From the beginning, the service was excellent and the whole team was professional, respectful, and easy to work with. What really stood out to me was the way they treat their clients. You can tell they actually care, not just about the job, but about the experience. Max, the project manager, was amazing. He gave me a very calm and reassuring feeling from day one, explained every step of the process clearly, and kept everything organized and on track. That kind of communication is rare in this industry. The quality of the work came out great, and the whole process was smooth with no stress. On top of that, their pricing is very fair and reasonable for the level of work they deliver, which is something I really appreciated. At that meeting, we were told we needed to install flooring under the cabinets. After speaking with a contracting friend and two other companies, everyone said that was incorrect. This led me to doubt their professional knowledge and expertise. After the initial meeting, everything started going by the wayside. They missed appointments, were hard to get a hold of, and changed their story. We went from picking out materials to needing another appointment for the contractor to see the home. During the second appointment for measuring and seeing the home, they "measured" by measuring at an extreme angle. The contractor, in charge of demolishing our kitchen, demonstrated no knowledge in how to properly measure (it was NOT an area needing an angle to measure). That was concerning. They also didn't know the business hours of their own vendors. When we decided not to continue with FC Construction, they were honorable in giving us a refund. But when we called to remind them, the owner told us the refund was in the process. The next day, the main company line called and asked for our refund information to issue a refund. So it being "processing" was a lie. I didn't trust them to start any work, so I have no idea how their work is. But I wouldn't recommend based on the many red flags mentioned above. I was assured by both father (Greg?) and son, Brandon, that they would send me the revised estimate. Three days passed and I heard nothing from them. I called them 3 more times over the course of a week and a half and each time was assured they would send me the revised estimate ASAP. Well, y never got it. They basically strung me along and wasted my time. How unprofessional and disrespectful! If they couldn't or didn't want to do the job, why didn't they just say so? I'm really disillusioned. I wanted to use a local company, but they really let me down.

At Shirey's suggestion, we used TimberTech Azek boards and found a MAXI version in Coastline grey. We're now done except for the custom railing on order, and couldn't be happier. Lead carpenter Bryan is a deck mastermind who was great at figuring out sound, good-looking solutions to our issues. Both he and fellow carpenter Jeromy were highly skilled and efficient, left the work site immaculate at the end of every day and were also just nice to have around. We like the results so much we added fascia and new board for our catwalks to the original agreement. Shirey's inside staff -- coordinator Ashley and bookkeeper Brenda -- are equally great, and especially good at timely, clear communication. We first worked with them for a kitchen remodel in 2023 and are still blown away by the work they were able to do for us! We removed an old wall and created a kitchen island to open up our space, set up a custom coffee bar, and fully ripped out all old finishings/etc! They were able to match the old arches of our 1927 to bring the character into our modern kitchen that we love about our house. They were extremely communicative about any changes, challenges, or delays.
