This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at any type of restaurant. I had never tried this place so my friends and I decided to go on a Saturday afternoon. We arrived at 4:55 and found out that they closed at 5? On a Saturday night? That's one way to run a business. After we were told that they close in 5 minutes the lady who told us said we could come in but we heard the cook say he was about to turn the oven off and so she said ok just do it. After that, she lied to us and said he had already turned it off but I have fucking ears and could hear him say the oven was ABOUT to be turned off. Yes I am fully aware it is annoying when customers walk in 5 minutes before closing but why do they close at 5? The way we were turned away was so rude and inconsiderate AND IT WASNT EVEN 5 O CLOCK YET! Overall my first experience at McAllistars was pretty trash so I will not be going back due to the poor customer service and awful business hours. read more

This place looks and feels like a chain sandwich restaurant. I would classify it as above subway and schlotzky's but below a real deli or small independent shop. If you are in georgetown and want a sandwich though these guys are a good consistent place to go. The added bonus of online ordering makes it a great fast evening meal. Be warned that online orders might be made when you order them but then when you go to pick it up they don't acknowledge you until the foods cold. read more

I don't remember Mcallisters being this great! Went here with my daughters basketball team while traveling for a tournament and ended up going back three times during weekend because it was so great! Love their sweet tea! Pastas were awesome as were sandwiches. And of course I had to get a potato and it was equally impressive! Will definitely search out my local Mcallisters deli. read more

Okay, Lilly, so you donate the tips to charity. That is still not the point of a tip. People generally CHOOSE which charity they donate to, and in this case the customer does not get to choose, nor does the employee. If I knew, for instance, that the McAlister Charity of the Day was Planned Parenthood, I would never darken your doorstep again. Maybe prior to ever coming to your establishment I need to call and see who the tips are being donated to ...but that's a lot of trouble and I doubt the person answering the phone even KNOWS the answer. I stick to my main objection...tips are meant to reward EXTRA good service or punish/motivate to improve upon EXTRA horrible service. And you can say the employees "voluntarily" "donate" "their" "tips" but that's just a ruse. Hoax, Facade. Which makes me wonder if your employees are members of a union, which would be another great reason for me not to frequent your establishment. read more

Picked up soup, was water - called manager - blew me off - said maybe if I come in again mention her name - KATIE - normally this is a GREAT place, but they need new managers - bought this for my 83 year old mother - now have to go buy her something else -told Katie this - started talking to other people and blew me off - had to call back. Random thoughts about my dinning experience. I spent too long waiting to be acknowledged (about 3 minutes); 5 customers all eating quietly; with nobody in front of me to order; 3 employees at the counter all turned away from the front counter; no hello or other greeting; 9 employees in the place all doing remedial work: the Diet Coke was flat at McAllister's Deli. Worst of it was their electronic registers doesn't display anything to the customer (not unusual) but, I had to ask for a receipt after my change was given. I've always liked McAlister's. I don't know why the ratings here are so low; I read them all. I don't see what they are talking about. It's pretty much like any other McAlister's. Yeah, there are teenage/college workers. Yeah, it's a deli. No, they weren't rude to us or slow. It's not fast food. They cook it when you order it. Ha! Anyway, I usually order either the reuben with potato salad (it's mustard-based) and sweet tea. If I'm feeling hungrier, I order the Big Nasty with potato salad and sweet tea. Either way, I'm definitely getting the potato salad. It's the reason I go to McAlister's. I don't know how people do it in Texas (especially this area), but this potato salad is manna from heaven where I come from, the Southeast. I will always be returning to the McAlister's nearest me. read more

We love it here. They have great and delicious food at reasonable prices. The kids meals are always .99 cents and that is amazing (especially in this town). The ONLY reason I am giving them 3 stars is because on multiple occasions we have noticed rude employees. I mean they're mostly high school kids so I get it but seriously, don't tarnish the delicious bites with your bad attitudes. read more

I nearly always get the Orange Cranberry Club and am never disappointed. The unsweetened tea is great plus the size is huge and refillable.

