    Smokehouse spud
    Teri M.

Restaurant was immaculate, and staff were very nice and friendly. Service was quick. I had a "choose 2", which allowed me to try two different items. I love when restaurants give this option. I had the Southwest Chicken Avocado salad, and the Black Angus Roast Beef spud. The salad was fresh and delicious. The spud (which is a half spud) was huge! It was a full-size baked potato...if this is a half, I can't imagine what a full size looks like. It was hot and delicious. Lots of thin shaved beef and a generous portion of gooey melty cheese. Not enough onions in my opinion. My husband also had a Choose 2. He got the chicken club, and a limited edition spud called the Smokehouse spud. It had pulled pork, bacon, green onion, Mac and cheese, and BBQ sauce. It looked and tasted amazing. Again, huge portion! Highly recommend!

Chicken Tortilla Soup w/ McAlister's Club (choose 2) and yes....they forgot the tortilla chips on this day.

I came here with my Bible study group one time (had never been here before) and when I tried the McAlister's Club for the first time, I was hooked! And ever since, I come up here at least once a week (sometimes twice in a week!) for my usual "Choose 2" order which is the McAlister's Club and Chicken Tortilla soup or when I don't want soup I go for the Chipotle Chicken & Bacon spud. I've tried their Savannah Chopped Salad and it was delicious! I don't eat salad often, but when I do have a taste for one, that'll definitely be my go to again. The food here isn't the problem.....my food is always fresh and they keep the establishment clean. My problem is with their service. It's like every time I come here, it's hit or miss. And most times it's just the little things. I always order through the mobile app and then drive around to the pick up window. Most times I don't wait too long, but more times than not, there is a small wait.....and then when someone does come to the window, they always seem to be in a hurry. When I have a chicken tortilla soup in my order, it's a 50/50 chance that they forget to give me the tortilla chips that go with it. Fun fact: the very first time I ordered that soup, I didn't get any tortilla chips with it......I didn't know it was supposed to come with it until I ordered it again and this time they gave it to me. Also, I always get their half sweet tea and half sweet lemonade WITH a lemon wedge......there's about a 75% chance that I don't get that lemon wedge every time I order it AND last but not least, there's a 50/50 chance I don't get the pickle that's supposed to come with my sandwich. I guess I should make it a habit to check my food before I leave but how hard is it to just make sure you pack it right the first time? I remember a while ago, they came out with a new sandwich called the Chicken Ranch BLT....my husband and I were excited to try it so I ordered my husband the sandwich and I got mine as a spud w/ a club sandwich and drove up there to pick it up. This was on a Saturday morning around 11:30a or so......when I got up there to the pick up window, the lady tells me that they're out of chicken and that if I didn't want to substitute the chicken for turkey, I'd have to get something else (I was still able to get my club sandwich but I couldn't get my spud and my husband couldn't get the sandwich) Say what now??? How are you out of chicken and you've only been open an hour?? So I tell her that I didn't want turkey and that I'd just get something else, but in my head I'm thinking I prepaid a certain price for those items so whatever I get should be comparable to what I was charged. Then she says that there's enough chicken for the chicken BLT, but not the spud. So I just got the chicken tortilla soup and my husband got his sandwich....which was fine. As long as one of us got to try it. The lady did give me a free bag of chips for the trouble....I appreciate the effort...Lol. Obviously, these little short comings here and there haven't kept me from buying their food, but for the reasons I just explained, I had to take away one star.

Club Sandwich was delicious Turkey melt was also good Side of Mac & cheese was 1/3 full & was all cheese sauce with a few noodles. It wasn't any good anyway $30 for 2 sandwiches with no drinks is a bit much for carry out lunch

Is this Chipotle ranch? Hell no.

Nearly every single time we order food delivered or at the actual restaurant? Something is wrong and/or we are missing food items from our order.. are those 2 Double Cheese Pizza's? ... I didn't ask for pepper on my Smoked Turkey breast Sandwich oh wait pepper isn't an option so what are all those black specks on my sandwich? Mold perhaps? Whatever it is? It looks disgusting. . Nothing changes with all the surveys we get sent so obviously management does not care. Let's see how much longer this location lasts? When Bolingbrook Schlotzsky's was open looooooong ago we didn't have any of these problems.

This is a 4.5 star review. I'm unduly excited that there is a Schlotzsky's in the western suburbs;…read moretheir sourdough bread is delicious and the spouse and I got hooked when they expanded big in the 80s and then nearly all of them closed. So I always stop at a Schlotzsky's if I see one, and the spouse brought me here as a treat. (The pizzas are also good, as I recall, but the sandwiches are so good I hate to pass them up.) Yes, they also do soup if that's your jam. Being able to get a Cinnabon at the same time was lovely, though we found it a little underdone. We got two of the vegetarian sandwiches (I recommend asking them to go light on the ranch dressing). I find a small sandwich is enough for me; it's packed with filling. Service was fine - they bring it to your table. Seating is smallish - it's a sandwich shop. Restrooms are clean and easy to find.

In light of Rosh Hashanah, we were looking for Jewish places to eat and came across Schmaltz Deli…read more We never knew there was a Jewish deli in the area and boy were we missing out. As soon as we walked in, we knew it was going to be a great experience. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor tables available as well as a traditional deli counter. They also have a drive thru! You can choose to order at the counter or be seated with a more traditional restaurant-like service. Our waiter was young but very professional and provided great recommendations. To start, they bring a complimentary bowl of bagel chips (a unique twist and a great way to repurpose old bagels). For my meal, I had a half American sandwich with a bowl of matzo ball soup. It was simple but delicious. On our way out, we stopped at the deli and ordered a few rugelach. They tasted so fresh! My favorite was the apricot flavor. Definitely hope to be back real soon to support such a great spot! Shana Tova!

3.5 stars, but rounded up because I didn't feel they deserved any deduction…read more I was REALLY looking forward to their #20 Old New Yorker, which I got in their Navel Cut pastrami. It was a solid 7, which is why I place it at 3.5 stars. I may be being picky here but it just wasn't to the level of "melt-in-your-mouth" pastrami standards for me. Not to say it wasn't good, because it was perfectly fine. In fact, it's better than most of the pastrami sandwiches I tried in Chicagoland. Maybe it's the fact that I had to bring it back to the office to eat it, and half hour had gone by and pastrami weren't as warm and the Jewish rye had become soggy by the time I took the first bite. I mean, it goes without saying that the sandwich would have been 3 times better had I sat down immediately and had it. Again, all things considered, it was a perfectly good sandwich. One interesting thing was that I had never been to an establishment that included a half sour pickle instead of a normal one and gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. Pickles can be a hit or a miss for me. I like my pickles to be crunch, but some places offer overripened ones that become borderline mushy. Schmaltz's half sour pickle was not overly salty or sour, making it very attractive for me. The more I'm thinking about it, I'm convinced that I'll have to go back and try their #14 Sloppy Paul, which is the corned beef with sauerkraut, which is another favorite of mine. And this time, I'll be sure to dine in and give another review of it to see how much I like them better.
