I know it's hard to believe but this was my first time at Potbelly's. My husband absolutely loves this sandwich shop, and kept talking about how their sandwiches are good, but I never have them a try, given that I thought their sandwiches were just like Subway. But enough about what they're NOT, and more about what they are! Potbelly's is actually a genuinely good sandwich store - clean, cozy, warm and welcoming. The staff were very pleasant and sweet. My husband got a Turkey n' Swiss sandwich, and I got the Mediterranean. For hubby that was his usual, and after tonight, the Mediterranean may just be my staple. We also got a sugar cookie, and this was the PERFECT ending to our meal, since it was slightly crisp around the edges and soft and chewy in the middle, just the way a cookie ought to be! I truly wish they had more variety for pescatarians and vegetarians, that aren't sides (such as Mac n Cheese). Outside of that, I loved my sandwich, and now no other will do! read more

A public health risk during the pandemic, with negligent customer service. Online ordering promised curbside pickup and a pickup time of 1230. Arrived at the store and called, but the store would not pick up the phone. Went inside, and 10-15 online order customers were waiting, compromising social distancing. 20 minutes after the promised time, I left, without even being acknowledged as present by the store's employees. Could not reach a human being to request my refund until 90 minutes later. As the ringing, ignored phone in the store suggests, they were studiously avoiding their customers. An experience that means I won't be coming back. This store is not taking its responsibility to public health seriously during the pandemic. read more

Ordered online from website selecting DELIVERY. After checking status, the order was categorized as PICKUP, despite the website information listing DELIVERY TO: our home address. Called the store for over an hour with no answer. Finally installed the App to place the order again hoping for better service. Second order was delivered as placed on the App. Still unable to reach anyone at the store for a refund to the first order now 3 hours later. Potbelly Customer service phone number is automated and unable to reach anyone for assistance. Very frustrating experience. Hard to believe a business can operate in this manner. read more

When I Iived in plainfield I'd make a hike down to Naperville to get my workouts in, after every work out I'd stop into Potbellys to get my favorite turkey sandwich! Here is where I met Rolondo. He always remembered my order and we had the best mini conversation, I always looked forward to this routine. I have since moved to the east coast where sadly, there are no Potbellys. A few weeks ago while back in town I had to get my fix, I thought before making my way there that my experience wouldn't be the same if Rolondo wasnt there, but he was! He is the best! This Potbelly's did it right and they did it fast. Roast beef & provolone piled high with veggies, yum! And the chocolate brownie cookie tops Panera Bread's cookies by a long shot. There was a teenage boy playing an acoustic guitar (Mumford & Sons) on a Sunday afternoon. A few teenage girls were hanging out here, but they weren't really loud or obnoxious. But if you're looking for a quiet place to work this may not be the spot for you. They also sell San Pellegrino sodas, which is always a bonus in my book. read more

This location has become my go-to Pot Belly. The outdoor seating of this fine establishment along with that of a popular coffee chain means on a nice day there is always that awkwardness of walking to the front door while people stare at you and you stare back looking at their food. When you walk in it looks just like a Pot Belly. I don't know how they've managed to capture that Pot Belly mystique that about a half dozen other locations I've dined in emanate, but they've pulled it off. The new Turkey BLT is one of the better sandwiches you can get at any chain right now. And I would know because I have a super refined palate. read more