We've been there twice and both times we've had disappointing experiences. The first time my soup came out cold. When I sent it back I received some strange looks from the staff. It came back...cold again! I brought it back again. It came back luke warm. I gave up. I was tired of their staff looking at me like I was crazy. I even had my husband try it to make sure it wasn't just me. We tried doing take out from them tonight. We ordered online. It said to pick up at 8:03pm. My husband gets there and the foods been sitting out for about an hour. The staff accused my husband of not coming on time - then he pointed out the receipt stated pick up time at 8:03pm. The girl went to talk to the manager (who never came out to speak with him). She then offered to have the food reheated. When my husband went to leave with our food she said to him, "Next time you'll know better." Better than what? Better than coming at the time YOU told us to come? This is so disappointing because we like the menu options at McAlister's Deli. We just don't like the way the staff treats their customers. I mean - not even an apology for the timing problem? Just a begrudged offer to re-heat the food that had been sitting out for an hour. read more

I am very upset with our service tonight. We walked in and it was freezing. Multiple couples got there food to go and 1 walked out. It was ridiculous! I complained to the manager and she said she isn't authorized to turn it up..... If you aren't, than who is?????! Do everything you can for the customer doesn't apply to this location! Friday my company called in a order and when i went to pick it up Cameron the order pick-up gentleman explained to me that the order didn't go through their system. without hesitation he jumped on the order and took care of it himself. Overpriced, bland sandwiches. I got the roast beef with horseradish, the meat was full of fat and one side of the sandwich had all of the sauce leaving the other side flavorless. I've had better at Arby's...and I hate Arby's. Insult to injury - they didn't even include the sides in our to-go order which we didn't notice until half way to our next destination. So, I don't know why I decided to return to this location, but thought i'd give them another try since my kids happen to love the mac n cheese and I enjoy supporting businesses in our local community. Well, I think they have also had a change of heart after our last visit. They definitely said they noticed a change in the quality of the dish. I myself was served my food on a dirty plate and the salt/pepper shakers were so disgusting that I had to give my kids a lesson on why it's important to wash their hands, but wouldn't even matter if they returned only to use the salt/pepper on the table! We also had an employee who walked by us, only to ask the lady sitting next to us if she was doing ok. I have decided not to spend another penny in this place, and i'm saddened at the fact that the owner wouldn't take more care and concern of the overall establishment, to ensure when people come to visit the beautiful town of Georgetown and the Wolf Ranch shopping center, that they can expect the same quality and service they have come to know and expect from McAlister's. read more

Frequent customer. Love all their options and friendly service. Everyone always wants to help out. Everything comes out quick and right. Turkey sandwich was excellent and served quickly despite a large crowd. Hopefully management will realize how loud their music is and will take appropriate measures. Music should be in the background which allow conversation. We will not be back unless music is lowered. read more

I have eaten at this deli many times and never, ever had a problem of any kind, such as the ones I read in other reviews. The service has always been just fine, and the food has always ben great. My mother comes to visit me from out of state, and we always have to make at least one trip to McAlister's cause she loves them. I would recommend them to any of my friends or family. read more

They are nothing if not consistent. This is about our fifth time here and will be our last. We ordered and we the second person in line. There was no one else waiting for food as we beat the crowd. At 25 minutes after our order two families that arrived after us received their orders. I went up and asked why and was told any minute. I could see our food sitting in the passthrough and let them know it was there. We did get it a few minutes later . . . ICE COLD except the soups. Clearly they had forgotten and let it sit. And then I had the nerve to ask for hot food. It took my going up there three times to get right. And Reuben the manager was asked to talk to us, he was the one I handed my cold mac and cheese to that my daughter was served. He took it in the back never to be seen from again. They are always SLOW but no one even cared the food was late, cold, wrong and cold again twice more. We will not go back to this location. Anywhere else, we will. Another family was going in as we were leaving and heard a few other people complain so they asked us if we knew where Firehouse Subs was in the same parking lot. We directed them over and I am 100% confident they had a great meal. read more

I go to this restaurant mainly out of convenience. I can walk there on my lunch break. It becomes more of a hassle rather than a lunch stop because out of the four times I have tried this location they have made my order wrong. I don't order anything hard, only a plain and dry sandwich and a bowl of soup. You can't stop there on a 30 minute lunch break, they spend 20 minutes of it fixing your order. read more
