These guys are the real deal. After leading them on for 5 months, they answered every message, understood my situation and always said, with no pressure, "When you are ready and you need us, we'll be there usually the next day." Well they went above and beyond that statement. Once I cleared out enough space so you could turn around in the garage, I gave them a ring and they were there the next morning ready to go. But oh no I'd measured it wrong so they had to get a different door and wouldn't be able to get back til Mon. My fault no biggie, but I had messed up the door even more than when my daughter drove through it on thanksgiving, how could I protect it from cats, rats and coyotes? They actually helped me seal it back up so nothing could get in, unbelievable. Then about two hours later, they called back, on a Friday afternoon mind you, and said they'd found a new door and they could rush it and get it installed right away. Then came the but... but, it's a slightly more expensive door than the one we had in our estimate... oh the old upsell, Nice right? Wrong. Another but.... but since you've been waiting so long, and we couldn't get your door installed on the day we said we would, we will just forget about it and stick with the original estimate. I said Huh? What? They were back at my house in 40 mins with the right size better door at no extra charge because of my mistakes? WTF? Yup. Great, friendly servicemen, owner came to check everything was right and done strongly and by the book, charged me just what he'd estimated last Thanksgiving, cleaned everything up perfectly, programmed the remotes for me and finished the entire job just as the sun was going down. The new door and motor are so quiet you can't even hear them at all inside the house, the tracks have twice as many braces so they are solid as a rock and don't move a mm as the door goes up and down, our old door sounded light a freight train going through our living room. I checked all the safety features so the door doesn't crush anything that might be in its way, all perfect. Friendly, smart, hardworking clean knowledgeable crew, great owner who would be the kind of guy you'd like to have a burger and a beer with, just absolutely no BS in any part of the entire process and bent over backwards to make their customer happy. Outfits like this are hard to find, I would recommend them with confidence to anyone looking for a new garage door installed right and carefully that you can count on will do what they promise. I want to share my experiences with Matt: my garage door and opener are relatively new, about 4 years old. Recently the door behaves weird as it opens itself once a while. I called Matt for an appointment the 2nd day with a window of 8:30-10:30am but he showed up around 11am without even calling with an ETA. After arrival and listened to my description, he said he never saw this issue before and he quickly concluded it was the Liftmaster door opener's circuits might be gone bad inside, and this model is known for not being a good model, and he offered to replace it with a new one close to $1200. He also played around the door opener, and the opener control panel, and messed them up. I was able to open/close the door with control panel before but now it does not work any more! He showed me how to manually open/close the door by climbing a ladder to push buttons on the door opener. When I asked him to get back to the mode before he said he can not, and I have to replace the door opener, or call Liftmaster customer service. He left within half hour but he did waive the $89 fee given he messed up the control panel. I called another garage door repair guy in Sunnyvale, he listened to my description and he told me over the phone it 90% was due to the control panel malfunction. He came in within half hour and replaced the control panel which costs less than $150, and the door works like a charm. When I asked him regarding the door opener model and quality, he said it was a good product with good quality. To me, the experience is night and day. read more

On the day of installation, they worked with our schedule, and their workers did a fabulous job of installing a new garage door. We were initially going to have Overhead Doors (the company who installed our garage years ago) come out and fix a broken spring on our garage. When I called this morning, the only next available appt they had was a week away. Having a broken garage is so troublesome that waiting for a week isn't really an option for us. Summary: Matthew was super responsive and competent in fixing my garage door with broken spring, and came after 9pm same day to have it repair. On the other side, I was not happy with how he pressured and insulted his customer when we declined his initial overpriced quote for additional replacement of drums and rollers that he suggested to replace, and we ended up paying $80 more (compared to other quote from equally reputable garage service in the bay area which I got the next day). So if you want an urgent repair and willing to pay for some extra or feels okay with some intimidation and insult for price negotiation, this is a good choice. More details: The positive side: Our garage door stopped working on a thursday evening, after some basic troubleshooting to no avail, i realized the one of the coiled spring was broken into half and needed replacement. I quoted a few garage repair service through Yelp, Matt was the first to reply and said he could come same evening for $250 to replace both springs, the price seem fair compared to other quotes I got (ranging $220-$270), so I asked Matt to have it fixed. He arrived very soon with his 2 kids (they are cute and polite!) apprently after they had a family dinner. He did the work quickly, had both springs replaced and my garage door was working great again! I'm very appreciative of him coming at night time and the quality repair. Yay!! if that's the whole story, this would be another 5-star for him, but unfortunately here's second half of how the evening unfolded. The unpleasant part: upon inspection, Matt told me the drums and rollers need replacement otherwise they might break at some point, and he said usually that would be ~$400 extra (WTF!! was my reaction) but he could do it for $225 extra, so in total for $475, which is a big discount. Since I know nothing about garage, I told him I wanted to do some research online before agreeing on the additional work and price (context: i recently got scammed by a car dealer and paid at least $300 extra for a brake replacement because I just trusted that guy on the spot so I'm being cautious for stuff I don't know). Matt became visibly annoyed after I declined his offer and started yelling at his kids and told me I have 10 minutes to decide. So I checked online, luckily I found an article where someone replaced springs and drums and rollers in 2017 and had a quote for a total of $350. I would be okay if Matt was quoting me $350-$400 since the price might be higher for bay area or parts or inflation, but for $475 after a "huge discount", no way I could justify that. So I told him what I found and declined the replacement of drums and rollers and just stick with original plan of replacing strings for $250. Now he's angry, he started to calling me insulting him by suggesting he's not honest (which I've never stated), that "your cheapness would cost you more in the future" and that he could sue me for a late fee because of california law. I told him that's not how he should treat his customer and I felt insulted too and either he carries on the work for $250 and he could stop and sue me for the late night fee (which I'm 100% sure for the bluffing). Then he said he's not going to sue and will replace the string but was pretty grumpy. 5 minutes later, he said he could do everything for $400. I thought the price was in an acceptable range compare to what I found online so I agreed. Then the story moved on to happy ending, the garage door was fixed with new parts, he was happy to get the business , became super friendly and gave some tips on maintenance and asked me for a yelp review. I was glad that I avoided being overcharged. But in hindsight, I probably should have declined his additional service anyway because of his rudeness and how he insulted his customer even though that means I might pay extra for another repair of drums and rollers down the road. The next day, I quoted for the whole set from another reputable garage service man on yelp and I got a quote for $320 for everything. (PM me if you would like to know the name of that business) In the end, I thank Matt for his service and repairing my garage door on a late evening but for other people who's getting a similar issue in the future I hope at least this review can help you avoid any unpleasant disputes and at least you know what you should expect. read more