Love Pot Belly! Love this store even more!! Being a vegetarian and a very particular one at that, I always ask for fresh gloves and a fresh knife to be used to avoid any and all cross contamination. In most sandwich places, I am met with the judging eyes of people behind the counter. Not here! Not only do these people change their gloves before dropping my bread into the toaster, they also ask those colleagues at the end of the toaster to change theirs. The name "potbelly" doesn't exactly scream gourmet food. For me, it presents an image of tubby people and pigs.... kind of like what you'd expect to see at an Arkansas Wal-Mart. But you don't judge a book by the title (ie Moby Dick). Potbelly is actually a tasty little sandwich shop/chain which offers live country style music and a variety of different sandwiches. I ordered the wreck which was delicious. Can't remember what the hell was in it - but it was an assortment of delicious meats and cheeses on a toasted bun. They also have fountain powerade (blue) which I have never experienced before. With everything they offer, I don't recall seeing peanut butter as a topping but they have giant jars of peanut butter on the shelves as decoration I guess. Weird I know, but somehow it works. Caving into the need to see what this whole chain was about because they're basically everywhere....I ventured in for a sammie and walked out with a mouthful. After passing by so many Potbelly's, it was almost inevitable to actually step foot inside and order up. So after a grumbling wake up call from my fellow stomach cohort I like many others went in for a lunchtime fix. The seating is organized and there's enough for big groups or small ones. Several options from turkey to roast beef standout on their menu. It's a build your own type of place once you decide on the style of meat and bread type. Making the decision of the vegetarian, I ordered up and followed suit with the others around. It's a standard sub shop but with a little pub flare including the relaxed wood seats and non shuttered windows. The sandwich was filled with sauteed mushrooms, cheese and I threw in a bunch of other fixins to spruce it up like lettuce and hot peppers. The staffers behind the counter were pleasant and accomodating to the indecisive folks and kept things moving at a fast pace. The sandwich was extremely filling and just the right size. Not too bad of a lunchitme setting. Now I can finally give a pat on the back of my shoulder for finally checking Potbelly out. read more

Had friends over last Saturday ordered 6 sandwiches on their app. Three of the sandwiches were made incorrectly and two were not edible loaded with hot gard the other had mushrooms baked in . I get mistakes happen but has become a reoccurring issue. A little embarrassing When you have guests over and 2 of them don't have food. I don't need to get people sick feeding them things they are allergic to. Mgr was not very receptive. I m not going to open each sandwich before I leave to check the toppings. Ugh read more

I love Potbelly - it's definitely my fave sandwich chain in existence, and this specific location does not disappoint. I'm personally a fan of the turkey (exotic, I know) and the Wreck. Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are rad, along with basically every other baked good they offer. Holy ships, don't get me started. One of my favorite memories of this place EVER was this one time when they were featuring the normal local artist playing music over lunch. The restaurant was pretty empty, but this one guitarist obvi had a superfan in the house. Potbelly makes great toasted sandwiches with a variety of meats, cheeses and toppings. They make it very easy to order exactly what you want and also offer their own interesting creations. They also offer soups and salads. They handmake shakes to order and bake cookies right in the store. They offer a good selection of beverages, not just the usual soda fountain choices. The staff are always friendly, the facility is always well cared for and the crowd is good. This location offers a kids menu and catering. read more

After many years of frequenting this location we will not go again. We went during a non busy time and ordered buffalo chicken sandwiches. Once the sandwich was made after a very long wait they announced they were " out of buffalo" and would give me blue cheese instead. It pains me to see all the cost cutting measures at PB. I get hiding the napkins - people are pretty wasteful. But ripping out the cozy booths and Naperville specific historic displays for what looks like IKEA chairs and tables was a mistake. The signage in the window was downgraded to go with the other cheap new signs. And the coup de grâce is scrapping the funky chandelier that all PBs used to have. another one of our go-to lunch spots. food is good, wait isn't too long and WOW do i love their cookies! never had an issue w/ their food or service. only thing with this location is there never seems to be a musician playing during lunch. at the potbelly by my work there's always someone there between 11-1ish. here i think i've only seen a guitar player once. that's one of the reasons why i like potbelly, it's a little unique. this is also a neat place to people watch, it's next to a little courtyard area and several other lunch places. so i get to witness all the best in SAHM fashions. read more

I had called in 5 sandwiches for pick up an hour before closing and when I picked them up and tried to figure out what sandwich was which they were not labeled at all.. We order delivery from this location on a very regular basis. We frequently encounter errors as well as nasty lettuce in the salads, but today was the straw that broke the camel's back. Our order was 30 minutes late & was missing a bag of chips. When I called to complain, the manager (Stefan) told me he'd credit the account for just the sandwiches & soups, but he refused to credit for the chips we did not receive. I conceded to it, but now 12hrs later my friend's credit card has not been credited. Unacceptable. read more
