TL;DR = Relatively clean and easy to navigate. Other than some old parking machines, it's upkeep has been reasonable. As this review was coming together in my head, it was teetering between four and five stars. It has to do with the parking structure and it's unique, split nature. It seems to be split into two halves, with a busway and drop-off zone in between. As I am a lover or simplicity and usability, this design had me asking "why?!" While I've never driven in, I like to keep my reviews detailed and balanced. It took more looking at Google Maps than I care to admit, but I think I have a better understanding now. If I am correct, it has to do with Thomas Burgin Pkwy having a section of road I personally loathe. It contains merging, splitting off, and merging again. Lanes are suddenly added or ended, and all this combined with Massachusetts drivers who think they are immortal! But I digress... There are elevators at the center of the parking structure, and these are both clean and free of the 'lovely' smells so many MBTA elevators are blessed with. While I wouldn't eat off a bench, the station is one of the cleaner ones in the system, and that includes the bathroom. While not immaculate, it's good for a train station. The station is also fairly easy to navigate, as long as you remember which side of the garage you parked on. There is one lobby, and a center platform which is elevator and escalator accessible. This station also has some relics of the past. There was a stall selling 'something' which hasn't been opened in years. The machines used to pay for parking are still around and powered on, though parking is now via an app. Things of that nature. Finally, the staff I've encountered at this station have been friendly and knowledgeable. Boston and the Metro-Boston area are not generally known for amazing subway stations. However, when it comes to cleanliness and relative ease of use, Quincy Adams is up towards the top. Aesthetically, not a work of art, but not an agglomeration of rust, disrepair, and patchwork. read more

Plenty of parking was available outside on day of my visit. As an out of towner this was my first experience using the T. A staff helped me buy my tickets. Daily flat rate for parking was very reasonable. read more

Above ground Red Line station on the Braintree branch, Quincy Adams is A-OK. The station is completely handicapped accessible with elevators from street level to the ticketing concourse and then another set from the ticketing to the train platform. There are audible and visual announcements of the next train in either direction. The station features an island platform, so the doors will open on the left side. The platform itself is above street level so there is some exposure to the cold winds but there are a number of baffles built so that it's not too bad. In day time, the station was very well lit and in good condition. No litter or graffiti that I saw. There is a very large parking deck and an outside parking lot located here, with room for over 2500 cars. As the station is located next to the Interstate, this is a great opportunity for commuters. On the minus side, there is nothing nearby for coffee or breakfast. Quincy Adams is between Braintree (outbound, the terminus for this branch) and Quincy Center (inbound). $9 a day to park. Believe that's a flat rate so doesn't matter how many hours. Been doing construction for over a year. Place is shitty, bathroom is gross. The garage is at least double the size of Braintree but will still fill up. Usually doesn't fill until around 10:30-11. The traffic getting here in the morning is always busy before 10. It's not people going into the garage, but it's still backed up because of the split. They need to make a better entrance. Constantly doing work on the garage, it's old and huge. Usually spots are blocked off so be aware. Will probably return here daily. read more

Overall good experience here. I only used it once, so I really don't have much experience to give it a solid 5 star rating. All machines seemed to be working. Lots of signs and maps for easy navigating the subways. read more

MBTA Quincy Adams Station - Train Station - Metro Stations Near Me - Quincy, Massachusetts

If you can't find parking at the Braintree T Station, Quincy Adams is a good alternative. You can avoid the traffic in Quincy, plus the garage is huge and always has parking available. Also, the station is cleaner than most other T stations and usually isn't too crowded in the morning. It is very easy to get from Route 3 to the garage and from the garage to the train. Also, you don't have to worry about walking in the rain, unless you park on the top levels of the garage, because the escalators and elevators are in covered areas. The only drawbacks are that the lower level on one side of the garage (which used to be open and made accessing the station and leaving very easy) is now closed off, and it's almost impossible to get back onto the highway from the garage some nights because of how poorly the access roads to Route 3 from Quincy are set up (and the fact that everyone in Quincy seems to want to leave town before 6 PM). Also, most of the time the escalators to the garage are not working and the elevator is very slow. read more

Coming from Providence Rhode Island, there is always the question of... how to, when we want to get to boston. The most convenient way for us is drive halfway and take the subway system from there. There's never a doubt that quincy adams is our destination for parking and subway. It is always easier to use this location as it is right off the highway and has excellent parking at a cheaper rate then others. Any subway station is assumed to be dumpy. Save your self the hassle. You can park all day for just about $8. I'd say that's a pretty good deal. read more

Some people leaving comments recently are miserable!! The parking garage/ station is under construction and has been for almost a year now and will be for the next year and half I've noticed shoring towers in locations with bad concrete so shit doesn't fall on your cars also the lighting is being upgraded in dark areas since the lights here seem to have problems. If you can find parking get here sooner it fills up by 8:30-9 so plan accordingly!! read more

I live between two stations, but I almost always head here, because you always get a seat. It's fairly clean, you can buy a drink in the station, and it's got a lot of parking, if you're into that. I'm not, so I'm happy about the covered bike parking (though the racks are really thick -- hope you have a big U lock). read more

