Highly recommend Silicon Valley Overhead Doors. A few weeks ago, we heard a big "crack". The garage door still worked, but we saw that the coil had snapped in two. We called and someone came out the next day. The coil was fixed and we also replaced the ripped insulation/rubber at the bottom of the garage door that keeps out the rodents and debris. Service was prompt, efficient, and reasonably priced. And unlike some other service providers, they don't ask you to post a review for them, which I find annoying. The guy who came out did a whole song and dance -- making frowning faces and sighing, giving vague explanations about what was wrong with it, calling his manager to talk it over -- and he said the whole door would have to be replaced for $2500. Vic installed our new garage door and motor more than 5 years ago. We particularly love the Lift Master motor, which includes an app that lets me use my phone to open/close the garage door from anywhere. I use this feature all the time. I've been hearing a clicking sound when the door goes down, so yesterday I called Vic to come look at it. He responded immediately, scheduled a time today (less than 24 hours from my initial contact), and showed up on time. They came out with only a day's notice and swapped out the old torsion spring for a new one within a couple hours and my garage door was back working again. I called and talked to Vic, explained that the garage door comes down hard, and also seemed like springs are a noisy. He said he would come by right away to take a look at. He arrived within 10 minutes. He looked at springs, and explained just need to spray with garage door lubricant. He lifted the door and said to check for balance and said it was fine. Vic made an adjustment on the garage door opener and after a few attempts, the door would close quietly! He spent the time to explain things to me and what could happen in future. All in all probably spent around 30 minutes with me, and when he was done, I asked him how much for the time. He said no charge. I was surprised and asked if he was sure? Vic said yes, no charge. I really appreciated his skill and knowledge to assist me. I figured that I would have paid him for his time to come out and check and make adjustments, but Vic was very kind and said it was his pleasure. I called Silicon Valley Overhead Doors to get a service call on my 3 garage doors. My neighbor's purchased 2 doors and garage door units. I called and left a message on Sunday (6/26/2022) and they called me on Monday (6/27/2022) and said they can be there in 20 minutes! Vic came out and serviced all the doors.
