instead of small individual bottles, which is fine for me. But the problems are: however careful you press, the lotion will shoot out very far and get onto your clothes or stuffs. The shampoo bottle pumps out so little every time you press that it basically takes you 50 press to get the amount you want (for a person with long hair), also, the pump does not come up after you press, so you need to press-lift-press-lift-..... read more

We stayed last night. I love this kind of hotel. Valet service right at the front door, bellhops to help immediately, and the check-in staff at the ready. Our two rooms (one for our son and d-in-law) were ready 3 hours early, which was GREAT. We unwound for a couple of minutes in our rooms and then needed lunch. We didn't feel like walking around, so we stayed and enjoyed Oliver's restaurant right in the hotel. It was wonderful. The ambiance was pretty: it's upscale without being stuffy. I loved how the staff treated us, always making good eye contact and sincerely wanting to help us in any way possible. We had breakfast at the other restaurant this morning, and it too was surprisingly delicious. The rooms were clean, the hot water was abundant, the hallway stayed quiet all night. It was a perfect choice. Everyone else has commented on the excellent location, and I will, too. We walked to the space needle this morning, and last night had dinner at Elliott's on the waterfront. Walking is easy, and there's something interesting everywhere you look. We enjoyed walking across the street to a huge Macy's and around a corner to a huge Nordstrom. Ross is down the street; there's loads of shopping. Went to the EMP (Experience Music Project) adjacent to the space needle, and that was delightful. We were only in Seattle 24 hours, but what a great place, and the hotel certainly added to the enjoyment of the trip. Would absolutely 100% stay here again and will always recommend it. read more

I really like the older style, full service hotel for at a competitive price. I've stayed here at least ten times and never been disappointed. One week ago I was in Seattle for an internal training conference, and my company booked a room for me at this hotel. Maybe it's because I'm traveling a lot, but my experience was just OK. It's an old style hotel with some OK room that would need a bit of refreshment. When I'm out at a conference, most of the time I had to spend some time during the evening at the desk to do some work: it was the worst chair I ever had in a hotel, so uncomfortable for the back. I know we don't stay all day long in the bathroom, but it was one of the tiny "we didn't have enough space to put two beds, so we shrink the space on the bathroom" one: you know when you don't have enough space to put your own stuff. Even if the bath was long enough to have some comfortable leg space, it wouldn't hurt to give it a fresh paint job as big chunks of paint were missing. Last, but not least for the washroom, the light switch. Yes, I'm going to talk about a tiny light switch as the switch was outside of the bathroom. What's that mean? Since it's a two bed room, and that I had to share my room with a co-worker, each time he was going to the restroom during the night, I had the light in my face (and it was the same for him): never thought about putting the switch inside, so people can close the door, and open the light after so nobody will be disturbed during their sleep? Now I may look like a fussy person, but it's all those little details that make the difference between an awful, an OK or an amazing stay at a hotel! The last thing I have to talk about is about the service at the hotel. Overall it was good, except the fact that they totally forgot that our beds wall was next to a room keeping service one. All the maids where going there to take some fresh bed sheet or whatever they had to do, there were making a lot of noise. Each time they closed the door, they slammed it. Having our room next to it was a real problem in the mornings I wanted to wake-up a little later than 6-7am. Very annoying! At the end, it's far from the best hotel I stayed too, but it's a nice little place to go as it's near downtown, and not too expensive. read more

This hotel was a great price and a great find in an expensive city. They were super accommodating to my need to have a mini fridge since I am pumping so I could store milk for my 9 month old. It is perfectly located and the water is super hot. I enjoyed a bath. Oliver lounge has amazing cocktails and free food at happy hour. The parking is reasonable and they will hold your bags for you and allow you to be parked until 11 pm on the day you check out. Overall I would love to stay here again! read more

pretty nice hotel. the staff were super friendly (front desk/room service/valet ...) probably the smallest room I've ever seen in a hotel, but overall it had a very cute atmosphere. the bathroom was smaller than my own, but it's not a big deal. it is close pike place market with Nordstrom & macys right around the corner. the only thing I didn't like about the hotel is that they didn't have air conditioning in the room, I think it's because it's a older historic hotel. also, the cleaning staff needs to do a better job- I can see some of the stuff they left out to clean... but overall, I would stay here again. read more

Best location if you are staying in Seattle. Can walk to everything that is downtown or near it. Convenient to offices, restaurants on the water, and the Space Needle. Easy to get here directly from the airport on light rail without having to rent a car. Their in-house breakfast place has terrific food. In late June I went to attend a meeting at the Mayflower Park Hotel, Andaluca's restaurant. I let the hotel valet park my car. He was very nice and simply moved it down the street a bit and left it outside of the restaurant. After a while they decided to move the car to their parking garage. Once I returned and saw that the car had been moved, I asked the valet to retrieve my car. He told me they drove it to the parking garage and they would bring in back to me. Within minutes they informed me that they could not move my car forward. I ran over to the parking garage (1 block away) and met the valet who parked the car. He informed me that he had parked the car but could not move it forward. I jumped in and realized that the car had been parked in reverse and gears jammed. Nothing I could do would move the car out of reverse. The car was towed to a local mechanic who works on Saabs. He informed me that the person who parked the car hard shifted the car in reverse and broke the transmission. Once informing the hotel about the status of my car, they informed me that " Since my car was old, they do not consider the transmission fault their matter". I informed them that the car was a collectable car and had been restored, top to bottom, including transmission within 10 years. Even after that, AND talking to the mechanic, they still refuse to fix my car. I have called the hotel owner several times and she refuse to return my calls. At this time, I am in the process of taking them to court over the matter. Don't EVER attend this hotel/restaurant, especially if you or your car is old, how old?........let them decide! read more

Charming hotel with a lot of history. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. You can't beat the location either since it's right in the middle of all the major tourist destinations. I'm giving it three stars due to the need of a renovation. The furniture in the room was old and stained. Our TV was the size of a small computer monitor and was hard to see from the beds across the room. The bathroom was also rather small. read more

I'm quoting myself here: this is "a boutique hotel in all the good ways". Forget the Marriotts, Hiltons or Westins with their high price-tag for downtown accommodations-try this place! The rooms are a bit on the small side-but then did you really come for the room? The hotel feels romantic and a bit Victorian, with excellent dining in their onsite restaurants or easy walking distance to the Pikes Marketplace or any of the other delicious restaurants downtown.
