Normally this location is clean and doing good. Yesterday 2/8/26 was going well and when getting ready to leave I went to place a to go order when I was stopped in my tracks as the Manager was behind the soda fountain getting onto the 3 girls working out front about "NOT LISTENING TO HIM" I was shocked because first of all that's so unprofessional. I have been in Management all my life and I don't feel that reprimanding should be around the customer area but for the office. The girls were very apologetic and I told them it's not your fault he's unprofessional, as I ask is that your manager? Yes, they said and I placed my order as they let him know I wasn't happy about the way he handled the issue and let me tell you, the volume of his voice was much louder as I was almost back to the table only a few seats from the front door and I hear him!! I have been a Manager for 10 years and no one has ever said I was unprofessional. Well, now you really proved that you're obviously not professional when handling a complaint about yourself at least ‍ I just thought someone might like to know this because I wouldn't work for anyone that was chewing my butt in a customer area........ P.S. The ice shoot on the soda machine is starting to get mold on it and you might want to clean it before the health department sees it! The young lady that took my order was very polite and patient. There were tvs that you can watch sports. The place was quiet and clean. The food was great. I ordered combo of steak sandwich and a potato. It was very filling. The Au jus was excellent and complimented the sandwich well. The potato was excellent. I definitely would recommend. read more

I also spoke with the manager that night and they were supposed to refund part of my order. They did not. This place is obviously in trouble. McAlister's has the BEST baked potatoes and they are huge. The skin is crispy and tasty. The inside fluffy yumminess. My husband got the roast beef spud with corned beef and I got the pick two. Half the veggie sandwich and 1/2 a veggie spud w/o cheese. The 2 for deal is only $10.99. That is less expensive than fast food and so much better. Service is great. First time coming to a McAlisters, just getting a drink while my daughter is at the dentist next door. Writing this review from the dining room. Menu has different drinks listed at different prices. Iced tea? $2.99 Lemonade? $3.99 Lemonade tea? $3.29 Ordered a lemonade tea. And got charged for lemonade. Asked associate why the price was different. Her response was that they are supposed to ring all the drinks up as that, since the lemonade is more expensive. When I asked about it more, she just said, "you'd have to ask someone higher up than me". Store seems clean and quiet. Menu looks like it has some good options, but this experience isn't a great introduction. A 25% billing error and poor service isn't a way to encourage future business. read more

I have eaten at many McAlisters, first time at this location. I ordered the veggie spud with chili. I have had this spud countless times. This is the first time the vegetables on top were Not cooked! Raw onion and raw broccoli are you kidding? I said something to the hostess and she has it remade, but only the broccoli was steamed. The vegetables have always been sautéed when ordering this on the past. Onions etc were still raw. I scraped it off and ate the potato part so I could leave. Very disappointing. read more

At around 4 pm on a Sunday, this deli was busy, though more take-out than dine-in. Staff taking orders was very pleasant. Our wait for food was reasonable considering the crowd. However our salad, the Chicken & Avocado salad, had only one small glob (messy) of BROWN avocado. Menu photo shows a green half avocado nicely sliced. We got the opposite. Also ordered (half) SpudMax, which is supposed to have Ham, turkey, bacon, cheddar-jack, green onion, black olives and sour cream. After being at the park for the day, we were hungry and just wanted to pick up something quick and easy. Since we were near the bluffs, we decided to place an order online for pickup. They have the option for pick-up curbside or pick-up inside. I opted for the inside pick-up just because I have not had much luck with curbside lately. About 10 minutes after placing the order, I walked inside and my order was placed on the to-go shelf. This was a contactless pick up and went really well. Everything we ordered was in the bag and our meals tasted great. The salads were fresh and I am such a fan of their savannah chicken salad; so I enjoyed every single bite. This has become one of our go-to places when with our extended family. The variety of choices as well as the quality of the product is always good. Wasn't always that way. Once we came by a few years back and the sides didn't taste the same. Mentioned it to the Manager and he said thanks for the feedback. They had tried a new supplier trying to save costs and there was so much negative feedback they were going back to their original supplier once things needed to be reordered. Nice to see a business admit an error and take feedback and work to get things right. We try to avoid main rush hours to get prompt service. The place is always clean and bright. Food is between 3.5 and 4 stars, BUT customer service was excellent! I had the Italian sandwich which has delicious meat and it is one of the few sandwiches I have been happy with the amount of meat. I got Mac a d cheese as a side and it was just ok, the noodles were too soft and the cheese was decent but not memorable. There were multiple tables that needed bussing, so I don't love that, but the food was decent and the service great, I will be back! read more

