Called the Triple Trouble, grilled chicken bacon burger

Located near Hillsdale Mall in San Mateo, this food spot is a hidden gem that deserves far more recognition. My father and I both ordered the hamburgers, and they were absolutely outstanding flavorful cooked to perfection. The real surprise, however, was the chili, which was rich, hearty, and packed with flavor. It paired so well with the fries that we ended up using every last bit of it. Everything we tried exceeded expectations, and the passion put into the food was evident in every bite. I would love to see this place receive the recognition it deserves because the quality is truly restaurant-worthy. If they continue serving food at this level, I can easily see them opening a full restaurant one day and becoming a favorite in the San Mateo dining scene.

I was at a health fair and saw this food truck. I had heard about this food truck from social media. When I approached the food truck I was greeted by the owner. The owner was polite and very helpful. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with fries. The fried chicken sandwich was phenomenal and cooked to perfection. The chicken was thick and juicy. The fries were cooked to perfection, seasoned well and crispy. The ambiance is customer friendly and food truck has great menu choices. If you are in San Mateo go try this food truck out and give them a follow on all social media platforms.

The guy running the truck is very nice. He was patient when I was deciding what I would like to order. He also gave me extra wings. My coworker and I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, the party wings, 8 oz chili, and the smack n cheese. Be prepared to drop $$ . The total was over $50. The food was good and very filling. My coworker and I both took our leftovers home.

Ran into MBs place at the farmers market. Chilli is bomb! Go get some if you see the truck there

Absolutely love MB's and let me tell you why. We first had their food at the San Carlos Farmers Market a couple years ago. The people working the food truck treat you like family. They are always so happy to see us and all their customers, which brightens my day. The food is made to order, but know that it's worth the wait. Today, we visited and commented we hadn't seen them in a while, so of course I doubled my usual order because I missed it. They handed me my bag and I walked away looking forward to digging in. When I finally opened the bag, I saw the extra treat of a bottled beverage. It was such a pleasant surprise and absolutely delicious. It had pear, celery, carrot and pineapple juice. I've been meaning to write a review for them for a while now because I have never had a bad experience. A must try and be patient because that food is worth the wait.

Cornbread, garlic corn on the cob, fried chicken thighs, 3 Way Chili

Stopped by Blue Ocean brewery and MB's food truck was parked outside. People were talking about the chilli so we order chilli, corn bread, fried chicken thighs, and garlic corn on the cob. Everything was so good. The fried thighs were SO delicious, just out of the fryer. Deliciously seasoned already but they gave us some house made garlic bbq sauce that was also so good. The chilli, my goodness the chilli! As yummy as folks were saying. I hope I find this food truck again!

Had the fried chicken sandwich. Well put together and tasty. Reasonably priced menu too. Note the meat is dark meat.

After watching a review on social media, I decided to try something new. I had to try the cracklin' chicken bites. I ordered the southern fried fish, added the brisket, and the collard greens. After I ordered, I went to the bar to order a gin and tonic. I asked for the Bombay Sapphire gin. Then, it turned into an unreal experience. When I got my drink, I asked the female bartender if she added lemon or lime. She gave me "the look" and said I did not ask for lemon or lime. Taken aback, I told her that I've never had a gin and tonic without lemon or lime. She then replied, "rude". I proceeded to apologize, and then she acquiesced and gave me a garnish. I thanked her and again apologized. She was having none of it. I was in a great mood because I still tipped her. However, it has been bugging me ever since July 25. Hence, my review. Back to the food. My food was delicious, flavorful, and portion sizes were great. In fact, I am taking my parents there today. However, we are going to go to the one on South of Market--just in case I want a gin and tonic. I will be sure to ask for lime this time. :)

A+ except it did take them a long time to bring the check and we had to flag the guy down to get it. Otherwise attentive and the meal was reasonably well coursed. They let us split dishes and didn't give us a bad time about it. Food... Also an A+. I'm super picky and tend to not like to venture off the beaten path for different kinds of ethnic foods but everything here that we had was delicious. We split the salad with pear and goat cheese, and except for a couple of decayed pieces of spring mix, which is always a problem with that stuff it was delicious. The dressing was crisp and citrusy. We split the jambalaya with chicken and it was interesting in that it was basically a large scoop of rice with a good sized piece of chicken on the side, which you had to cut up, which is not how I've seen jambalaya prepared before, but it worked. The chicken was insanely good, and the rice also was very delicious, heavy on the bell peppers. We also tried the beef empanadas and the chimichurri sauce was insanely good. We wanted to get beignets, but they were out and none of the other desserts appealed to me so we didn't do dessert. We ordered a French 75 cocktail and the Pinot Noir wine and both were very nice )although pro tip French 75 are supposed to have a lemon peel in them and ours didn't). There is a parking lot and they also have a few tables outside although I don't think anybody would really choose to sit there since it's in the middle of the parking lot and the plants are too low to hide that fact. My friend and I meet regularly in the Redwood City area to dine out and this place is going to go into our regular rotation because it was that good. They were probably somewhere between a four and a five but I'm going to give them the benefit of doubt and give them Five Stars because we did enjoy our meal so much. You should try it!

Menu is priced high and portions small which may be why there's not many people. We got the crawfish etoufee which is mostly roux, very little crawfish or shrimp, and very little rice. Also on flavoring. We asked for no spicy, but they put in the spicy seasoning and no salt. I had to actually put in salt from a salt shaker myself. Also got a side of mushroom jambalaya which was also supposed to be 'not spicy' but was more spicy than the crawfish etoufee. Also it was pretty dry. Service was good and they gave us 2 mini corn bread muffins which were probably the best thing there. Growing up in Houston and having visited New Orleans several times, I have had my share of creole food. If you want anything close to real deal, this is not it...