Always love parking here when taking the Red Line. Always feel like my car is safe in the garage and never had any issues. Easy in and out of here and having the ability to pay for parking by credit card now is a life saver! Garage is always fairly clean as well as the station is usually very clean. The low rating is because getting here is always a chore. The traffic fills up in the morning on the expressway and you never know when you get off the highway if by the time you get to the garage will it be filled or not? Can't stand how they give you these dollar coins for change. Considering what they charge for some other parking places what they charge here isn't that bad but they block off a lot of spots because they seem to have a love affair with garage construction. read more

An obvious pro of the Quincy Adams station is the massive parking garage that is available for commuters. Tons of parking although that can sometimes yield significant traffic jams on the way in in the morning or, more commonly, on the way out at night. There are a total of four gated ticket dispensing/ticket accepting areas to enter or exit, and typically three will be open and ready for the peak flow of traffic. There are several parking pay stations to encourage patrons to pay on foot before returning to their cars, but as with most situations, not everyone likes to follow rules so inevitably there will be a long and painful line to exit the garage. For the mornings I need to drive partway in to Boston though, this stopped the job. read more

I lived across the street and got to admit it's nice to be able to get a seat at the second to last Mbta station. However, the lighting here is atrocious, the parking garage looks like something out of Final Destination, and you can see the structure visibly crumbling in some spots. Also, the fire alarms have been going off randomly --so odd. The bathrooms are the worst I've ever seen, though I appreciate that they have them out here. Great parking but read my caution. The garage is in fairly good repair. In my opinion it is more convenient than most for traversing and maneuvering inside, and for walking from/to your car, etc. I've never been turned away, even arriving late morning. Watch your credit card statement for errors! I read another review saying you have to be careful when using a credit card for MBTA parking, and so I started hanging onto paper receipts when I can get them (often, the payment machines here are out of receipt paper). Sure enough, a $7.00 receipt on paper showed up on my bill as $18.00. The concession holder is Republic Parking. read more

I am SHOCKED at the decent reviews for this disgusting excuse for a T station. If you are looking for convenience in terms of number of parking spots and access to the Red Line, then Quincy Adams is convenient for that. If you are frozen out of Braintree you can usually find a spot here and the access to Boston is easy. There are two places to access parking at the station. The first area is the massive garage that is accessed through an express type lane from Route 3. The second parking area is the front of the station that faces Lowes on the Burgin Parkway. You cannot access one from the other which is INSANE. You can use the Pay by Phone app to pay for your parking in the front lot only and the garage payments are collected in the lobby of the T station upon exit. So take your ticket with you. The garage is dimly lit and you are apt to find beer bottles and cigarette butts all along the stairwells along with deep, dirty puddles and broken concrete. It's like a horror movie. Most recently I parked here knowing that I would be getting dropped off at night instead of taking the T back to Quincy Adams. The ridiculousness in how the varying access points of the garage and proximity to the pick up/drop off are also like a horror movie. My friend waited for me in the front lot while I paid for my parking and took the stairwell with someone else up to the garage to my car. Once in my car, I wound around to the lowest possible level (since the lowest of levels was blocked off from the garage by a chain) and exited the garage. The exit winds you back down to earth and spits you out on to the highway ramp. So, not only can you not access the front of the station from the garage, you can't even get back to Quincy if you wanted to or to 93 North without getting off at the Washington St. exit in Braintree and getting back onto Route 3. There are no signs for this. Nothing. It's a good thing I know the area. So while one friend of mine is in the car with me traveling to Braintree, our other friend is in the car waiting for us back at Quincy Adams in the front of the lot. As you pull into the front of the lot, the garage entrance is visible but blocked off. Why? It's as if they are intentionally trapping people inside. Is there a Barney's in the garage trying to catch shoplifters? What is this? Seems like they are more concerned about losing 7 bucks a car rather than the safety of it's users and the bad publicity that follows. I suppose I cannot complain about the cleanliness of the station's platform since when I am waiting for the train, my only concern is that it shows up and takes me to Boston. The Quincy Adams station recently implemented a new card reader for parking at street level. The day they went live, the equipment hadn't been activated yet, so when I pulled into the lot there was no way to get a ticket. When I went to leave, as usual, there were no MBTA workers anywhere to be found. After figuring out there was an intercom system on the payment machines (if you had a ticket), I was instructed to go to the 2nd floor to get one. After walking around in the dark for more than 30 minutes ( there is no signage anywhere), I went back to my car and in an effort to try and go back to the first floor, I stumbled upon the guard station. After giving cash to a sketchy individual, I was told my only way to exit the station was off the 2nd floor ( there is no way to go back to the 1st floor). I don't know who came up with the way to leave, but there are multiple ramps with no clear direction on where to go (and at night you have no idea where the ramps are taking you). The guard told me the only way to get back to the 1st floor was to take the ramp on the right, then the 1st two lefts. This took me onto the highway!! Horrible, horrible, horrible station. Folks jump the turnstiles in the AM and sneak in at night as people are exiting through the doors. Last year they removed the ability to pay by cash or credit card if you were parking on the 1st level and now you can only pay if you have a smart phone (fyi - not all of us do). So if you are using this station be prepared to pay $7 for lackluster parking, be aware there are no employees around and watch people take advantage of not paying their fares. read more
