The foods ok, but the service totally SUCKS! THE RUDEST OWNERS WE'VE EVER SEEN!!!! For three times now our order to go has been WRONG. In the last three months something is always missing. The owner man gave us a credit (NOT A REFUND) after the $18 seafood molcajete was missing when we got home but they found it the next day on the counter cold in the restaurant kitchen while they said I was wrong! The owner woman was mad when my wife stopped at the door to talk to her husband and said "If my husband hears this, he's going to be so upset". Tonight on one order the tortillas were missing and so was the rice and beans. So we called and she wouldn't let us talk to the owner man. She was snide and hostile and said on the phone "You must have a problem" and "If you don't like our take out service go somewhere else". ......This is one of the reasons why other Mexican restaurants like Casa Ramos and Si Casa Flores went out of business. When you pay $40 for dinner for two, you should get what you order and they should make it right and not blame you. Make sure you check everything in the bag, otherwise the owners wife will tell you to go somewhere else! After they take your money they don't care and give you the Mexican middle finger while they say you were wrong! We weren't surprised when we saw many other negative complaints on Trip Advisor, YELP and their FB page! WERE DONE WITH THIS PLACE! read more

Whenever I am visiting my brother and his family, we go to dinner at Mazatlan's. The food is excellent, and the service is very good. They are very accommodating and can handle large crowds and little kids. I look forward to my annual visit to this place! read more

This is always my favorite place to eat Mexican in the Medford area. I have been eating here for ten years and never had a bad meal. My favorite meal is the steak fajitas which has never come burned or even overdone and has an amazing flavor with the peppers and onions still bright and crisply tender, and imho the pico de gallo that comes with the rice/beans is the best I've ever had anywhere. I was lied to and served food I'm allergic to when I was assured my meal was vegan and gluten free! It made me throw up and get allergy rashes that scarred my arms. When I confronted the manager, he was so rude! I was trying to stay kind while expressing how disgusted I was by eating a dead animal and how wrong it is for 2 servers to lie to me about ingredients and serve me food I'm allergic to. He didn't know how to help me, so he said, "What do you want me to do, kill myself?" He said it like it was a sarcastic joke, but that is so serious and unprofessional! I was made aware my meal had gluten and animal products in it 2 weeks after I had already eaten my whole meal. I just went back there tonight and that's when my server made me aware that what I ordered last time was not vegan or gluten free even though I was told it was. I was very sick the night I ate the gluten and chicken. I thought it was just because there was a lot of oil in my food. But the sickness made sense after I was aware of what I ate. I got really disgusted and sooo sick again after finding out there was a dead animal in my food because I haven't eaten an animal in over a year. I went vegan food moral and medical reasons. I have scars from the rashes I got from the gluten I ate. This place is the worst restaurant I've ever been to! Don't go there! read more

We were looking for some good Tex-Mex style food and found it here at the Mazatlan Grill. Large menu, even had some interesting vegetarian choices. Big portions, so we split a meal and it was perfect. Service was excellent; friendly, fast and very helpful. Prices are inexpensive. It was a filling and fun experience and we will be visiting the Grill again, next time we are in town. I would recommend this spot in a heart beat! read more

The staff is always friendly and no matter the size of our group whether we have brought 2 people or 17 they will seat and serve us in a timely and comfortable fashion! and the food...Oh it is sooo good! We were pleasantly surprised when we went here - much bigger on the inside than it seems on the outside. Food was good, atmosphere was nice and we had a great server. It reminded me of a Don Jose's/Rodrigo's (if you're familiar with those places). It was pretty busy on a Friday night, and we've heard nothing but good things about this place from friends. Passing through town, I stayed across the freeway at the Holiday Inn Express and was looking for dinner. Mazatlan came to my attention and we went. It's a comfortable, family friendly place in a strip mall. They have a full bar and the kitchen staff do a great job. They give you a lot of food: expect a doggie bag. I had my usual combo for the first time in a new place: relleno, enchilada and tamale with rice and beans. I like this particular plate to get a sense of how the food is cooked. In this case, the relleno was dipped in whipped eggs, which made it into an omelet of sorts, and there was a lot of cheese on everything. Good pork tamale. My wife really liked the tacos al carbon. Mazatlan was a refreshing find in south central Oregon. read more