One of the nicest locations I've been in, for sure. Everything was decorated nicely, and even for as busy as it was the place was really clean & organized. I got the BLT with avocado (I've never ordered a BLT in my life, I felt like branching out) and it was DELICIOUS. Didn't touch my side salad, bc how could I after a sandwich that good. The salad looked bleak to say the least after a sandwich like that. The toast was on point, the bacon piled high (could have used better quality bacon tho, they use Oscar Mayer pre-cooked paper thin pieces so they lose a star bc it's an $8 sandwich at lunchtime & that's the meat I get?!) and the avocado was fresh, creamy, and generously applied. If overpriced, stale, flavorless food is your preference, this place is right up your alley. Was looking forward to a French dip but was met by dries out roast beef that barely amounted to enough to cover the bun (my picture shows the meat after I discarded 1/3 of the bread). The meat had a shiny pink sheen that indicates its old (as did the flavor). The portions of the sides was paltry with the small containers less than half full (Mac and cheese and potato salad). If you must eat here, stick to the potatoes and tea I guess. Don't be like me and waste $9.29 (x2) for subpar food. I believe this location is just particularly bad. read more

I ordered online a toasted turkey and cheese kids meal, w/a lemonade. My receipt stated that it would be done at 1:22pm. I got there in plenty of time. I was on my lunch break. Once I got there, I just got told were short handed, I get it. I'm short staffed as well in my company, so I ordered so I could do a quick pick up and get back to work. I stood there for 25 min, asking about my order. Was just told were short staffed. The front gentleman was up there by himself. One blonde girl, (looked new) was just trying to make it thru the register to place an order for a customer. Noone there to direct her. There was a employee that was wandering around, think she came from the restroom. As she was walking by me and a couple other customers, you couldn't help but see her jeans, were completely ripped out in the crouch and down her inner thighs. Dirty hair, dirty jeans, not helpful at all. I get that they are short staffed, my company is as well. But there was not presence of a manager in the South County (Lemay Ferry/Lindberg) location. I took the meal. But I trashed it once I got back to work. I did not want to take the chance of it being mishandled. Hygiene needs to be spoken to at that location, a manager on site to show new hires how to run the register, other employees assist the front. No team work just the rolling of eyes when someone asked where their order is. Definitely will not be going back to that location. Sad..cause its in the same plaza as my job. read more

Now I have not gone to Gravois Bluffs location in quite a while because they've had issues during Covid and were closed in the evening. I like the French dip and I've never had a problem except this time the meat was so tough I pretty much pulled over half the meat off just to be able to eat the sandwich. I've never had anything here I wouldn't order again. One downfall is how long it takes to get through the line to order...then the wait for your order. Today I was the only person there (which makes you think they would get my order correct). I ordered a french dip with peppers, onions, and mac n cheese. When I ordered I kindly asked that they make sure to include ajus, because none came with my meal last time. The young man assured me they would. I got home and, of course, no ajus. There were only 2 tiny shriveled slices of pepper, and only 3 pieces of onion. To top it all off, the mac n cheese was only filled 1/3rd of the way where the bottom of the cup wasn't even covered.. I assume they were done with the lunch rush and threw my meal together with whatever leftovers they had, rather than preparing food. I called back and spoke with a young woman who told me she would transfer me to the manager.. 10 minutes went by and I hung up. I will never order from this location again. I ordered food to-go here for my gf and I. When I got home, I noticed that they didn't have what I ordered in the bag at all. I live 35min away, so wasn't able to come back in time before close. I called 5x and finally someone was able to assist me, they told me they couldn't send a gift card or put it back to my card because I paid cash. She said for instances like these, they will put my name in a book that they keep in their office. When I come back, I will get a free meal based off what they didn't give me. Not bad at all! After hearing my coworkers rave about it endlessly, I knew I had to try out McAlister's for myself. I walked in and was surprised at the layout. It looked like a sit down restaurant. Like Applebee's or something. *shudder* I walked to the front counter and placed my order: the Spicy Southwest Chicken Griller (sliced grilled chicken breast with guacamole, fire roasted corn and poblano pepper relish, pepper jack cheese, and chipotle ranch on a ciabatta roll). I don't know what got into me, because I don't eat anyone's mac and cheese except for my mom's, but I chose mac and cheese as my side. The food came out pretty quickly, and I was on my way. First things first: I sampled the macaroni and cheese. It was creamy, which was no surprise (is baked macaroni and cheese mostly a soul food/southern way of cooking? Because that's what I prefer, and no one does it that way except for my mom and Sweetie Pies! Boo.). But it was actually not half bad! Next -- the sandwich. The ciabatta roll was soft and delicious, and the sandwich as a whole was very good. Super flavorful and fresh-tasting. All in all, I'd probably come back to McAlister's. If I had to pick a chain sandwich place to visit, I'd definitely choose McAlister's over someplace like BreadCo. read more

Counter service lacked a sense of urgency. One person was doing most of the order taking while another gal puttered around (with the exception of taking one order). The person that appeared to be the manager was doing paperwork, according to my spouse that was with me. I saw her delivering food at one point, although there was also a young man doing the same. They just didn't seem organized or on their game. My spud ole with veggie chili was served hot. My husband said his roast beef was good but the carrots on top were raw. It was like they took the salad carrots and put it on the roast beef, according to him. The gal that delivered the food was pleasant. No one offered tea refills, however. My husband went to the counter for more tea. Overall, we have had much better service at this same restaurant previously. read more
