Horrible customer service! Error kept happening while placing order on app. I kept trying for a while when it would keep erroring I decided to call the store. I spoke with a gentleman and told him what was happening with my app and the coupon and he said he would take my order over the phone and apply the coupon when I arrived for pickup. Once I arrived and tried to pay the young lady working said oh it's not working because you did not purchase a 2 shareable items. Mind you nowhere on the menu does it show shareable items. I looked over and over it, I had order a full sandwich for me with potato salad and a full sandwich for my hubby with a side of fruit! The coupon would not work so I asked her to cancel my order. Wife and I met up with Friends for Dinner at McAlister's Deli. McAlister's is a Salad & Sandwich place where you order at the counter, grab a table and your food is delivered to you really fast. After looking over the menu my Wife decided on the "Pecanberry Salad"; Spring Mix Lettuce, Fresh Strawberries & Blueberries, Candied Pecans & Grilled Chicken. Served with Fat Free Raspberry-Pecan Vinaigrette Dressing. I am having the "McAlister's Club"; Roasted Turkey, Black Forest Ham, BACON, Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Swiss Cheese, Spring Mix Lettuce, Tomato Mayo & McAlister's Honey Mustard on Toasted Wheat Bread. Served with a Pickle Spear & Chips. My Wife is having Iced Water with Lemon and I'm going with the Lemonade & Iced Tea drink. The Group grabbed some tables for all of us while we ordered. Soon our food started arriving and McAlister's is pretty quick in preparing what was ordered and served on square plates - and a Very Nice Presentation of Deliciousness. My Wife's 'Pecanberry Saladty' is Very Colorful with three-containers. A Nice-Size Salad and lots of Tastylicious Dressing. My Wife Loved her Salad, said it was Crisp, Tasty and Very Flavroful - and a lot. She took some home along with two-containers of dressing. My 'McAllisters Club' was also Very Delicious with lots of Meat & Cheese stacked up. It also was a touch of Sweetness that really added to the flavors and the Toast was Toasted All-The-Way-Through for that Perfect Crunch. I ate all of mine because that's what I do. This is the first McAlister's I have been to in several years, and it's basically how I remember it. Nothing special, but it has some good stuff. I ordered an orange cranberry club and a spud max. The sandwich was fine, I would say that I may have enjoyed it more if it was heated (like a panini), but that's on me. The spud was bigger than I remember (lol), so I had leftovers for the next day because there was no way I could finish that! One of the most Stellar Services I have ever had for just a sandwich shop, can we model this to oversee every my else that is in this type of business? I got the four cheese grilled sandwich with a side order of macaroni and cheese. Talk about a cheese overload I should never do that again but just to let you know that is some real cheese in there, they do not play around. A tad pricey on the price side but you're getting a good service that you might not have want to anyways but decent product. The fresh-squeezed lemonade which almost had me thinking it was, still had decent sugar to lemon and water ratio contents. Pretty addictive. Tables were mostly cleaned immediately after people getting up. Something strange about the clientele here though, they like to stare at people horse work for some reason but that will not deter me from coming back. If I wasn't so hangry I would have noticed the warning signs and left before ordering. At 5:30pm on a Monday half the restaurant is closed off to minimize the amount they have to clean, not a big deal but it all adds up (they don't close till 9). As I was ordering g the girl kept shooing away a fly I should have noticed that everyone in the place was spending more time shooing flies than anything else. I also didn't notice the paper on the counter stating that their RO system is down so when I asked for tea she said they just have canned soda, and a little bit of lemonade left, no tea or fountain drinks. They were also out of both desserts we wanted. They also were handing out plastic forks so they had less dishes, when I went back up for a knife I saw the bin of regular forks right there but they gave everyone plastic. This place, like many other places in town has seriously gone downhill. I witnessed no glove changing even though some employees were up front messing with their wallets and personal belongings as if they planned on going back in the kitchen with the same gloves they had on. There was no pickle which should automatically come with my sandwich and the bread was not even toasted so there's no reason I should have been waiting as long as I did for my sandwich. There was a manager (Brayden at the Sherwood Way in San Angelo, TX) who was yelling at one of the employees apparently he told her rudely to remove some bracelet, and when she told him ok hold on because she was taking a customer's order, he walked up to her and got in her face and said I don't care what you're doing! Take off your jewelry! At that point the employee, who looked to be 15/16 years old girl, started crying. Then he started laughing at her and walked to the back. Everyone here is so over the top friendly! Every employee greeted us at some point during our visit to make sure we were good. Even the manager was in the floor greeting customers. The food was delicious as always. Feel like you can never go wrong with anything on the menu, and the tea is the BEST! Absolutely horrible service and food! The last few times I have been have been a nightmare to say the least. I placed an online order about a month ago and they told us it would be ready at a certain time way AHEAD of expected pickup time like hours! Arrived to pickup the food and was told they ran out of potato's why wasn't I contacted when they realized and also went to pickup food today and promised time was 1:22 pm, nobody would look at the long line of people that were waiting for to go ordered but would help every person at the line. I was told yet again that they were low on potato's and that it was backed up. I finally received my food about 1.5 hrs later than promised time and wasn't even told "I'm sorry" or anything! I could see my order was ready on the shelf behind the counter but knew I had ordered a sweet tea too so I waited and Waited and WAITED as person after person, WHO WORKED THERE, just kept walking past without acknowledging any of us. finally after 10 minutes a lady walked over, asked my name, handed me my food, and started to walk over to make my tea BUT was distracted by something else so I continued to stand there and wait for an additional 15 minutes UNTIL finally another lady came out and asked what I needed. McAlister's deli is exactly what you'd expect from a chain sandwich chop. Definitely one of the better ones in San Angelo. Service is hit or miss and the seating is extremely limited if you plan to come out with a group. As far as stopping in for a quick bite, there are definitely worse sandwich shops to choose from. read more

Good god. How do I start with this cluster F of a "restaurant"? I have loved previous versions of this under different owners or management. I also gave this place 3 tries. Cause maybe someone was having a bad day, maybe it was me? First, I didn't realize to-go means self service. Customer tells you how to bag your food. Customer gets drinks prepared for the drive. Customer has to remind the person with the receipt in hand what I ordered. Second. Wash your lettuce. Wash your produce. You are getting people sick. Third... My favorite. A normal spud is two regular size potatoes put together. A "choose 2" option is just one regular potato and whatever else you want with it. So when I'm told you are out of potatoes when I ask for a "normal spud" I'm like okay... You're out. (However dumb cause that's a primary item and its barely 25 minutes into the lunch hour on a workday.) But then get told I can have a choose 2 potato... Baffles me. I even verified that it's not the "last" one. It's just what they have left. Sooo wtf? I said, "Okay, then give me two of those together like you do for normals." "We can't we can only do choose 2." I come here every now and then and I haven't been disappointed. They do a good job keeping the dining area clean and there is usually a line, which is efficiently handled. It has a unique spin on sandwiches,salads, baked potatoes but it just doesn't blow me away. I will say that if you do want to eat healthy this is a great option. BUT, dont come here with the idea you are gonna get in and out in less than 15min with a to go order. I would advise calling ahead. This place is usually busy so expecting to walk in and out just aint happening. The reason I'm bumping it to a 4 is the staff making sure my wait wasn't long by checking with me every 4-5 minutes.