I'm not sure what it takes to eat at a mexican restaurant that has any integrity whatsoever!!! My girlfriend and I decided to meet here for dinner. We are both vegetarian, so knowing that most mexican restaurants use some sort of animal broth in their rice and lard in their beans, we did our due diligence and inquired prior to eating at this establishment. When my friend called and asked if they had vegetarian options for their beans/rice, she was told their beans and rice were "vegan friendly." Once we arrived and are prepared to order, I decide to ask the waiter about the ingredients in the beans/rice just to verify, he states, their beans are in fact veg, but that he's almost positive the rice has chicken broth in it, he leaves to ask the chef who informs him that there is in fact chicken broth in the rice. So vegetarians avoid the rice!!! That wasn't the only issue with this experience; our waiter never once checked on us, asked us how our food was or offered a refill, which was very off putting. When we were ready to leave he was still no where to be found, so we had to grab one of the ladies that serve chips and salsa to ask for our bill. Also, the restaurant was like an ice box. We had to be moved to another table because the vent over our table was blowing straight on us causing us to shiver. When I asked the waiter if we could sit at another table due to the cold air being emitted on us, he stated yes, because "we aren't going to turn the air down for you." That was not my expectation, and his response was just RUDE. We then moved to another table, and granted there was no direct air blowing on us, but the temperature of the restaurant was freezing; it made it hard to relax and even enjoy our dinner. Absolutely, definitely, undoubtedly "must-to-visit" place in Medford/Central Point area. I would say that even if you just passing by on I-5 - take the exit and visit Mazatlan Grill. By the way - they are located 1-minute drive from the I-5, which is very convenient. Fantastic friendly atmosphere, very polite and affable staff, cozy stylish interior. I won't describe all that I tried and liked, the list will be too long. But few favorites are worth to mention. Sopa Mariscos is something unbelievably delicious, full-bodied taste, a lot of seafood, huge portion (my husband and I always order one portion to share). Burritos, enchiladas, tortilla soup, shrimp cocktail - no matter what you try, you won't be disappointed. read more

I was seated with my infant son right near the kitchen entrance which was very busy with servers running and by almost knocking in to his high chair. After explaining we were uncomfortable there, the Owner told us rudely we could get up and wait for another table after we had already ordered our food. when we arrived, the hostess seated my 5 month old and the three of us by the kitchen with heavy traffic. The owner showed up and offered for us to stand up and find us a better table. Stand up? wow... And she came back and told me she would move my 5 month old for me so she could put him some place "safer". She didn't ask if she could help me move him. Just did it without my permission. The food was ok, but my chicken tacos were supposed to come with parmesan and there wasn't a shred of parmesan on my plate. My boyfriend got the wrong tortillas to go with his dinner, and his mom didn't get the correct kind of burger, which took 25 minutes to cook. Worst restaurant experience ever! read more

The waiter we had was awful and I called to make reservations and the front desk put me on hold while she talked to her friend and then hung up on me. After we had walked to our cars the owner followed us out like he was going to get in our face saying they expect a better tip! I will never be going back. Vegans beware, I called in advance to ask if the beans, and rice were prepared with any lard or meat based broth, and was told BOTH were vegan friendly, however when my friend questioned the waiter about this, he advised us the rice is cooked using chicken bouillon. Great service, great food. I was only disappointed by their chile relleno, it was way more eggy than what I was hoping for. Instead of cream cheese or queso fresca filled chile in a batter, it was like a chedder chile in a scrambled egg mass. Everything else I've tried has been spot on and delicious.
