My husband and I eat at the McAllisters in Owosso, Michigan. Foods always good, place is always clean, staff is always friendly. Just lately though when we've eaten there, always at dinner time around 6:00, we've been made to eat in one little section. They've already cleaned the other half. They don't close til 9 or 10 so it seems kind of early to be mopping floors and closing off half the restaurant. Saturday March 14, 2026 4pm ish... Went despite negative reviews and previous experience at the Flint McAllisters. Asked what the difference between the nachos basket being gluten free and the other 2 nachos NOT being gluten free. The counter person had no idea and consulted with a cook. The response to me was the cheese in the other 2 nachos was not gluten free...but the SAME cheese they use in the nachos basket was. So at that point I can have NO faith in any employee or manager (they don't show their face just send the employee back out to deal with it). So I changed my order to a half gluten free McAllisters club sandwich and half chef salad. When the food came the bread on the half sandwich wasnt much bigger than the 2 oz souffle cup the dressing came in. On top of the salad we're croutons. So I asked the counter person why there are croutons on the salad when I asked for gluten free food. She said they are not allowed to "take anything off the food unless told by customer." So since the counter help isnt helpful for anything other than pushing a button and not knowing the menu well enough to be useful they might as well install kiosks to order from. When leaving i asked the counter help for the corporate office she said she didnt know and went to consult with 2 managers (who never once came out to see what was wrong) and came back to say that both managers said they dont have a corporate number. I took out my phone and found the number in 2 seconds. VERY disappointed in everything the Flint McAllisters has to offer. Good food, decent portion sizes, average prices considering the local competition.. We stopped in for a quick lunch and the food was fresh and filling. The service was good, both prompt and courteous. The menu options were varied and had a decent selection of vegetarian options for a deli. As a non carnivore, I was pleased. The bread on my sandwich was so good, I didn't want to waste any of it, hehe. My sandwich was tasty.. portions of the sides could be larger, but it's ok.. the potato salad is delicious.. It's one of the better sandwich shops/fast casual restaurants in the local area. I'd definitely stop in again and I have no hesitation in recommending it to friends. read more

I love this place. It is so nice, bright and clean inside. The ice tea s like a hug in a glass. And sandwiches and baked potatoes were so warm and fresh, they made me blush. From the second you walk in the door the food smells amazing and the cleanliness of the restaurant is very welcoming. I met the manager Melanie as I ordered the southwest salad this morning. That's my fav because it's huge and that chili lime dressing is so good. Seriously, the portion sizes are very generous. It's the friendly service and consistency of food that keeps me coming back. Melanie and her team have made visits to the Miller Road location much more pleasant. It's clear they like their work and care about delivering a quality experience. I ordered takeout online . Very simple and fast. I placed a large order and it was ready when I arrived. All items correct and the entrees were very flavorful. I was surprised that the macaroni and cheese and potato salad were also good! Those sides are usually hit or miss. The salad was my absolute favorite . The toppings were plentiful and the dressing so tasty. Lastly, the gallon of peach lemonade was great. I wish it had more peach, but overall it exceeded my expectations. read more

I ordered a Turkey wrap. It was so hard I thought it had paper in it. It was just how hard and stale the wrap was. I couldn't even eat it. I also ordered a Turkey grill cheese melt for my daughter. Even more gross , no Turkey was even in the grilled cheese , bread was extremely stale , sandwich was ice cold. They didn't even put the cookie that was supposed to come in kids meal. I ordered ultimate nachos through door dash I received dry nacho chips with a side of avocado & jalapeños obviously couldn't eat it called door dash I paid $27 for delivery fees product ect they would only refund 13 so I called McAllister to see if they would make it right because it was due to their employees negligence. Now I did receive a tea No straw but I did get the tea. I said I would be okay with a remake to off set my cost and was not nasty about it at all. The girl I talked to was very nicely mannered spoke with her boss who said no. I told them if they couldn't make it right for me I would not be back and still it was not worth their time to correct the issue. Now I personally as a manager would have just remade it to make my customer happy & not loose their business but this manager would prefer to hold their ground... good for you. I have been going there roughly once per week for I don't know 5 ish months spending anywhere from $12-25 when I go. So u have lost roughly 1200 per year from me over something that cost u 2.00 to make. I love their food but do not order for delivery from them. You will not get your order. Two times in the last month I have ordered, I received a text stating the delivery driver was approaching but never arrived. No order received. I contact McAlister's, they said I had to contact Door Dash, Door Dash said I had to contact McAlister's. Back and forth, back and forth. This place is a joke. A (very small) sandwich, a side salad and a drink. $17!! I wish I would have taken a picture of the sandwich, it was so sad it was actually hilarious. It came on a croissant, and the croissant was as big as if you went and bought a roll of Great Value croissants, rolled up one tiny triangle & cooked it, then put possibly a half ounce of meat on it. Went in for the first time and we had the Memphian sandwich and she had the custom spud. Spuds are very large and quite a bang for your buck. Ordered online and when I got there Keisha claimed there was no order, Keisha could barely bother herself with looking for order. I placed the order again and waited, I called and ordered online bcuz I was in a time crunch. I got my new order and about 15 mins later noticed that I was charged for both orders. I GO BACK to the deli only to be told they can't do anything about it until later so they could figure it out because they didn't have my order. No order but u deduct it from my account. ordered a pick up for 6 pm. 20 minutes later and a whole bunch of attitude we did not get our food. we were obviously upset because we needed to get back on the road. the employee was rolling at her eyes at us, yelling at us, and telling us "f**k you", blaming the kitchen by saying "it's not my fault it's theirs". the manager eventually came out and was very polite. she explained that they are short staffed which i understand completely working in food service myself. if the first girl would've told me that in the beginning in a polite way i would have not had an issue at all! but very frustrating because i love the food. please fix this issue. short staffed is not fun but having professional employees is important to a business. read more
